Christ healed on the Sabbath, Christ is the Sabbath, Christ teaches that the Sabbath is hypocrisy, the Sabbath is from the law and the law is dead.
Christ is the Sabbath and the Sabbath is hypocrisy. Do you see how silly this makes you look?

what he meant of course was that God had replaced the Sabbath rest with the rest that is in Christ. He is our rest. Meanwhile the Sabbath had been changed by hypocrites who had made it what it was not.

God gave Moses the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai to serve as principles of moral behavior for the human race. The Ten Commandments of God are the foundation of the moral code and legal system of justice for Western Christian civilization.
The Decalogue is recorded both in the Books of Exodus 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21, two of the five Books of Moses (also known as the Torah, Law, or Pentateuch). God gave Moses the Ten Commandments on two tablets of stone on Mount Sinai in the Book of Exodus, which are the moral expression of the Sinai Covenant between God and his people the Israelites. Moses recounted the Ten Commandments of God to the Israelites in the Book of Deuteronomy.
This is one you really need to read and stop twisting to suit your purpose
(4 )Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, do you even know what this means, those fake pictures you hang in churches to start with. He would of never had ling hair to begin with
or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
The laws of moses and the ten commandments were given to show humanity that they could not measure up, that no one was worthy, and they were just Gods precursor to the arrival of his son Christ Jesus and the age of grace.

Gal 3;24
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ that we might be justified by faith.

This was Gods plan from the beginning. God didn't sit around and go, hmmmmmm, the laws I've given them don't seem to be working, what should i do now. Oh maybe i should send my son and see if that works.

It was preordained from the beginning of the world that Christ was coming. If God didn't give the laws for us to see that no one could follow them, then the arrival of Christ and grace would have meant nothing because without the laws we would never have known we could never measure up.

God bless

This how true Christians are shown from religious Christians.
Thank you

Jesus observed the Sabbath. He taught that the extra burdens that the Pharisees added to the Sabbath were NOT from God; but He never taught against Sabbath observance. He taught equally against Rabbinic interpretation in all other areas of the Law; but never taught against the Law.

A true believer is not someone who goes to church like a saint one day of the week but lives like the devil the rest of it.

The original thread starter was worried is she could even do homework. I think we need to understand the Sabbath in Christ and not the Sabbath in the law. The Sabbath in the law was hypocritical as you stated about the extra burdens as known by Christ.

Mat 12; 11-12....and he said to them, What man shall there be among you that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the Sabbath day will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
how much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the Sabbath days.

I believe that the Sabbath in Christ is not one particular day or days of the week. As Valiant states, it is the rest in Christ.
Which i believe is simply at any time you ramp down and have quiet time with just you and Christ.
Btw we all need to do this, so we not only read the word but are able to hear the word and his guidance.

God Bless

no a roman emperior who was worshiped as a god , made sunday observence in rome,
a kingdom wide law, and the bible warns us they where going to do it.

On 7 March 321, Constantine I, Rome's first Christian Emperor (see Constantine I and Christianity), decreed that Sunday would be observed as the Roman day of rest:[5]

On [the venerable Day] of [the Sun] let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country, however, persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits; because it often happens that another day is not so suitable for grain-sowing or vine-planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost.[6]

the 7th day rest is the 7th 1000 years of man on this earth,

Jesus said he did not bring peace and rest, but a sword to this earth

Isaiah 66:23 (KJV)

And [it shall] come to pass, that from one new moon to another,

and from [one sabbath] to another,

shall [all flesh] come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

Here is the patience of the saints:

here are they [that keep] the commandments of God,

[and] the faith of Jesus.

The ten commandments weren't given for people to follow, they were given to show humanity that they couldn't follow what was needed by works to get into heaven. It is written that if you break one commandment you might as well break them all because God does not distinguish the severity between the commandments.
All the commandments are encompassed under the 2nd of the two great commandments in the new testament. Love thy neighbour, as it is written in the new testament.
Under the new testament and the grace that was bestowed to us by God through the sacrifice and resurrection of his only begotten son Christ Jesus, the law of the word is dead, and we are in the spirit of the word.

One who has accepted Christ as his lord and saviour into his life and heart would not want to do those things you mentioned.

Many times in the new testament it is written, the law is dead. I suggest you take the time to read the new testament from front to back in order, even a page a day every day, and you will find the spirit of the word as given by Christ Jesus.

God bless

Can you define what the Sabbath exactly is and what the parameters of what one can and can't do on it please.

I have a catholic friend at work, born and raised catholic through and through. He tells me he doesn't work on sundays because he honours god with rest. but then tells me, well he does a little work on his vehicle but if he thinks he's doing to much he stops.
then we got so busy at work, one sunday he came into work for overtime, i asked why he was there in relation to his beliefs on the Sabbath, and he said, well the company really needed me.
So what i take from this is that honouring God is only doable until the company needs me. So the company's needs come first and God second.
We are talking about God here.
This is the hypocrisy that Christ spoke to. This is why Christ is the lord of the Sabbath now. And i believe that he wants us to simply spend some down time with him and the word. Whenever you can find that time, no particular day of the week or month, and no particular time set. But to find quiet time that is just for you and Christ to build your personal relationship with him, and in that quiet of the word with Christ, you will hear and see more on a spiritual level of the word than ever before.

This is just my opinion of the spiritual sense of the new sabbeth in Christ Jesus.

I can't imagine what God would be thinking for someone to obey the Sabbath under the old law, only until his company request him to work. And btw this gentleman i am talking about is a wonderful man, don't get me wrong, i just believe that
we are missing the spiritual message of Christ.

God bless
