Zone: "what's "Baptized in the Spirit"? explain it to me in simple terms. thanks zone"

Read Chapter 2 of Acts. Read the other chapters in Acts that deal with baptism of the Holy Spirit (9, 10, 19). This is what the 120 waited for. They had already been baptized in water for the repentance of sins.
Consider Mt 3: 10-11 (John speaking to Pharisees and Sadducees: "[SUP]11[/SUP]I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me (Jesus) is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire" And Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to the 120 that waited for it. It was for ALL of them, not just the apostles. It was for those that BELIEVED what He said...that He would send the Comforter and Counselor.

That is a simple as I can make it...right out of God's word. It IS for you Zone. It is not occult or scarry. It is EMPOWERMENT FROM GOD to DO His Word. And with it comes greater revelation/understanding of His Word. Do you want it or will you be content...CONTENT? with mediocure Christianity? Are you doing the Word? laying hands on the sick, winning souls to the Kingdom, casting out demons? How strongly do you want to be used of God? Do you want to be able to CAST OFF a spirit of depression/oppression from a fellow Christian? It is yours, waiting for you.

C. Peter Wagner
Charles Peter Wagner (born 1930) is a Christian theologian, missiologist, missionary, writer, teacher, and church growth specialist best known for his controversial writings on spiritual warfare.[citation needed]

Wagner served as a missionary in Bolivia under the South American Mission and Andes Evangelical Mission (now SIM International) from 1956 to 1971. He then served for 30 years (1971 to 2001) as Professor of Church Growth at the Fuller Theological Seminary's School of World Missions until his retirement in 2001. He is the author of more than 70 books. He was the president of Global Harvest Ministries from 1993 to 2011 and is currently the chancellor emeritus of Wagner Leadership Institute, which serves to train leaders to join in a movement known as the New Apostolic Reformation, an organization Wagner also helped to found. He is currently the vice president of Global Spheres Inc.

Wagner wrote about spiritual warfare, in books including Confronting the Powers: How the New Testament Church Experienced the Power of Strategic-Level Spiritual Warfare and Engaging the Enemy. In Confronting the Powers, Wagner breaks down spiritual warfare as having three levels: "Ground Level: Person-to-person, praying for each other's personal needs. Occult Level: deals with demonic forces released through activities related to Satanism, witchcraft, astrology and many other forms of structured occultism. Strategic-Level or Cosmic-Level: To bind and bring down spiritual principalities and powers that rule over governments."[1] "Strategic-level intercession" uses "spiritual mapping" and "tearing down strongholds" to engage in spiritual warfare against "territorial spirits"[2]

According to Wagner, these methods "were virtually unknown to the majority of Christians before the 1990s”.[3] The premise of Engaging the Enemy is that Satan and his demons are literally in the world, that Satan's territorial spirit-demons may be identified by name, and that Christians are to engage in spiritual warfare with them.[4]

In Hard-Core Idolatry: Facing the Facts, Wagner asserts that Catholic saints bring honor to the spirits of darkness, and promotes the burning of their statues in Argentina. Wagner asserts that the Holy Spirit came to his associate, Cindy Jacobs (a "prophet" in Wagner’s Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders) and "told her that in [the Argentinian city of] Resistencia they must burn the idols, like the magicians did in Ephesus".[5]

Chuck Pierce brings a prophetic word for Louisiana and E. Texas.
"Glory Nights"
June 2, 2010

uh...could anyone interpret this?
what is he talking about?
3 minutes is enough.
False prophet testifying of claiming that God will be manifesting His Presence as to where He is and thus going against scripture.

1 John 4:1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: [SUP]3[/SUP]And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. [SUP]4 [/SUP]Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. [SUP]5 [/SUP]They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. [SUP]6 [/SUP]We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Matthew 24:[SUP]23 [/SUP]Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. [SUP]24 [/SUP]For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. [SUP]25 [/SUP]Behold, I have told you before. [SUP]26 [/SUP]Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

Any manifestation of the Spirit will only bring about this good report.

