You are deluded.

What law? What scriptures?

You follow me as if I don't know and believe the new covenant.

You attack and accuse unjustly.

I do not support keeping people under old covenant law. You have me mistaken for someone else.

Why should I defend a position I DO NOT SUPPORT?

Yes I pray and God hears.

Can you say the same?

Do you pray or do you just attack?

i wrote a response , on a bible forum topic, so your delusion is clear. (no quote given in response)

and to have a response there needs to be a two way communication going on. (not a one sided , written opinion. )

and for the record any fault finder can pick and choose to write a response , quoting the written bible to back up to that written response. is your problem.

side note

a human person fell in a river and was starting to drown, a boat come along, and a voice shout out, do you need a hand, no came the reply i am a christian , god will save me. a few moments later an other boat comes alone, a voice is heard saying do you need a hand, no came the reply. a helicopter was in the air, and sees the drowning human and a voice is heard do you need a hand. no came the response. the human drowned, the human met god in heaven, and said why did you not save me. god said i sent two boats and a helicopter.

moral of the story. even a fool has an opinion.

reread what was already said, must be a problem for some. but that s easy ,if you can change, what has been said at an early time. as you can understand i cannot. lol

take it up with the bible quote, you walk past, and bring a bible quote back, to back up your response.

this is a bible forum topic. hence using the bible to back up your written response.

clearly, try to help an other and it being reject, is not my free will , but the person who rejects that help.

i try i failed. but i did try.

Abuse is not a toy to be played with, to try and figure out how to play with, to try to fix. Please, please stop this thread.

There really is childhood abuse. But if you don't know how to treat it, don't turn it into a class project to build. The result has already started and this is only the first page. So far, we have an article from a law firm, people who think they were abused, and more who think everyone else is an abuser.

This is not a game! Stop! For God's sake and for the sake of all those who have truly been abused in many forms and many ways, just stop.
Knowing just how serious this is, why would you not want to discuss it? You and I have both worked in counseling, and know the layers that have to be peeled back before any real productivity results from the back-and-forth talk.

Why would you want to say "It hurts, so let's not speak of it."?

Going back over this thread, was this question ever answered?

should we punish disobedient children?
what about capital punishment , should it be inforced?

The Old Testament of the Bible speaks with perfect plainness on the issue of capital punishment:
“He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death” (Exodus 21:12).

Genesis 9:6 and Leviticus 24:17 also give full authority to those sitting in judgment to execute a murderer. Deuteronomy 19:11-13 commands unsparing punishment for such a killer: “…deliver him
into the hand of the AVENGER OF BLOOD, that he may die. Thine eye SHALL NOT PITY HIM,
but thou shalt PUT AWAY THE GUILT of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.”

Strong words, those. The God of the Old Testament clearly favored the death penalty.
The scriptures show that Jesus Christ was the God of the Old Testament.
In the New Testament book of Romans, God REAFFIRMS that authority:

“Let every soul be subject unto the governing authorities. For there is no authority except
from God, and the authorities that exist [speaking of man’s governments and courts] are
appointed by God.… For he [a government or court official] is God’s minister [“servant”
or “magistrate” in some translations] to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he
does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an AVENGER TO EXECUTE
WRATH on him who practices evil” (Romans 13:1-4; New King James Version).

The God of love tells us in such scriptures as Hebrews 12:5-6 that for our own good those who
commit wrong must be corrected. Correction is the God-given means to prevent crime and other problems. Using strong correction FORCES CHANGE in criminals convicted of lesser offenses
and eliminates entirely the threat of those convicted of violent crimes such as murder.

“Punishment, when meted out in the proper manner, and at the proper time, is one of the
greatest blessings a human being—at any age—can receive!” The reason is that if we do
not receive correction, we will proceed on a course to our own destruction (Proverbs 14:12).

Through correction, God can steer us in the path toward a happy, fulfilled life.

Many people reject God’s clear commandments involving implementation of the death penalty.
And though the death penalty was reinstated by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1976, Americans have demonstrated a fear to sternly correct evildoers, and are vacillating in their determination to use
the God-given option of executing people for horrible wrongs. As the late FBI Director J. Edgar
Hoover once stated about our modern permissive society, we have “substituted INDULGENCE
for discipline.” The result is that our prisons are full to overflowing and our society is inundated
in violent crime.

