My advice, do the work of the Lord. Study (seek the answers to every question you have about the Bible),allow yourself to be sanctified by the Holy Spirit, flee from sin, seek after God and help to encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Then one day, when you meet a woman who loves God way more than she loves you, marry her

he wants to ask a girl to go to prom with him..she will either say yes or no..it's a school dance, chaperoned i'm sure..after the dance, they each go home..to their own separate houses..he just wants to know if he should ask her and y'all are turning it into a huge debacle..
The question always comes down to.... "What would Jesus or an apostle of Jesus Christ (who was out to save people) do?"

While going to the prom is not necessarily wrong obviously, it depends on your focus, though. Are you going to the prom because that is what the world does? Or are you going to the prom because you think it is in service to God? Romans 8:1. That is it in a nutshell. He that walks after the Spirit in Christ Jesus is not under the Condemnation. Romans 8:6 then continues to say that to be carnally minded is death. Many parents know that drunkeness and fornication are a result of prom and they take measures or precautions as such to prevent their children in falling prey to such things and or they do things to minimize the worse case scenario damage.

For it is always better to play it safe than to be sorry. For if you talked with the parents who lost their kids to drunk driving on prom night or who's children got pregnant with someone they did not love on prom night, I am sure you would not be so cavalier about taking this matter so lightly. For until it happens to you and or to someone you care about closely, you cannot understand the heart ache and destruction such a simple of saying or thinking to oneself.... "I want to enjoy myself at the prom."

Don't give her a head message. But do start talking to her. If the first thing you say to her is "will you go to the Prom with me?" she won't. I'm at an all girl school so no-one will be asking me to the Prom.

The kid wants to ask a girl out. It is prom night and not porn night. There is a difference.

Wow...hadn't heard someone overspiritualize about prom before. Okay young lad...you can ask her out but there will be no card playing or going to movies....you can dance but there has to be at least 5ft of daylight between you two and no shaking your hips.

please ask her out for something now! at once! "coffee, tea, me...?"
pizza, jogging, zoo... movies? "anything she'd want to go with you to..?" be honest, be real! be funny! dare take her hand, kiss her! dare give her a head-massage :p go!
I'd hold off on the head massage for awhile...they can be really noisy to the receiver and its tough to carry on a conversation with all that noise.

If you like the girl....figure out ways to make her smile. Don't do any pushing. Peak her curiosity about you by playing it cool....you have time.

good luck

*disclaimer-this post is not sarcastic
