Shalom, yes im bringing this subject back. What ever happened to the Ark of the Covenant? Some say it was destroyed by the Babylonian, some say king josiah hid it from the babylonions, some say its in a small village in Ethiopia under protection of their government....i still wonder how the jewish heritage arrived there, anywho, what are your thoughts on this....

Do the Jews need it to rebuild the temple? That is, is it mandatory to be a part of the temple?

Possibly located in the heavenly sanctuary where Jesus serves?

Rev 11:19
Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.

I believe it was taken back to heaven, & it is there to this day; because of this scripture :

Revelation 11:19-19
King James Version (KJV)

19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple "the ark of his testament" : and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

I believe it was taken at the time they took Elijah . It was taken when Elijah went to heaven; in the whirlwind/ chariot of fire.

2 Kings 2:11

King James Version (KJV)

11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

I believe it is in heaven. I believe that it is not on Earth anymore .That is my opinion about it .

I confess, a buddy of mine has it in his garage out in Franklin County. He'll bring it out and touch it sometimes to prove it no longer holds the Holy Spirit, or so he tells me.

It could be the years of moonshine consumption that has led him to think this way though.

The one on earth was a copy the original is in heaven. The only thing that made it holy was the presence of God there. Israel thought it would help them win battles with it but still lost and the ark was taken at one stage by the Philistines.

Some claim that the Ark of the Covenant has been found in a cave directly under the spot where Jesus was crucified. And a crack in the rock "the rocks were rent" (Matthew27:51) allowed the blood of Jesus to trickle down and fall onto the Ark, fulfulling the prophecy that the blood of Christ would be the last sacrifice.
and there is a prophecy in the book of Maccabees concerning the Ark of the Covenant. The prophecy states the ark will be found when God gathers the Israelites back to their own land, in the last days, which was probably taken from the Jewish word of mouth tradition. The true test of the Maccabean books will be to see if the prophecy concerning the lost ark comes true.

to make a long story short...the person who made this claim was discredited...he made it all up...

"The Council of the Garden Tomb Association (London) totally refute the claim of Mr. Wyatt to have discovered the original Ark of the Covenant or any other biblical artifacts within the boundaries of the area known as the Garden Tomb Jerusalem. Though Mr. Wyatt was allowed to dig within this privately owned garden on a number of occasions (the last occasion being the summer of 1991) staff members of the Association observed his progress and entered his excavated shaft. As far as we are aware nothing was ever discovered to support his claims nor have we seen any evidence of biblical artifacts or temple treasures."

But he said it was true, what would London or his very own crew know? Wasnt it on tv? sheesh.

personally i think the ark of the covenant was most likely destroyed by the babylonians...the gold torn off and the wood just burned up...

i don't think the ark of the covenant that appears in heaven in revelation is the same one moses had built...

2 Chronicles 12:9 KJV
(9) So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house; he took all: he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

This text shows the original ark was taken to Egypt.

But wouldnt it still have effect of God's spirit upon it that those who touch it would die? Or it had no effect anymore in the OT, state your case please or your opinion more, seems interesting that they could have destroyed it

I don't believe all of his stuff was " made up " .. It's impossible to get to it now, he said he knew where it was.. because where it is at now is holy ground and you can't get access to go digging there.

The text says he took away all the treasures of the house of the Lord and that included the ark. They probably made another after that but the original made in the time of Moses was taken to Egypt.

If that be true, then the story of it now being in Ethiopia makes sense, because they believe that it first arrived in egypt in a small town, with devoted priestly hebrews taking it, then brought it down to ethiopia i dont know exactly when

I agree, the earthly ark was only a:
Exodus 25:40 And see that thou make them after their pattern, which is being shown thee in the mount.

Hebrews 8:5 They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."

Matthew 27:51 KJV
(51) And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

The presence of God is no longer with the earthly it is no in the heavenly.

Hebrews 9:11 KJV
(11) But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

I have seen about Ethiopia and it is not the original. When Egyptians were buried they were buried with there treasures and that being the case the one from Egypt who took the ark would have been buried with it. Nearly all the graves were taken by robbers only a few of the Egyptians tombs remained intact.
