Criminy...why are you bringing this thread back? All it does is stoke jasons ego.
And, by the way, explain wife and child beating to me.
No sin is justifiable unless God says so. Take this with a grain of salt as I'm not hammering you necessarily, but your justification, like mine, matters not.
Smacking your child for endangering themselves. But beating them is not. Good point. So I missed 2. Nobody is perfect. Thanks for the help!!!

Sorry Michael, this poor dumb Aussie is still confused.

Are you saying that murder is 'justifiable' or that wife-bashing, genocide, terrorism, racism, exploiting the aged, corruption etc are 'justifiable' ? (Throw in 'torture' there for good measure).

It seems you mean either one or the other ?

No. We are still under the entire law that was already based on these two commandments:

Love God and love your neighbor.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

Lawlessness, therefore, is your love growing cold.

Matthew 24:13 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.

An erratum of my post above:

The entire law was already based on these two commandments:

Love God and love your neighbor.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

By these two commandments, we are no longer under the law, but under grace.

Lawlessness, therefore, is your love growing cold.

Matthew 24:13 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.

Always keep in the forefront of the mind that Jesus Chirst stressed the two loaws of love which are numbered with the laws given to Moses as being the most important of all the laws. These two laws are numbered within the laws, the others hang on them, and in hanging on them they are important also because they remain with the two.
The very most important lesson to learn about the law in the New Testament is how Jesus Christ teaches us to obey them. It is fine if any beliver thinks himself capable to love his way into obedience, but following the example of Jesus Christ and His teachings on the law are best to do also. I know I love to study the law too and apply it legally in grace when conducting my daily affairss. Do not ask me or anyone how to regard the law if you have read the New Testament because all is there to understand from the Master, Himself, in the greatest love available ever. Bloessed be our Salvation, Jesus, amen.

If a person cannot recognize the love that is within judgment, mercy, and faith, they are totally missing what the law truly represents, and how to love the right way. Loving our way without these persuasions isn't fulfilling the law of love.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Matthew 23:23

When we throw away the truth we are clueless. When we throw away the truth in the law we are lawless. When we are lawless, then the law is for us. When we are no longer under the law, the law doesn't vanish just because we think it should. We have only one choice if we do not want to be "under the law." Accept it as truth for instruction because Jesus was born "under the law." If we truly believe in Christ we have to truly believe in "ALL" of God's word that has been given to us, including the law He gave to Israel through Moses. (John 5:46-47)

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

There are justifiable reason for all things except rape and child molestation. I've thought about this for a very long time.
Let's go down just some of the lists of Commands in the New Testament.

The Two Greatest Commandments:

1. Love God with all your heart, mind, and soul (Matthew 22:37-38).
(There is no justification in not seeking to do this because it is the greatest of the Commandments).'

2. Love your neighbor (Matthew 22:39) (Romans 13:8-10).
(Christ tells us to pray and do good towards our enemies and to love our brothers, sisters, etc.)
(There is no justification in disobeying this Command by our Lord in the New Testament - We are under a New Covenant that extends grace and mercy to people) (For he that does not love, does not know God).

9 of the 10 Commandments (Which are repeated in the New Covenant):

1. Worship God only; For one shall have no other god before Him (Matthew 4:10).
(There is no justification in having any other gods before us. The Lord is the only one true God. To worship any other gods would be false).

2. Do not make any graven image or idol and bow down to it (Acts 15:20).
(There is no allowance for us to create an idol of our own imagining because it wouldn't even mean anything; It serves no purpose).

3. You shall not take the Lord God's name in vain (1 Timothy 6:1).
(Again, no justiification in doing something like this; To speak in vain about God's name is to insult him; It does not benefit you for any reason in doing so).

4. XXXXX

5. Honor your father and mother in the Lord (Ephesians 6:2).
(Doing so will make one's life long upon the Earth; and it shows forth love and respect towards those who are your guardians. For if we rebel against the authorities that be, we are rebelling against God) (Again, I do not see any justification of the Lord desiring us to rebel against our father and mothers in the Lord).

6. You shall not murder (1 John 3:15).
(The apostle John in his first epistle says that no murderer has eternal life abiding within them). (Murder is related to Cain in his epistle) (See verse 12 or 1 John 3:12). (In other words, there is no excuse to take a life or plan someone's death or demise). (Some people may say that murder is justifable if they are suffering thru pain because of some disease or injury or something). (But the Bible does not tell us to take life even in these circumstances). (For Job went thru get suffering and thru his challenges he grew closer to God). (Some may say that one can use self defense in order to protect your own life or the life of your own country, but again, there are no verses that give us authority to kill others. God's ministers of justice in Romans 13 are not talking about believers but unbelievers; For example the Assyrians were an evil nations ued by God so as to chastise his people). (Besides, John does not give us a rule of exception for murderers; He does not say no murder has eternal life abiding in them .... except those who do such and such, etc.). (Yeah, but what about God telling His people to take the lives of their enemies? Is that not murder? No. It is not murder. For one, God is telling His people to defend their nation against hostile evil sinful people who are bent on the Israelite's physical and spiritual destruction; In other words, there is a big difference between God telling you to destroy an enemy that He has already Judged versus say you being the Judge (or God) and deciding who shall live and die by your own flawed judgment).

7. You shall not commit adultery (Matthew 5:27-28).
(There is no justification for committing adultery or to cheat on your spouse or to look upon a woman in lust).

8. You shall not steal (Ephesians 4:28).
(There is no excuse in taking something that belongs to somebody else) (Yeah, but what if you needed clothes to surive a harsh winter and you lived under a bridge and you could not get your own clothes? Again, this is not a reason to steal. There are other ways to go about it like asking for people for charity, etc. to pay for the coat.). (Yeah, but what if it was like a weapon that you knew was going to harm someone? Well, we are not called to be a police force as believers).

