I actually have seen a flyer from world harvest for a prayer gathering, It says if you give so much money, He (Pastor Rod Parsley) will guarantee an answer to prayer. no matter what the prayer is (is, if you give this much, one pray will be answered, that much, 2 prayers etc etc)

These people are evil.. Especially when the pastor lives such an extravagant lifestyle..

oh that's Rod Parsley?

This says more about our lack of love then the presence of their love. We don't need to change Scripture we need to live it.

John 13:35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

Being convinced of God’s “love” is not near enough evidence. Muslims believe in love, Jews believe in love, even Buddhists, and Hindus believe in love.

I have spent time in temples in Japan (Hindu) and the love and serenity was very very impressive. However did they know Jesus as Saviour. NO

The evidence of whether a person is truly called by Christ unto salvation comes following this reflective “convincing” of God’s love through the determined response to 1) adore Christ, 2) love others, 3) obey Scripture, 4) turn from sin, and 5) lay down all idols! 1John 4 and 5

The love of God is a central joy in the relationship with Christ and fellowship within a local church. However, it is NOT the only evidence of proper doctrine nor application within the church.

Again I will pray.

I dunno and when I don't know I will say I dunno (patent pending)

I have not been sprinkled in gold dust...maybe cause I like pearls better...

BUT

I have literally heard singing...what I would call a heavenly choir a few times...when I was alone and worshiping God

and some other godly things that I keep to myself...I keep my visions to myself and all that (Stevie Nicks)

and I have seen demonic manifestations...too many

so seen and heard both

mind you, I don't go looking or asking either

I will say though, that if you walk before God and desire Him, that sometimes things will happen that people will call either God or demonic

and the thing is, it can be God or demonic and it is up to the believer to distinguish which it is

too many will accept everything from God and too many will accept nothing from God

Me?

less and less quick to jump on anyone's bandwagon and I never join a parade

cryptic?

maybe a bit

I love you all so much! Your hearts for the Lord are so amazing to me. It's just beautiful to read.

One of the coolest experiences I had was when I was talking to an atheist, and I felt the Lord tell me something to tell him. So I did, 2 hrs later he accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior because there was no way I could know it.

Another one was at my work, I came in eating a sub, and one of the employees had a super red eye, so I said what happened? He said, oh man I got acid in my eye, it hurts so bad I had to take time off, but I decided to come back in. I asked him bro can I pray for you? It's hurting me just to look at you lol. And he said well I'm eating right now, maybe later. So I said, it's okay bro God can heal you even with food in your stomach! He laughed and said okay then. I went over put my hand on his eye and commanded healing into his eye in Jesus name. It got better instantly. He started blinking and saying wow dude it's so much better. And through out the day, he would come back and it would get better and better.

The result? The entire workplace saw it happen, saw the difference, and this guy goes around telling people about Jesus. And then other people start talking about Jesus and miracles/crazy things that they saw Him do. It brought the Kingdom of God into my work so fast it blew my mind.

We have a mandate from the Lord.

Make disciples OF nations.

How can we do this impossible task?

He is with us. And He has given us supernatural weapons to reveal Him to the world. I don't care if some people use it wrongly, that's between them and the Lord. But I know with my life, I want everything He has, everything He wants to do through my life. So I can reveal the King of Glory to the world. I'm that guy who asks to pray for people who are limping, sick, or even have a headache. I'm that guy who says I feel the Lord is saying this to you.

I'm also the guy who's lost a lot of family members to sickness. The guy who's been wrong, the guy who's prayed for people and watched them die. But I've also been able to witness miraculous things. And see other people's family members get better and healed. I've seen people weep in the streets because of what God shares with me to tell them.

This isn't about me. But it is about Him. And in a thread like this, I feel especially strong about sharing some of my testimonies. That others might believe He can do it through them as well.

Of course you can believe I'm lying. That's where I hope my conduct and character will speak for me.

But, either way...

We can believe what He says or we can believe what "carnal reality" says.

You make your choice, I made mine.

yeah Cee I hear you

what we call supernatural is every day...every single day...in reality

we have lost our eyes and ears to much of what is real

trouble is, there are both sides to real

I think you understand that though

reminds me of...Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." And the LORD opened the servant's eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. II Kings 6:17

now some people will run with that and say oooo God is on our side...all the time

actually, if you consider Gideon, we choose which side we are on...and I know there is the scripture that states if God be for us, who can be against us, but with all things spiritual, discernment and your personal walk with God play into...in fact dictate...what your experience will be

I'm fine with caution and some things are blatantly wrong and need to be identified as such, but a carte blanche of everything we personally disagree with as wrong, is not discernment

Jesus Christ said of Himself, ‘The Son can do nothing.’ In the Greek language that word nothing has a unique meaning—it means NOTHING, just like it does in English! He had NO supernatural capabilities whatsoever!…He performed miracles, wonders, and signs, as a man in right relationship to Godnot as God.

Johnson, Heaven Invades, p 29

…Jesus had no ability to heal the sick. He couldn’t cast out devils, and He had no ability to raise the dead. He said of Himself in John 5:19, ‘the Son can do nothing of Himself.’ He had set aside His divinity. He did miracles as man in right relationship with God because He was setting forth a model for us, something for us to follow….Jesus so emptied Himself that He was incapable of doing what was required of Him by the Father – without the Father’s help…

Johnson, Bill, The Supernatural Power of a Transformed Mind: Access to a Life of Miracles. 2005, Destiny Image: “Speaking to the Purposes of God for This Generation and for the Generations to Come”, Shippensburg, PA; p 50.

