Because Ephraim [fullness of the gentiles] has made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
I have written to him the great things of my law [Torah], [but] they were counted as a strange thing.
Hosea 8:11-12 (KJV, MBM)

Sorry disciple mike, I was following you up to here, but "Ephraim" is not referring to gentiles as you state. Ephraim today in these modern times are the remnants of the house of Israel whom the Holy father scattered to the four corners of the earth. If one wishes, the migrations of these tribes [which make of the tribes of both houses, Ephraim and Manasseh] can be traced back to their crossing the Caucasus mountains when they were first overthrown. In a sense, all unbelievers are "Gentiles" of which unbelieving Israelites are including, but this which you have quoted from the prophet Hosea is not speaking of that.

Christ is the end of the law for righteousness. You always pick the law of Moses over Christ which is why your religion is anti-Christ in it's beliefs.

If one is going to live by the law - then he is obligated to live by all of it. There are no "parts" to the Law. Saying that some are for us and some are not is just watering down the Law to make it seem "do-able" but in reality "law-keepers" have a very low respect for the Law and in fact break the law every day.

Romans 10:4-5 (NASB)

[SUP]4 [/SUP] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

[SUP]5 [/SUP] For Moses writes that the man who practices the righteousness which is based on law shall live by that righteousness.

We have died to the Law SO THAT we might live unto God.

Galatians 2:19 (NASB)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] "For through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live to God.

There is no justification or right standing with God because one "keeps the law". Christians live by faith - faith in Christ and what He has already done and we live by His life in us now.

Galatians 3:11 (NASB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] No
w that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, "THE RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."

The Law is NOT of faith and if you practice the Law - you must live by it.

Galatians 3:12 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary, "HE WHO PRACTICES THEM SHALL LIVE BY THEM."

When we are trying to keep the law of which circumcision is a part of - we are obligated to keep the whole law (
Remember there are NO PARTS to the law - it is either all or live by Christ by grace through faith in His finished work on the cross and resurrection )

Galatians 5:3 (KJV)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole
law.

We can trust the Holy Spirit and the life of Christ in us to lead us into life in Him. Let's eat from the tree of Life - which is Christ Himself in us. The Law is eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Choose Christ. He is our life. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Colossians 3:3 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

( your life is NOT in the law of Moses )

Israel exists two fold. [1] physical or earthly, [2] spiritual or heavenly.

The two symbols [Ephraim and Manasseh -sons of Joseph] were used to reflect the future of Israel. The younger "Ephraim" was given the blessing [two fold ] over the elder Manasseh which is actually against the order that God set down saying that the double blessing would go the elder son. This was by design, for it reveals that in the latter days [these modern times], the house of Israel would become divided and the blessing of the end times [Christ] would not go to Manasseh [the house of Jacob which is the physical house of Israel], but would go rather to the younger Ephraim whom represents the house of Abraham which is the spiritual house of Israel. This is the house that is known today as the body of Christ. Remember, Israel was scattered and mixed with all nations over the generations because of unbelief. They [the 10 tribes] have lost their identity and truly do not know who they are, but God has promised that in the latter days He would open their eyes and be their God again. This is not speaking of the Church, for when the Lord heals the house of Jacob, the Church [that is still here, 1 Cor chapter 15] will be joining Christ.

The nation of Israel that exists today is made up of only two remnants [tribes] that remained through the generations.

Judah and Benjamin.

Where and who are the other 10 ???

I find it interesting where Jesus as the true Word of God changed the Old Covenant wording to reflect the true intention of the words in Deut. 6:4-5.

Jesus also changed the wording of the Old Covenant when He said to the devil " You shall worship the Lord your God and serve Him only". Deut. 6:13 says "You shall fear the Lord your God....".

Jesus as the true Word of God has the right to interpret what the scriptures mean and He does that by changing the words sometimes to reflect this truth.

Jesus often did this when giving the self-righteous people Moses 2.0 - or Moses on steroids to bring them to see that they really can't keep the Law. As in lusting in your heart is what He calls adultery and being angry with someone is murdering them. This is classic Jesus being the greatest Law preacher to reveal sin and their need for a Savior.

