There are some on these discussions who are known to twist your words in order to make you the bad guy and stir up strife.

God sees all however!
Convallaria - You are a sick and twisted person. I say this publicly, because I see a trend with you doing the same -- bashing people in public...making them out to look like the bad guy... (stirring strife).

Just stop already.

You see no problem with your actions? Why then do you continue to bash others in public? Why do you not confront them in private? You've bashed me in public. I've tried to address this several times both privately and publicly -- you ignore and continue stirring that pot. Please stop.

Ok let me be clear again, im not talking about being a pastor, as i said i already know thats Gods will for me through a gideon experiment. My question was related to preaching one sermon in the church I go to before going to seminary and finally building my own church.

Also for those who have mentioned Jesus, yes he was young but he was also GOD Himself so of course he was able to. As for charles spurgeon thats all well and good but I dont believe in untrained preaching, it may be good in some cases but i think it could be quite dangerous :)

And for me personally I dont just want a strongs concordance it doesnt go into near enough depth for me on the words, and Id rather know them myself after learning.

Maybe it is just a matter of "wording" your request to your pastor. Try "May I "share" this to the church, before I leave?

Hey Pat, yes that may work, and at least he will know how things are by the reaction he gets.

My own experience is that the Lord leads us to a place where we need to trust Him with the message in spite of all the opposition. Opposition is a "given" when we are walking in the Spirit: nothing annoys a religious person more than seeing the Spirit of God speak the truth into a bad situation that they want to hang onto.

It is all a steep learning curve once you figure there are many so called Christians who are not all they make themselves out to be. Plenty of fine sounding words but in the end, nothing that can feed the spiritually hungry. I have been blessed to receive some awesome preaching from visiting ministers of God in my time in miraculous circumstances: it was like the message was so specific to my (then) dangerous circumstances of which no one knew, that I felt I was the only one in the room.

Only God can do that, by His Spirit. If all we do is try to impress others with our words without the Spirit, at best it is like force-feeding cardboard.

And then there are those who try to move in some demonic authority, and will attempt to convince you it is God. That is a good subject for a whole other thread!

I have spoken to the young man who started this thread. He is now an anti theist and wants nothing to do with God whom he calls a tyrant.


I have prayed for him and I suggest we all do the same.

a preacher you say, well preach, does it have to be to your congregation? You have a whole lost world out there preach. I forgot what school John the Baptist attended ....hmmmm anyways preach.
Billy Graham used to preach to the forest off a boat in a swamp to practice.
Jeremiah was 14 and called to be a prophet.
Now your pastor has a right to edit his flock and it's good that you respect that, but like I said preach if the Lord's called you to do so, you have a whole lost world out there.
