I'll be glad when the 4th of July is over. The state of Iowa, in it's [sarcasm]infinite wisdom[/sarcasm] decided they would allow residents to buy and discharge fireworks. So now every moron is allowed to buy and discharge explosives, and they have been doing so every evening for a week. People who lack the brain power to walk and chew gum at the same time do NOT need to be allowed to play with fire or explosions. They need to sit at home, in their bike helmets, lick the windows, and watch the fireworks display on TV.

3 days left this week and I'm so exhausted...

pregnant women NEED sleep to survive while they cook their babies in their belly!
I just might crash when I get home....

When my wife was pregnant with our son, I remember that she slept a lot, ate a lot and had to pee a lot! :D

well yea, how else are moms supposed to carry ask grow their baby? They have to "cook" in the womb and then when it's 9 months... baby is nice and fat and ready to come into the world. Lol

yes!!!!! I take a lot of naps.... I eat way more than I used too... and the peeing never ends... lol

As an Iowa resident I regret fireworks not being legal when I was a kid 50 years ago. I had countless uses for a firecracker when I was a kid but Iowa was too stiff to allow them to be sold. Now the only use I have for fireworks is the smoke bombs to toss down gopher and mole holes. Alas.

I feel your pain. I was 43 before I found someone who could love me. I had given up finding anyone in the US. I started looking for an eastern European girl to love me.

The one I found answered my add on a Christian singles website: "Wanted: Tall Christian frog kissing princess."

Have you tried eharmony.com?

Thanks for the suggestion but I don't really have what it takes to attract a woman on those sites. I'm not a successful, financially independent, confident man. In fact, I probably don't really have what it takes to attract a woman at all. They always just like me as a friend. Its been this way for most of my life, although there were a few years when I was in great shape and women seemed to pay a lot of attention to me, but then I was too shy. Anyway, thanks for trying. I do appreciate it.

..oh and I'm not really crying. I just thought that was a cute gif. I feel like crying on the inside though..

When I worked for ISU, I had to go through a course to be certified as a PGI Display Operator, and that was more eduction about fireworks than I ever wanted to know, and it soured me on the idea of regular folks having access to them. I'm truly surprised somebody's house in my neighborhood didn't catch fire. Thankfully, it's over now until the week between the end of Christmas and New Years...and the dorks will be back at it.

I understand your attitude. It is easier to blame yourself for being alone than to chalk it up to random events. It keeps you from being responsible to change yourself. By convincing yourself you are hopeless, you no longer have to try to make the correct changes in your life. You no longer have have to risk the stress of finding and developing a healthy relationship.

It is also easy to blame God for making you such an unlovable loser.

Perhaps you think, "Ho hum, if I were a better person someone might love me, but it's really hopeless. I'm really hopeless, so I am not going to try anymore." Don't you think that is demonstrating a lack of faith in God. Can't He do miracles even in your life?

Give it another chance. If you are content to stay single, that is one thing, but if you have longed to be married most of your adult life, then it is time to draw very close to God, and then start looking for His provision in your life. One thing a godly woman can't resist is a godly man.

I invite you to get some therapy for your self attitude. God wants you happy (even when things are difficult). By becoming a happy mature Christian, single women will be interested in you.

Don't give up. It is never too late to start doing the right thing. Look for a woman whose heart is close to God even if she is not as attractive as you have daydreamed about.

I've tried being the workaholic, the strong sensitive type, I've even tried being the musician in the band, the martial artist, the singer, the beach bum, the gym rat, the guy with the shiny sports car, the responsible guy with perfect credit, the handyman, the contractor, the artist, the supportive friend, the investor, the sharp dresser, etc...

Don't know what else to try. I've even owned my own business and have changed careers from working in graphics to working in the medical field to being self employed. I think its just time to accept the fact that I can't attract a woman to save my life.. it just is what it is...

Respectfully, I still want to say, "Bah Humbug." I don't want to sound judgmental, but becoming a godly man is not something one tries and then gives up on. It is its own reward. I was just trying to encourage you to do the most important thing in life, and hoping, in my naiveté, that it would lead to that which you really long for most of all.