Discipline Promptly
In Proverbs 19:18, God gives us the principle that applies to disobedient children, juvenile delinquents
or hardened criminals. We are told, “Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying” (Proverbs 19:18). There comes a point for an undisciplined child when there is no (or very little) hope of correcting bad behavior. Often, a delinquent—and finally a hardened criminal—will result because the parents were too soft during their child’s early years, when they had the greatest hope of curbing the child’s self-centered and destructive ways.

As parents and as a society, we are not to “spare for his crying” by lessening the punishment. Proverbs 13:24 admonishes us, “He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him DISCIPLINES HIM PROMPTLY” (NKJV). For the good of society and the individual, swift, stern justice must be meted
out when wrongs are brought to light.

Ecclesiastes 8:11 tells us the importance of swift punishment when it says, “Because sentence against
an evil work is not EXECUTED SPEEDILY, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them
to DO EVIL.” How clear and wise! When wrongdoing is not immediately punished, then all or almost
all of the deterrent value to any subsequent punishment is lost!

As for determining a person’s guilt, there is only one biblical rule: “Whoever kills a person, the
murderer shall be put to death on the testimony of witnesses; but one witness is not sufficient
testimony against a person for the death penalty” (Numbers 35:30; NKJV). Deuteronomy 17:6
agrees: “Whoever is worthy of death shall be put to death on the testimony of two or three witnesses,
but he shall not be put to death on the testimony of one witness” . In God’s eyes, repeated reprieves
and appeals—and now, insistence upon DNA testing to verify guilt—should not be necessary for
death-row inmates.

Ezra 7:26 guides us toward speedy response to crime by stating, “And whosoever will not do the
law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be
unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.”

The criminal mind does not respect authority. The only thing such a person respects is equal or
stronger FORCE! And when that strong force is used immediately to severely punish an offender,
it makes others of like mind think twice before acting likewise.

However, once again, the liberal element in our society says there is little deterrent value in
punishments such as the death penalty. They have a point—but only because of how hesitant
our courts are to use the death penalty!

The Deterrence Factor
No sane man or woman wants to put another person to death. It is understandable to have
a certain degree of pity for someone who is going to die, even if he or she deserves to die.

People who commit crimes are promised a fair trial—NOT a perfect trial. Yet so many of the
habeas corpus appeals (many of which amount to little more than stalling tactics) are procedural
and/or frivolous in nature, nit-picking the court over minor imperfections in court procedure.

Flawed humans will make mistakes. But that must not stop us from following God’s plain commands!
A swift death penalty was intended by our Creator to deter or restrain additional people from com-
mitting the sin of murder. To stop or delay the death penalty because the courts are afraid of making
a mistake is direct disobedience to God and His laws!

Many a career criminal has already proven he cannot “make it” in normal society; and if he murders, rapes, robs and commits general mayhem, SO WHAT? He knows he’ll be provided food and shelter
for the rest of his life so that he never has to work again! Why should he fear to kill? Even though he probably murdered unmercifully, the “merciful” liberals will see to it that HIS life is spared so that
the taxpayers can support him for the next 20, 40 or 60 years in a prison environment where he is “somebody”—a “man among men” so to speak!

We must not get softer on crime, we must get tougher!

The book of Proverbs states, “When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise,”
and “Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware” (Proverbs 21:11; 19:25). People can
learn vicariously from the experiences of others!

The deterrent effect of the death penalty is muted because of current practices. But even
basic understanding of human nature tells us that, if administered properly, the death penalty
would have a significant deterrent effect!

And how easy it is, for human beings whether religious or not, to condemn, pass sentence, punish; use fear as a greater power - than the power of love and all that stems from it, understanding, compassion, kindness, forgiveness. All love stems from God, for God is Love.

Adults crush the love out of younger generations, because they themselves are crushed. They forget that they were born a child, and think that being a hardened adult is superior.

Love and relationship should be a part of a child's curriculum, because many children who grow up in an unloving family know no different. And I believe that, because that is what Jesus taught all of us 'children of God'. Some children never even get to know Jesus while they are young, but if all schools from a societal point of view, taught love and relationship, then Jesus is alive. And if you think that's silly, then what does Maths or English teach anyone about interacting with each other?