…The outpouring of the Spirit comes to anoint the church with the same Christ anointing that rested upon Jesus in His ministry so that we might be imitators of Him…[SUP]24[/SUP]
Johnson, Face to Face, p 77.

Johnson is teaching, that Jesus is merely a human made divine at baptism by virtue of the “Christ anointing” by the Holy Spirit coming upon Him. Further, this would infer that as others receive this same “Christ anointing” they too would be “linked to the divine” in the same manner.

He teaches Jesus is our model for "signs as wonders" because He did them through the power of the Holy Spirit so that we can too. He stresses that Jesus did what He did as a MAN in right relationship with God.

Johnson's words are very deceptive indeed. Jesus said I and my Father are ONE

This is just a quick snapshot.

I really know nada about Mr Johnson

however, would you kindly provide the link to where he teaches what you are saying UG?

if people were saying questionable things about me...and they have so I know how it feels....I would hope they at least check it out for themselves

I don't think that is asking too much

further, and I'm not taking sides since I don't have info to do so, you should (you meaning everyone) should always post a source when supposedly quoting what another said

in a courtroom, that is considered hearsay, so I don't know why it would be acceptable among believers

if you have one source you are referring to, I can't find it...I see you have noted what appears to be page #'s

Hi UG!
From what little you've given here, I do not see him saying the same thing you do.
I see him saying Jesus emptied Himself and then had to rely on God just as we do.
Saying that Divinity emptied Himself is not the same as saying He is not divinity.
I don't read what you put up and then come to the same conclusion you do...

A couple questions...

When Paul said He emptied Himself of everything and became like us... how do we take that?
What is our involvement?
Did you notice that Jesus told his disciples to feed the hungry, when they had no food?

Matt 14:16But Jesus said, “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.”

A student is supposed to follow His teacher. And then Jesus said teach them what I've taught you. Before He sent them out He said receive the Holy Spirit. Why do you think He did that?

Just a few things to consider. Do I believe Jesus was God before the Spirit came on Him? Yes. Do I believe Jesus did miracles before He had the Spirit? We don't see that in Scripture. Do I believe the Spirit of God does miracles through us like He did through Jesus? Yes.

John 14:12“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. 13Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If you ask me[SUP]e[/SUP] anything in my name, I will do it.

Jesus going to the Father allowed us to have His Spirit.

Jesus became a man as our example. He showed us what right relationship with the Father looks like. He chose to empty Himself, that was His choice. It doesn't mean He wasn't God. But it does mean He emptied Himself to be like us. Why else do you think He was able to die?

Phil 2:5Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus:

6Who, existing in the form of God,

did not consider equality with God something to cling to, << read this.
- God didn't consider equality with God to be desired.

7but emptied Himself,

taking the form of a servant, << and this.
- This is our pattern also.

being made in human likeness.

8And being found in appearance as a man,

He humbled Himself and became obedient to death—

even death on a cross. << and this.

God emptied Himself completely to the point of dying on a cross. It wasn't taken from Him. He chose to do it.

Which gives an entirely new meaning to this Scripture here:

1 John 4:17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world.

Love was shown by emptying Himself for us. We show love by emptying ourselves for others. And by this we show the world we are His, by this we reveal Christ on the Earth. And this same love, drove Jesus to do miracles. And He said we do the same works. (And greater)

How is this possible??

Have you noticed that Paul says Christ Jesus in his epistles?

Or have you read this Scripture here:

2 Co 5:16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer.

I totally agree with what was written in those books about Jesus as a man could do nothing but that He totally depended on His Father in Him by the Holy Spirit to do the Father's works.

Jesus said that He Himself does not do the work but His Father in Him is doing His works. ( We are to live the same way now - totally depended on Christ's life in us to do His works in and through us to a hurt and dying world )

John 14:10 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.

The books did not say that Jesus was made divine at baptism - that was what someone "added" unto his words. Bill Johnson says that Jesus was fully God and fully man at the same time but that He depended totally on the Father within Him - by the Holy Spirit to do His works.

I see nothing whatsoever wrong with what was quoted in his books - what I did see is what others "added" unto what he said to make it "appear" to be something that it was not intended to be.

You are so funny really. ;) Denigrate and malign the messenger because the message is too hard to bear.

You know what Willi-T doctrines subjected to neglect soon gives way to heresy and that is what we have here and people can't even see it. It is called Kenosis, look it up.

And of course I can get exact quotes from the internet, I can get whole books from the internet without even paying a dime sometimes. Thank God!!!! I can hear people's exact words on the internet too!!

How exciting at least now I know longer go out and buy books based on some on some huge fan base.

His one book I had went in the rubbish pile several years ago with all the other books I discarded.

God knows I already wasted enough money over the years. I also know how to do quotes, did you know that there is software that can generate them for you? APA style or perhaps you prefer MLA.

I think I saw some of his other books at a second hand bookshop here in Toronto, I guess someone else was not that impressed either.

Just in case here are the links.