9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. (Matthew 19:18) (Acts 5:3-4) (Revelation 21:8).
(This is in context to lying against your neighbor and in not telling something that is not true) (Yeah, but what about Rahab? Was she not praised in Hebrews chapter 11 for lying?) (Rahab did not lie according to the 9th Commandment. Rahab was using deception as a part of the Art of War to protect people's lives during a time of Combat or War). (For example: During the battle of AI, God told Joshua to deceive the enemy by setting up a trap; God's people had direct authority from God to deceive an enemy that God condemned so as protect their people. For surely if these people were good and were willing to make peace and submit to God's ways, then the Lord would have spared them. But God knows better and sees all things). (Even Jesus did not reveal all the truth of His plan to people and He let people believe what they wanted to see. But again, this is not a breaking of the 9th Commandment. Breaking of the 9th Commandment is in actually speaking something that is false so as to protect yourself out of purely selfish reasons (Because one is embarrassed, prideful) and or to cover up some kind of sin). (So no, there is no justification in breaking the 9th Commandment).

10. You shall not covet.(Luke 12:15) (Romans 1:28-32).
The Lord specifically warns us about covetousness because life does not consist in the abundance of our things. So there is no reason to break this Commandment. So there is no allowance or circumstance in us wanting to take something that belongs to someone else nor is their an allowance for us build our treasures here on this Earth rather than in Heaven. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be).

okay here's a thought, (in the mind of Christ Jesus)

did yahweh ever, once, twice, 3 times? , say "thou shalt not kilt" would be an eternal regulation ? (instruction/ command/ suggestion/ helpful hint to living peacefully/ anything?eternal)

specifically. "thou shalt not kilt" (not in those words - obviously he spoke and wrote Hebrew at the time, "the english language" was just a bad dream in the future for mankind)(okay, maybe not "all" bad) )

anyways, is "no killing" stated by yahweh in HIS WORD as an eternal instruction ?

Edit Correction:

I was typing to fast and I noticed this mistake. Meant to say,

"the Assyrians were an evil nation used by God."

There is no letter "s" after the word "nations"; It is the word "nation." Also, the word "ued" was supposed to have a letter "s" in it; It was supposed to be the word "used."

I do not think it is the frequency of a Command that makes a Command binding for all time. Many times in the Old Testament, the Sabbath Command was repeated, but that does not mean it is binding today for us believers. For Paul says in Romans that some observe all days the same and others observe one day over another. He says in Colossians that we are not to judge anyone according to holy days or Sabbaths. However, if you need multiple confirmations in the New Testament that God does not approve of murder or killing others, it is surely there for you to see multiple times (If that is what you are looking for).

John says that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him (1 John 3:15). Murder is murder, whether you murder for your own reasons or murder for the reasons of another people group that desires you to murder for them.

Anyways, here is a thread that deals with whether or not we should take lives or not.

you missed the point. "no killing" is a commandment right now. i wasn't asking how often yahweh said so,
but rather, DID HE SAY IT WAS ETERNAL. "FOREVER" "no killing" ?
(specifically and especially/ particularly directly> "no killing"; eternal? for eternity? "forever?")

I see what you are getting at. When Christ's returns at His 2nd Coming, the Lord Himself (Who is a physical flesh and blood man still) will destroy all the nations that come up against Him. Many, many saints will be following behind Him. They are said to be as eagles that will devour the carcases which is a throwback to an Old Testament reference of how we will eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of captains. Granted, this is a metaphorical phrase. We are not going to literally eat people. It is a phrase of saying how we are gaining victory over our enemies.

So, yes, it is possible that when the Lord returns as a part of His Judgment, He is commanding those saints that are with Him to fight against them. But this would be a New Command given to His saints directly by the Lord Himself that would supercede the Written Command in the New Testament (If such is the case where His saints are to take lives during His 2nd Coming). However, I also believe based on the verses I have studied that His saints will merely let the Lord do all the fighting and they are merely the witnesses and the beneficaries of the battle.

As for the Lord being a man and coming in Judgment to destroy all the nations:

Well, Christ is also God Almighty in the flesh and He is the Son of God (Where all Judgment is given unto Him), ....

so He has the power to Judge.

However, we also have to realize that the Command to not murder has nothing to do with taking lives as a part of the Art of War whereby God would command His people to destroy His enemies (That were bent on destroying them). Murder is when you take life selfishly into your own hands for your own reasons or for the interests of another people group. God commanding His people to destroy an enemy that is bent on destroying them is self preservation of God's good people (Under the Lord's direction).

Now, that said, Jesus did give us a Command in the New Testament to pray for our enemies and to do good unto them. For we are to turn the other cheek if smitten. Nowhere did the apostles ever pick up the sword and fight back against those they considered to be the enemy. The apostles suffered and were persecuted for their faith. They did not resist evil but they overcame evil with good.

For I believe Christians today are not allowed to kill or fight back under the New Covenant. Also, believers could also be spirit bodies and not physical at the battle, too. Which is a game changer because the Written Word is intended for us as believers of how we are to behave here on this Earth. For it talks about how to function as a church body so as to lead others to Christ and to draw closer to Him. Such a thing will not be the case for saints in Heaven.

okay, this will take a lot of time. too much is awry here. maybe there is a metaphor like you have referred to, in part anyway,

but the birds really will eat the flesh, the eagles really will devour the flesh of GOD'S enemies.

and no, JESUS will not have his followers kill others. "no killing" is still his command/ "WORD"/ instruction and will not change.

(the point was, if "no killing" is not specifically pointed out, described, written by GOD as an ETERNAL COMMANDMENT....
that has consequences (good consequences, once understood) and repercussions on many people)