I would say that the application of Romans 12:2 is why Jesus "included" the mind - it's in the "renewing of the mind" to the truths that have to do with Christ is where we experience true transformation.

Romans 12:2 (NASB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

2 Corinthians 3:6
Who also has made us able ministers of the new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.

It should be very clear here that Paul is teaching about the “new covenant.” Paul actually refers to it by name in verse 6. We can not ignore this. Now we have Paul not only directly referencing the new
covenant but also using prophetic language that details the expected changes in the new covenant. This can only mean that Paul is teaching how the law of God is written on our heart (Jer. 31:33, Ez. 36:27), not how the law of God is abolished. What is written (all of it) on our heart simply can not also be the same thing that is abolished.

The question remains, how does God give us the desire or spirit to want to observe the Law of God? How does He write it on our hearts?

This is the part that many miss because they do not understand the whole point of the New Covenant. The New Covenant is not a new law replacing an abolished law, but instead a new heart to replace a stony heart that rejects the Law of God.

In order for the New Covenant to be successful, God must do something to give us the desire to observe Gods law. We need to determine what God did that changed everything.

The letter of the law is designed to kill us by exposing our sin. The law must kill us so that we may be born again. Once we are found dead in Christ and we become the “new man” and we are “born again” in the faith, we then begin to love God. Loving God is defined by keeping His commandments.

1 John 5:3
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Scripture does not teach that God’s law was a problem and thus we needed a new law.

Scripture teaches that our hearts were a problem and we needed a new heart. With that, our eyes are opened to what Paul is teaching which is simply prophecy becoming reality. When we look at the reality through the lens of prophecy, what was already written to come, then Paul becomes easy to understand.

However, if we continue to read Paul not through the lens of the Word of God and prophets, but through the lens of the doctrines of men and whatever seminaries are teaching, then Paul is difficult to understand and generates lawlessness (sin)(2 Peter 3:15-17).

We know exactly what God's commandments are in the New Covenant - and it is NOT the law of Moses. John who said that His commands are not grievous in chapter 1 John 5:3, had told us earlier exactly what those commandments are:

1 John 3:23 (NASB)
[SUP]23 [/SUP] This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.

We need to get our minds out of the keeping of the law of Moses and into the law of Christ Himself - He is the One on and in our hearts now.

The law written on our hearts is NOT the law of Moses - it is Christ Himself.

Here are the links that show these truths in the New Covenant.

The Law Written on Our Hearts is not the Ten Commandments

There is only one commandment of the ten that Christians refuse to accept. Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.

So, let's see if I understand your reasoning. Christ is now called the Sabbath and if you have invited Christ into your heart, you can't follow God's commandments because Christ in your heart is satisfying all of God's requirements for you.

The problem was not the commandments, it was with people who are stiffened and hard hearted. A new heart is needed and because Christ makes His home in your heart, you would be cheating on Christ if you loved God by keeping the Torah.

Is that what you are conveying?

Does God Change?

Malachi 3:5"Then I will draw near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers and against the adulterers and against those who swear falsely, and against those who oppress the wage earner in his wages, the widow and the orphan, and those who turn aside the alien and do not fear Me," says the LORD of hosts. 6"For I, the LORD, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed. 7"From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you," says the LORD of hosts. "But you say, 'How shall we return?'…

Is Jesus the arm of God?

Isaiah 53:
The Suffering Servant
1Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? 2For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.…

John 12:
Belief and Unbelief
37Although Jesus had performed so many signs in their presence, they still did not believe in Him. 38This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: “Lord, who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” 39For this reason they were unable to believe.

Is Jesus "God with us"?

Matthew 1:
23“Behold! The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”).

Hebrews 13:
Christ's Unchanging Nature
7Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. 8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Who was Jesus yesterday?

John 1:
The Beginning(Genesis 1:1-2)1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. 3Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. 4In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcomea it.

Has the Word changed God's Laws?

