You have the number wrong! There are 613 (SIX HUNDRED THIRTEEN) commandments!

https://www.alltheinternet.com/?q=613+laws+in+the+Old+Testament&ref=12192017100131&p=

https://www.alltheinternet.com/?q=no+one+can+keep+all+of+the+law&ref=12222017000659&p=
We only have 10 given by GOD personally to which He added no more Deut 5v22....the rest were given through Moses contained in Ordinances/works and have been dealt with on the cross Eph 2v15 and Col 2v14.
No...we do not have 613 works-based commandments but 10 eternal and spiritual ones of

Are you Jewish? If not, do you "Keep Holy the Sabbath?" Do you or anyone affiliated with your household do any WORK on the Sabbath, which would NOT be keeping the Sabbath holy?
Doing the work of God on the Sabbath is correct. Jesus healed on the Sabbath. The first day of Tabernacles was a Sabbath, and they built booths on that day. I'm sure there was a lot of perspiration, bruising, and sore muscles that accompanied that day. Take up your bed and walk.

No. Only the Ten Commandments -- the moral and spiritual laws of God -- are effective at all times. And if you will take the time to study Acts 15, only four of those 613 (or whatever) commandments are still binding (which was even true at the time of Noah).

We are assuming that Ramban (Maimonides) counted all the commandments accurately came up with 613. Someone needs to verify and confirm that, but the Old Covenant has been rendered obsolete.

By the mainstream preachers of our time, yes, they have declared the Gospel of Christ which Paul called the Old Testament in Rom. 1, obsolete. But Jesus said God's Word is forever.

The old testament, or Gospel of Christ, as Paul calls it, is where the righteousness and the wrath of God is revealed. There is only one power on earth that would wish to destroy the scriptures where these are found and it isn't the Spirit of Christ.

chapter 4 there is talking about entering God's rest - the dialogue starts with the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day, and exposes it immediately as a shadow, saying they did not enter His rest, and that Joshua did not give them rest: therefore the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day was not a shadow of entering Canaan, but of something greater.

is Psalm 95 about the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day? because Hebrews 4 is about the same thing Psalm 95 is -

For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.
Today, if you would hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah,
As in the day of Massah in the wilderness,
When your fathers tested Me,
They tried Me, though they had seen My work.
For forty years I loathed that generation,
And said they are a people who err in their heart,
And they do not know My ways.
Therefore I swore in My anger,
Truly they shall not enter into My rest.

(Psalm 95:7-11)

to enter His rest.
the author of Hebrews quotes this, and teaches us explicitly that by this the LORD has appointed another day, calling it "
today"
i personally believe you can read Hebrews 4 every day of the week and it remains true.
do you think you can only read this chapter on saturdays, otherwise it is lying? because it says without question that "
today" is appointed by Him ((v. 7)). what do you do on a tuesday, when you read this? do you tell yourself, by "today" surely he means four days from now??

from this argument, there is therefore a rest that remains for the people of God: and the scripture says expressly, we who have believed do enter that rest ((v. 3)), and that we who enter that rest have ceased from our own works ((v. 10)). He is showing the reality which a right understanding of the shadow should reveal, if we would hear it.

Concerning Him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain,
since you have become dull of hearing.

(Hebrews 5:11)

who is it that he says is become dull of hearing? the one who must be taught again the first principles of Salvation: and this is an elementary principle: in Him you have died, so that you are not under Law, but grace; a free gift, not the wages of works, so that all boasting is destroyed and that He Himself is all in all.
IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE!!!!!!!

But if you do as they did and rebel against the Voice of God. If you create images of God in the likeness of a golden calf or the likeness of some men's hair shampoo model, or you create your own "Feasts unto the Lord" as they did and were destroyed in the wilderness, or of you reject God's "Path" and create your own, then you will suffer the same fate as them.

Heb. 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

How do we know they didn't have Faith in God? Because they rejected His Voice and His Instruction and created their own.

There is a "rest" for the people of God which none of us have entered yet, Jesus has, but we haven't and neither has Abraham.

8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

The "Other Day" is His 2nd coming. He warns that "MANY" will say to Him in "THAT DAY" Lord, Lord, didn't we create beautiful images of God in your name etc. etc. You know the scripture.

Heb. 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

So as David and the Author of Hebrews said. "TODAY" if you hear MY VOICE, don't reject it like you did yesterday.

6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Today if you hear His Voice, harden not your hearts.

LOVING GOD AND NEIGHBOUR
Neither one of these are part of those ten.

Yet Jesus says they are greater than all ten.

They are both part of the 613, one from Deuteronomy 6 and the other from Leviticus 19.

The Law says circumcision is greater than the sabbath, because it must be done on the 8th day even if it is a sabbath.

Jesus affirms this.

The 8th day is greater then the 7th day

But scripture also says circumcision is nothing.

0 is greater? Do the math.

'the 8th day' - that's what the early believers called the day they met to share in the Lord's Supper

LOL,

So now you are preaching God's Law says Circumcision is greater than God's Holy, Sanctified, and Set Apart Sabbath He created for man.

So your Jesus is now "Lord of the 8th Day"?

Fascinating.

There is no day He is not Lord.

John 7:22-23
Moses gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. If on the Sabbath a man receives circumcision, so that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me because on the Sabbath I made a man's whole body well?

Hey studyman. Study, man.

