That does not make sense resurrection33,for when we are in heaven,we are spiritual, with a glorified body, and nothing of the earth pertains,so the only thing we will do is praise God,and give honor to Him,for what else are we going to do,go to the bowling alley and bowl a few games,or go to the movies and watch a good flick,or do anything that has to do with the activities of the world,so why dost thou sayest there is more to it than that, for it cannot be,for no earthly activities will apply, and you say that you believe there is more to it than praising God,but what can there be more, and that is all we are supposed to do now on earth, and the kingdom of God is within you,so all you would be concerned with is the kingdom of God,and not any of the fun of the world.

But that kind of thinking is fleshy, thinking that in heaven it will be more than giving honor to Jesus, and the flesh wanting to enjoy things not pertaining to the kingdom of God in heaven, and we sure do not need to eat for we spiritual not needing the sustenance of food to keep us alive.

But I am sorry for even responding, although I will still reply, but I do not understand why people think that in heaven it will be an earthly type environment, where we enjoy things outside of enjoying the company of Jesus, for the earth passes and all things in it,and when we are in the New Jerusalem, the old earth and old heaven shall not be remembered or come to mind.

We cannot have an earthly viewpoint of the heavenly, and in heaven we praise God for us having salvation in heaven, and that He loves us and wants to fellowship with for eternity, and on earth we praise Him for salvation, and all the spiritual, and natural needs, that we receive, and anything that is good.

In heaven that is the only thing that can apply is praising and giving honor to God,for what other activities are going on.
I think we'd be bored if all we did was praise the Lord. He deserves praise but he also wants us to be happy. I think he'll have activities for us. I enjoy singing in my church choir. I suspect I will do something similar to that in the resurrection.

No need to wonder, the Scripture describes it very plainly.
As it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Cor 2:9 echoed from Isaiah 64:4 :)

On my way home from grocery shopping for breakfasts and lunches for the work week ahead, I heard an old time gospel song on my car radio wherein the singers were singing about the rooms Jesus has promised to prepare for us in the mansions that await our new life following the resurrection and judgment of all, and it occurred to me that mansion does not even really need to mean a large luxurious house, but is a metaphor saying we will have a place where all our needs are met, everything we could ever possibly imagine we need will be provided for us (within the parameters of the new life, of course, all sin and sorrow and suffering and tears having been wiped away)... but of course we cannot imagine it, for a world untouched by the taint of sin is unfathomable to us in the here and now, in this fallen world. That is why my hope is in Him, and I say, even so, come Lord Jesus :)

We can find two resurrections in the Bible, the first the resurrection of life KJVRevelation20;6,Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection; on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priest of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.;The second one resurrection of damnation KJVJohn5;29, And shall come forth;they that done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Hello 20,

There are actually several stages or phases to the first resurrection:

Christ the first fruits - 1 Cor.15:23

The church at his appearing - 1 Thes.4:13-18, 1 Cor.15:51-53

The Male Child/144,000 - Rev.12:5

The two witnesses - Rev.11:11

The Great tribulation saints - Rev.20:4-6

All of the above fall under the banner of the first resurrection or the resurrection which takes place before the one at the end of the millennial period. For those who are resurrected at the end of the thousand years, the second death has power over them. This will be the resurrection of the unrighteous dead throughout all history.

Jesus was the first fruits of the first resurrection and the church is next. Those mentioned in Rev.20:4-6 are the great tribulation saints and will be resurrected after the wrath of God and after Jesus returns to the earth. It is referred to as the first resurrection, but is just one phase of the first resurrection.

The reason that the church cannot be apart of the resurrected of Rev.20:4-6 because it takes place after the wrath of God and after Christ returns to the earth, which would put the church through the entire wrath of God and which we are not appointed to suffer.

Those being resurrected in Rev.20:4-6 is the same group mentioned in Rev.7:9-17, which are those saints who come out of the great tribulation.

The only thing we will do is praise God, for there is no work to be done in heaven, for everything is built by Jesus, and we are spiritual, so nothing will get dirty to clean, and we do not need food service, for we will not eat.
Just FYI,

"People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God."

"I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom."

Opinions, opinions.
You can not produce a single Scripture to prove what you posted as the first resurrection.
Now that is funny, because I listed the scriptures that belong to the first resurrection in the post above. If you have other resurrections mentioned which take place prior to Rev.20:4-6, then the only group that they can belong to is the first resurrection. They are not my opinions, but scriptural fact.

It is a simple matter of process of elimination. Since scripture states that believers are not appointed to suffer God's wrath (1 Thes.1:10, 5:9) and the resurrection of Rev.20:4-6 clearly takes place after the wrath of God and after the Lord returns to end the age, then it is a simple matter of deduction. This comes from comparing and cross-referencing scripture.

Blessings in Christ

Hello Ahwatukee, Thanks for your extra verses for this topic We have two resurrections for and you can find many stages depending on your interpretation but you can't find in Bible third and forth resurrection.
That is because they are not third and fourth, but they all belong to the first resurrection.

All the scriptures have to align we cannot take scriptures out of context the coming Wrath is final judgement , the Wrath is eternal damnation for he had not appointed for Eternal damnation but for everlasting life
Hello Apostle2013,

Though condemning judgment will take place at the great white throne judgment for the unrighteous dead, the wrath that I am referring to is the coming wrath of God that is going to come upon this earth via the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments, where after the 7th bowl judgment, Jesus will return to the earth to end the age. We, the church, are not appointed to suffer that coming wrath or any wrath, for Christ already experienced God's wrath on our behalf.

I have taken nothing out of context, but have listed each resurrection that belongs to the first resurrection.
