The very fact tbat abortion is legalized is immoral and wrong.
I don't disagree, but your OP was about things getting darker, not simply about the current state of the world.

In other words, it's about the legalization of evil. Do you not see it?
I see the statistics that show crime is on a multi-decade decline. So I don't know that the "legalization of evil" is as prominent as you seem to think it is.

The current state of the world is but one link in a chain (or point in time) of our decline morally. Things are not getting better overall morally.

I believe the Bible and I see the world around me and it has gotten worse and not better. You are only looking at one sin. In other words, there still can be a moral decline within a society or culture overall even if the crime rate is down because there are other acts of immorality that such a society or country could be committing. I believe that to be the case with America and other countries. You can see a decline in morals in the Media, Entertainment, Education, Bible Based Faith, and Relationships.

It has always been, I meant Bonnie and Clyde, Al Capone. The difference is that our government now condones it with no regard to God. But not in schools until the school system rejected God as well and now is no longer safe to go to school at any level.

While it is good that you are grateful and enjoy your salvation, what good does it do us if we do not pray or tell others about the lost? That is why we are to be in the world but not of the world. For the greatest as you pointed out is love. Not love of one's self in their salvation alone but in sharing that love with other people. That is what it is all about when we look at the world and or go out into it and we minister to those who are in darkness (Thru prayer and or in thru loving them and telling them the good news).

This is what I was saying in my original post. Your reply suggests you disagree with that.
No, I do not disagree, I simply misunderstood and thought you were speaking to dispair.
Im sorry. :)
As to prayer, I believe we are not just called to prayer and to witness, but to live prayer and witness through serving and speaking to that which is our hope, the work of faith we are called to.
For since sorrows, dispair, sin can bring bring great darkness, it is only in the hope and love of Jesus lived, that His light shines brightly, and as children of God we are each, that which His light shines through by God's power.

It is trully amazing, how darkness cannot exist, as long as there is a single light, for light overcomes all darkness, yet no
darkness, can overcome any light. :)

Hopefully I understood better this time what you hoped to speak to. :)

God bless

Things Are Getting Darker.

Yesterday, I was reading ChristianHeadlines and I noticed how things are just getting more sick and dark.

Christian News Headlines

I usually read thru the news here (not because the author writes as if they are Christain and or from a Biblical perspective), but because it covers a lot of events that are going on that are Bible related. Yesterday, I was overcome with a vexation within my spirit as I read one dark thing after another. I was overcome in the Spirit to just pray. To pray for the people who are living amongst us. So it is my encouragment to any or all true believers here to pray for people and the darkness that they are in. Pray for them. Things are getting darker and we need to shine the Light all the more, my friends.
I think what has really changed is our access to news stories such as this because of the Internet. It is not that more is happening than before, just that these stories are easier to access than ever before.

Blame the 24 hour news Kerry. The moment something negative happens it is immediately reported everywhere. What we are witnessing are copycat attacks and I think they happen more in the USA with its thriving gun culture than in any other Western country. It has nothing to do with an absence of the Lord's Prayer in schools.

many years ago when I was young and in grade school we daily recited the Lord's Prayer,
which even back then brought me much comfort and hope,
as I lived in a household of corruption with violence and darkness at every turn.

the Lord's Prayer literally switched a Light on in my heart and a seeking began inside
of me for that Light.

many of today's children have no idea or concept about responsibility or consequences,
not to mention no idea of the love, grace, care, sacrifice of our heavenly Father,
as their households are null and void of anything Holy, just, and pure.

how much evidence does one need to acknowledge what the world has become
and where it is going to?

in our history, when man makes his own set of 'rules' in place of our Saviours,
the results are recorded and obvious.

in scripture the children of Israel forsake their God, and God forsakes them.
the lesson is repeated numerous times for emphasis!

ISAIAH 1:4.
Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters:
they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger,
they are gone away backward.