Deuteronomy 12:Warning against Idolatry
31"You shall not behave thus toward the LORD your God, for every abominable act which the LORD hates they have done for their gods; for they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.32"Whatever I command you, you shall be careful to do; you shall not add to nor take away from it.

Deuteronomy 4:
An Exhortation to Obedience
1"Now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which I am teaching you to perform, so that you may live and go in and take possession of the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, is giving you.2"You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God whichI command you.

Jesus would be a sinner if He changed the law. Paul is a saved sinner who appears to change the law.

He isn't God if His commands changed.
Abraham did not have the Law of Moses.. So stating that God never changes and then equating the change between the OT and the NT to be false because God never changes is simply wrong..

Your attack on Paul is noted..

The old testament is the new testament hidden...the new testament is the old revealed.

It's good news that God is never changing...we don't have to wonder if we got all the new updates.
That means that he is rock solid in his love for you. So much so he came to personal tell you.
Jesus fulfilled the law for us as no on else could. Taking on the sins of man he ripped that veil that separated you from God. He died and was resurrected on the third day to give us life as a new creation that was promised in the old testament and designed before the foundations of the earth.
Thank God he's never changing his focus was on all who would believe.

Great peace have those who love your law;
nothing can make them stumble.
I hope for your salvation, [Yeshuah], O YHVH,
and I do your commandments.
Psalms 119:165-166 (ESV2011, MBM)

so, you never stumble?

you don't realize that the author was praising the law BECAUSE it was God's?

wake up and praise the CREATOR and not what He created!!!

On the contrary - real Christians that believe in Christ's finished work and do remember that Christ has fulfilled the whole law including the Sabbath and we keep it holy by being in Him. Law-keepers are exchanging the law ( including the Sabbath) for Christ.

The law did it's job and led us to Christ. The real Christian has died to the Law of Moses so that we could be joined to Christ Himself.

We can trust the law of Christ in us now. We can trust the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. that is in our hearts now. We can trust the Holy Spirit to led and guide us.

Paul who knew the law better then anyone had this to say about the purpose of the law.

The purpose of the law was :

1) To reveal our sinful state. Rom 3:20

2) To inflame sin Rom 7:8

3) To minister death in us Rom 7:10-11

4) To lead us to Christ Gal 3:24

The law is good, holy and spiritual but we are in the flesh. Jesus fulfilled all the law! When we read the law we should be seeing Jesus in it. Jesus did not save us so that we could go back to the law.

But the purpose of the law was not for righteousness or salvation at all, it was to manifest sin in our lives, so that the purpose of grace which is in Jesus is to manifest salvation. Grace does not set aside the law, but completely satisfied it.

People are free to do whatever they want in relation to the Law - it does not make one righteous nor is it for salvation.

If someone wants to observe a particular day or eat or not eat some kinds of foods..etc - then they are free to do so. These have no bearing on one's salvation or righteousness as all that is based on the finished work of Christ.

It's where people are saying "You must observe these things or do these things in the Law or you are not obeying God" - that's where the twisting comes in and it is a perversion of the gospel of the grace of Christ.

Scripture teaches that our hearts were a problem and we needed a new heart. With that, our eyes are opened to what Paul is teaching which is simply prophecy becoming reality. However, if we continue to read Paul not through the lens of the Word of God and prophets, but through the lens of the doctrines of men and whatever seminaries are teaching, then Paul is difficult to understand and generates lawlessness (sin)(2 Peter 3:15-17).

oh boy

Scripture teaches that NO PERSON can KEEP THE law

we have a separation from God problem...actually it is a death sentence

it is our SPIRITS that God renews when we accept His Son as our Savior...the heart is often used in the Bible to symbolize our wills...our personalities...in fact, our souls..