1 Corinthians 14:[SUP]24 [/SUP]But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: [SUP]25 [/SUP]And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

It is in according to our faith which we are to keep.

2 Corinthians 13:[SUP]5 [/SUP]Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

So disregard that message because it is not of Him.

1 John 2:[SUP]18 [/SUP]Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. [SUP]19 [/SUP]They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. [SUP]20 [/SUP]But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. [SUP]21 [/SUP]I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.....[SUP]27 [/SUP]But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. [SUP]28 [/SUP]And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

If those wayward believes continue in this apostasy, shame will come when the Bridegroom appears because He will be taking the ready bride to where He is now with the Father so there is no place on earth where He will be.

John 14:1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. [SUP]2 [/SUP]In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [SUP]3 [/SUP]And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

It is after the great tribulation that Christ will be returning with the raptured saints, setting His foot on the Mount of Olive.

Why doesn't somebody call that amphitheater, and see if such an assembly as prophesied ever happened in the time span forecast?

hi Ken.
would that prove anything other than that ppl heard it, passed on the info, and people assembled?
even if it did come to pass, it's not proof of anything.
'specially if lots of ppl follow those guys.
course it'll come to pass (maybe)....it's a network.
certain people follow and obey these guys.

if ppl are looking for prophets and signs and mantles and stuff, they go where it's forecast to happen.
the glory realm...thing.

Ken...like the Pensacola thing.
tons of ppl showed up.
the network planned it, and the ppl who like that stuff lined up.

that doesn't prove anything concerning God.

So true zone.

Also the fact a when prophecy comes to pass doesnt make it from God according to clear teaching
from God in Deuteronomy 13

God calls it a test. Test for what? To see where your hearts at. So you better look at the message and who its pointing to.
All i see is a promise to make life better, get glory on yourself and a myriad of selfcentered, selfpleasing, selfglorifying lures.

The book of acts has them gathered thanking God and asking Him for
more boldness to go out and get thir tails kicked, while some went off
to be human candles or something.

Far cry from that these days where alot of crowds people go crazy about are nothing more
than what Jesus said. "you came for the fish and the bread"

but you have to allow for the unreached jungle-and-cave-dwellers.
that's where the raising of the dead and healing cloths and new revelation and authoritative epistles are.

for some reason missionaries are going there without the scriptures or translators.

Can't help but wonder how many of today's "apostles" are going to die the same manner of death as the true apostles of old did ? I'm also curious as to how many people have been healed by merely passing thru today's apostles shadows ? Anybody out there know how many ? This is exciting :)

There is never any power without humility, trust in the Lord and OBEDIENCE.

"Receiving" the Spirit:
Acts 10 [SUP]47 [/SUP]“Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?”[SUP]48 [/SUP]And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. So here we see that there were some that did receive the Holy Spirit that had not yet been baptized in water.
And in Chapter 19
19 It happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus, and found some disciples. [SUP]2 [/SUP]He said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? this asks if they received empowerment WHEN they were converted to Christ” And they said to him, “No, we have not even heard whether [SUP][a][/SUP]there is a Holy Spirit.” [SUP]3 [/SUP]And he said, “Into what then were you baptized? This tells us that these people WERE baptized before this encounter with Paul” And they said, “Into John’s baptism.” [SUP]4[/SUP]Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” [SUP]5 [/SUP]When they heard this, they were baptized [SUP][b][/SUP]in the name of the Lord Jesus. [SUP]6 [/SUP]And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying. [SUP]7 [/SUP]There were in all about twelve men.
Baptism of the Holy Spirit (different from receiving the Holy Spirit upon salvation) is done with the laying on of hands.
And if you HAD received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, NONE of what the Wagners and Chuck Pierce say would sound strange...you would have understanding and revelation.
So you can CHOOSE to not to ask for His Gift of the Holy Spirit and continue in mediocrity...which, sad to say, is what most on this site are doing, OR you can ask someone that does believe in this BIBLICAL baptism to lay hands on you and impart the GIFT of the Holy Spirit so that you Can be a DOER (James 1:22-23) of His Word.
