Romans

13 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. 4 For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to executewrath on him who practices evil. 5 Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.
This would only apply if I was forced by Law to vote like in Brazil. Romans 13 is saying subject yourself to the law of the land. It is saying not to break it's laws. Not voting here in the U.S. is not a crime yet. It might be someday. But I am so thankful to God that I live in a country and time (By God's grace) where I get to say my vote is for Jesus Christ (And nobody else).

But thats the whole point! You vote for that freedom. If not those rights you enjoy may be taken from you.It is the Christian duty to vote.

I don't agree Jason, people who started this country, believed in Christ, and had goals to keep us with the freedom we have " hints, the constitution" , Men and women have actually lost limbs and life for this country and if we don't want to remain slaves to the system and watch the entire middle class get smashed to nothing, we will stand up and make the right choices, on who we think will do the best job to lead us out of this disaster.. On all fronts
While I am thankful for the freedom of worship here in America, the U.S. has never been a true nation under God like the Israelite nation. There was no such thing as being allowed to worship other gods in Israel besides the one true God. America was never chosen by God or even mentioned within His Word by name (or even hinted at as being a Christian nation). I actually believe the 7th Beast Empire Kingdom is the U.S. Just as Rome, Greece, Medo Persia, Babylon, Assyria, and Egypt were all once great world powers (Under the Beast Kingdoms).

I'm not going to vote tomorrow but I'm an Aussie. Here voting is compulsory. If you don't vote you're fined and in extreme cases you receive some jail time.

You can vote for an evil leader if you like; But I vote for Jesus Christ.
Not one place in scripture can you justify your position of not voting. Not one.
It is okay with you if obama and his muslims pals, along with anyone in the world that enters this country illegally, does what they wish, when they wish to me. Me, your neighbor whom Christ told you to love as yourself. It is okay with you if Christianity in schools and government is squashed into oblivion. It is okay with you if people, like that texas mayor, demands preachers turn over all their sermons before they preach them, so that she can see if they disagree with her views.

It is okay with you if marijuana is legalized, allowing other drugs to gain a foothold for the same destination. It is okay with you if Christians are forced to serve homosexuals, forced to perform marriages of homosexuals, forced to let homosexuals dictate to them what they want. It is okay with you if islam is taught in schools while the bible is banned. It is okay with you if a kid accidently chews a pop tart into the vague shape of a gun and gets suspended for it.

You can't deny a word I said. If you weren't for all those evil things, you would have voted against them. But no, you remained silent on the sidelines. Watched silently while evil people had their way with your neighbor and his children. You are guilty by implied consent. You are part of the problem.

Where does it say that in the Bible?
Where does it say in the bible that you should drive a car? You are a foolish man. You have to be instructed to have common sense. How asinine.

I'm not voting. I don't see the Republicans as being any better than the Democrats. Both parties are dragging our country into the sewer so I refuse to bother with either of them.
Very good. As a representative of another Kingdom, I don't vote in the politics of this one. Which party is the party of God?

Jesus is not physically ruling this Earth on a throne like He will be doing within the Millennium. So I vote for Jesus Christ and His coming physical reign on Earth. I also vote in Him physically ruling over the Eternal New Earth, too.
So, in other words Jesus is a write-in candidate for you. I believe that He is currently behind in the polls.

Where does it say that in the Bible?

Top Ten Reasons Why Christians Should Vote:
1. Voting publicly recognizes that we submit to the authority of the political system in our nation as established by God. Romans 13:1-7
2. Voting recognizes the equality of all people and their right to speak and be heard. James 2:1
3. Voting is one way that we can obey God's command to seek the good of those around us and our nation as a whole. Philippians 2:3
4. Voting shows that we care deeply about who our leaders are as we are urged to offer prayer and intercession on their behalf. 1 Timothy 2:1,2
5. Voting is a simple yet significant way we can do something about politics in our nation. ‘All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing, Edmund Burke. Psalms 34:14
6. Voting makes a difference in the same way a grain of salt makes a difference, and that is how we are to influence our society for good. Matthew 5:13
7. Voting is a privilege not to be taken for granted. Those of us who reap the benefits of living in a democracy should play a part in upholding democracy.
8. Not voting is a form of voting, as it will influence the outcome. We need to take responsibility for our actions, as well as our lack of actions. I Peter 1:13
9. Voting is part of our stewardship to use all the resources we have been given in ways that honor God; to waste a vote is to squander a gift.
10. Voting is Biblical. Jesus commands us to fulfill our responsibility to the civil authority. Matthew 22:21

I find myself in agreement with you. This is called pacifism in the performance of civil duty.

That would be the Republican party.
The one that gave us Ronald Reagan? The one who guided this nation by the advice of an astrologer?

Isa 47:13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
Isa 47:14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.

Jer 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

Or George Bush? Remember the guy whose economic policies brought us the Great Recession in 2008?

If you think any party or any man can bring good government, then you apparently don't understand the need to pray thusly...

Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Almost everything that you do in life will not be found specifically in the bible. Your justification for not voting is ludicrous.
Have you ever actually read the Book you just most egregiously misrepresented?

Who have done nothing about gay marriage and abortion.
I agree. That would take a bi-partisan effort. I don't believe that it is possible to legislate morality.

Joh 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
Heb 11:14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
Heb 11:15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
Heb 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