When we look at the reality through the lens of prophecy, what was already written to come, then Paul becomes easy to understand.
well, it seems that when you and your teaching lawkeepers look at prophecy, you come up with some kind of combo law/grace and unfulfilled works of Christ conclusion ... NOT truth!!!

no one can come to salvation unless the Father draws that person

the Holy Spirit is the One who draws us...He is the seal of our inheritance...by God's own hand

your teaching has forsaken the truth for a manmade doctrine that is not going to save anyone...it is very dangerous and probably fits the NT warnings about 'doctrines of demons'

you cannot fool someone who has an Old Testament foundation and has built their understanding of the New Testament over it...which is what God intended

your method is to stitch verses together...out of context...from both testaments...and twist them to fit your unbiblical doctrines. it seems the devil has convinced you that Christ is not the fulfillment of the law...you seem to think your sad efforts are the completion and you are still waiting when even actual Jewish folk reject such nonsense because they have come to a SAVING KNOWLEDGE of Christ...and not the contrived ungodly message you folk have come up with

you have been badly deceived if you think there is anything you can do to warrant any type of redemption by keeping something that is dead to those in Christ

you are outside of Christ if you believe He alone is not enough or there is anything still left for Him to do

so you see, God has NOT changed at all...His plans continue, and you are stuck in ignorance of God's plan of redemption for mankind

Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All

1The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. 2Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins.

3But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins. 4It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

5Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
but a body you prepared for me;
6with burnt offerings and sin offerings
you were not pleased.
7Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—
I have come to do your will, my God.’ ”

8First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—though they were offered in accordance with the law.

9Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.

12But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool.14For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

15The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:16“This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”[SUP]b[/SUP]

17Then he adds:“Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more.”

18And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.

Hebrews

there is truth for all who actually wish to have it. the Bible could not be clearer. do not listen to those who try to sway you with words that sound good, because they appear moral, but be cleansed by the washing of the word...the Bible...the truth that has been delivered to us once for all!

Amen

When we look at the reality through the lens of prophecy, what was already written to come, then Paul becomes easy to understand.
Scripture teaches that man is the problem and that Jesus is the solution to us, not the Law. If you understood what Paul teaches you would understand that.

However, if we continue to read Paul not through the lens of the Word of God and prophets, but through the lens of the doctrines of men and whatever seminaries are teaching, then Paul is difficult to understand and generates lawlessness (sin)(2 Peter 3:15-17).
Paul was writing from within the context of the new covenant, not the old, and it is from within that context that it must be seen if it is to be understood.

What is this law that is written on our hearts if it is NOT the ten commandments?
( hint - it's Christ Himself - He has the preeminence in all things and He is our life now in the New Covenant)

Many Christians are afraid to make the jump from preaching the law to preaching Christ. (I can say this because I was once such a Christian) When we have Jesus., we do His will from a pure heart (HIS) He changes our minds to reflect His each day as we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. We have been given a new heart, now we have to learn 'how' to walk in that newness of life and heart. We being human have only ever walked in our flesh., now we need to learn how to walk in the Spirit.

Many many Christians are fearful of such talk because they actually do believe keeping the law., being good., being and doing righteous stuff is what brings salvation and keeps salvation and pleases God. They have never heard that their righteousness is a GIFT. That the standing that we have now as believers is because of and ONLY because of Christ Jesus. That when we focus on the Son and give Him the credit., that is when God is pleased and blesses us.

Making the jump or leap of faith to believe that it is in fact CHRIST JESUS and His righteousness which brings salvation and keeps salvation on our behalf. When we follow Him we always will do what is right. He is the focus., not the law., not the works.

Sadly, that is why many believers are not walking in the blessing and favor of God because they are falsely believing it is their own righteousness that brings honor and glory to God. It is ONLY when we rest at all times on Jesus righteousness given to us as a beautiful gift when we do in truth give glory to Him.

The law came by Moses., but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Tell us disciplemike what Laws are we to keep. Give us a list of every Law God insists we have to keep.

I know you will not do this because it will expose you as to your true nature that you are not a True Believer walking with Jesus.

The reason His commandments are not grievous for Christians is because He who IS love lives in us, and has shed His love abroad in our hearts. We live by faith in Jesus Christ and His love for us begets love from us....and love is the fulfillment of the Law.