Hey studyman. Study, man.
And by this one scripture you have deemed the rest of the Word nullified and now Circumcision is greater than one of the 10 Commandments.

OK, it’s your doctrine. But FYI, the Bible doesn’t teach this.

The Decalogue is part of the Sinai Covenant ((Genesis 19:5)). Circumcision is a sign of the Abraham Covenant ((Genesis 17)). Study the scripture, Studyman - which does it say is the greater covenant?

Beacus they are doing the will of YHWH:

Isaiah 58:11-14, "YHWH will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and make fat; (strengthen), your bones. You will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. And those of you will rebuild the old waste places; you will raise up the foundations of many generations; and you will be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In; If you turn away your foot from breaking the Sabbath: from doing your pleasure; your own business, your own pleasure, on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight; the holy day of YHWH honorable, and will honor Him by not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor engaging in idle conversation: Then you will find your joy in YHWH; and I will cause you to ride on the high places of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Yaaqob your father, for the mouth of YHWH has spoken it."

Mat 12:12, "And how much more valuable is a man than a sheep? Therefore, it is Lawful to do righteousness on the Sabbath."

This does not teach us to

A. Abolish the Sabbath

B. Change it to a different day

C. Make Jesus our Sabbath (sounds nice but it is not Scriptual)

D. Make every day the "Sabbath" as it is impossible, nobody can set apart every day as holy/set apart to YHWH. 1. Only YHWH can set apart a day. 2. We have work, chores, errands, etc. While mowing the lawn, doing dishes, cleaning the bathroom, etc are not sin, they are also not the will of YHWH thuis doing these things is not the will of YHWH, the 7th day Sabbath is set aside for the will of YHWH. ANy who calimn to set aside every day are not being honest and propbably don't set aside any day as they clearly don't understand what it means.

Circumcision was given long before the sabbaths, yet in Christ neither circumcision nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love
Deuteronomy 10:16, “And you shall circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and harden your neck no more.”

Galatians 5:5-6, “For we, in Spirit, by belief, eagerly wait for the expectation of righteousness. For in Messiah יהושע neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any strength, but belief working through love."

1 Corinthians 7:19, The circumcision is naught, and the uncircumcision is naught, but the guarding of the commands of Yah does matter!”

Yet the Sabbath was set apart at Creation:

Genesis 2:1-3, “Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their array. And in the seventh day the Mighty One completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And the Mighty One blessed the seventh day and set it apart, because on it He rested from all His work which the Mighty One in creating had made.”

This does not cancel out other Instructions from YHWH, it's purpose is to focus on Him and His Instructions. To use the Sabbath to cease from the remaining part of YHWH's Instructions (as the Pharisees did) is to break the intent of the Sabbath.

The 7th day Sabbath is STILL looking forward to the rest in Yah that none have yet entered, the rest Yahshua offers that none have yet entereed.

2 Thessalonians 1:5-10, “Clear evidence of the righteous judgment of יהוה, in order for you to be counted worthy of the reign of יהוה, for which you also suffer, since יהוה shall rightly repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give you who are afflictedrest with us when the Master יהושע is revealed from heaven with His mighty messengers, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know יהוה, and on those who do not obey the Good News of our Master יהושע Messiah, who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Master and from the esteem of His strength, when He comes to be esteemed in His set-apart ones and to be admired among all those who believe in that Day, because our witness to you was believed.”

2 Peter 3:8, “But, beloved ones, let not this one matter be hidden from you: that with יהוה one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

And He comes to us like the rain, like the latter rain watering the earth.”

Blessed and set-apart is the one having part in the first resurrection. The second death possesses no authority over these, but they shall be priests of YHWH and of Messiah, and shall reign with Him a thousand years."

The real rest, that the Sabbath looks forward to, that none have yet entered into is this:

Revelation 14:13, "And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me: Write: Blessed are the dead, the ones dying in the Messiah from now on! Yes, says the Spirit: because they will rest from their labors, and their works do follow them!"

It is a training tool for the will of Yah that makes us more like He wants us to be, and only those who are in His will enter the rest, in this life and the next.

One is not against the other. Jesus was mocking the Law of the Mainstream Preachers of His Time who, like you, had created their own Sabbath requirements. It was never against God to circumcise, or help a brother, or eat a grape while on a Sabbath walk.

Like you, they had created their own Sabbath.

Except again, you are creating your own Covenant. The Priesthood was the only thing that changed between the old and New covenant. How God’s Laws are administered, and how sins are forgiven. Any more than that is you justifying your man made traditions by adding or taking away from scripture.

Read Jer. 31 and Heb. 7 where the God that created the New Covenant speaks to it and show me where more than the Priesthood has changed.

To use the Sabbath to cease from the remaining part of YHWH's Instructions (as the Pharisees did)

The Pharisees circumcised according to the 8th day even if it fell on the 7th. Jesus said so, exposing their hypocrisy in judging what He did on the Sabbath by using their obedience in this command - which superseded the Sinai command, having come from God to Abraham long before the 7th day came from God through Moses.

They put the Abrahamic covenant above the Sinai one, and Christ didn't correct them for doing so.

In Romans 4 Paul destroyed the idea that Israel was saved because they were circumcised. He pointed out that Abraham was declared righteous before circumcision was ever given. They didn't think they were saved by sabbath, they thought they were saved by circumcision. They told Jesus, we are sons of Abraham - and correcting them, He called them sons of the Devil. It was about circumcision, not sabbath keeping.