..... my kids commonly jump on my bed in the morning and give me hugs and kisses.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww................. another Hallmark moment in Christ's kingdom. :D

God loves us to pray and talk to him and doesn't care if we kneel, look out the window, or lay on our beds. He loves us and that is enough.
Coming Home to a place that Jesus has provided for us in our Father's mansion at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb is enough. :D

Schools do try and teach kids social skills and good teachers show their kids that they are loved. My kids have many good teachers.

I heard on the radio about one teacher that always asked her kids two questions every morning "Are you clean? Have you eaten?"

She worked at a poor neighborhood school and many kids were homeless and couldn't wash laundry or have enough food. So she provided food and clean underwear for them.
It said one day a kid was taken from her class because his parents went to jail. She gave him a bear to take care of. He came back 2 months later clinging the bear and said he never let the bear get lonely.

Story made me cry.

Our local schools have clothes closets and food backpack ministry that provides kids with coats, clothes and food.

So I know many kids know love from school even if it's missing at home.

So this post is mostly about the death penalty.

Do you believe we should follow the old testament laws that tell parents they can stone disobedient children?

I believe there is discipline and correction done God's way and abuse done man's way.

Rapping a kids fingers because they are teaching for a hot pot is discipline and done to prevent more harm.

Hitting their hands until their knuckles are bloody or broken, is abuse.

This thread is about spiritual abuse. An example is a cult leader that abuses their authority and perverts the Bible to justify their rape of young teenage child brides to fulfill their lusts

Spiritual abuse is not sharing your faith with a unbeliever.

It is said that " evil will flourish when good men do nothing". Yet so many know scripture and the right road but remain silent when in the company of non believers.
Who then again is bold enough to stand up against the wolves in sheep's clothing, the preachers of the false doctrines. The antichrists of our time. The soothsayers.
We that know the truth in Christ but refuse to speak it are guilty of abuse also.
I for one am guilty of this and struggle with being the light the Lord has called me to be.
Pointing to Christ as there only hope.
To me I have allowed one to stay in bondage, to be torn by worldly reason. To seek after a lie.
Perhaps I am the only one who feels this way but I have learned as I point the finger at someone else 3 point back at me.

Child abuse triggers | Pannone

I believe that Satan has placed his demon posssessed minions among the church that abuse young Christians so that they have "triggers" that cause them remember the abuse and do a 180 whenever they hear a word or phrase.

His purpose is to divide and isolate people so that they can't be a fully functional parts of the True body of Christ. He uses this tactic to make people avoid churches because of their past negative experiences.

How do you recognize the wolves? The Bible tells us. (will post scriptures when I get a chance)

How do you heal from the abuse or help others heal?

I am not sure. Perhaps you could tell me. I only know God healed me through prayer and love of true born again believers.

I thought if we looked at how physical, emotional and mental abused survivors recover, might help us learn how we might help those who are spiritually abused also.
Its a matter of good and evil- either they will abuse others like they had been, or they will have compassion on others and not want them to suffer as they did. Two opposite responses, because righteousness and unrighteousness respond differently. Whatever the seed is the fruit is. Both Peter and Judas betrayed Christ, but had opposite reactions- Peter looked to God to save him, Judas looked away. Peter was God-centered, Judas was self-centered.

We all sin, and are all sinned against. Until pressure is applied to the fruit, and the juice comes out, the heart that lies inside is not revealed. Being sour produces lemon juice, being sweet produces sweet orange juice. Never was there ever more sweet than Jesus on the cross asking God to forgive them.

You will know them by their fruit, but everyone sins, so you have to look closer. Both Peter and Judas sinned, so what's the difference between the righteous and the unrighteous? The righteous will never give up trying to make it right.

The fruits of the Spirit: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

There it is! Yes , yes, yes, the choice between good and evil, His way or the wrong way.
When evil is done to us we can make the wrong decision to inflict it on others since that is what was done to us, or we can
recognize that it needs to stop there and be Christ Like and not let it be passed on. Oh that we all might be conformed to the image of His Son.
One Faith-bless you for your great post

The Bible tells us you aren't alone in this thought (though some will argue if the term "spiritual abuse" is fitting. The Bible does call it a sin)

James 4:17 ►
New International Version
If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them.
