Incidentally a story (true I might add).

A prostitute came to Christ, her wardrobe comprised of skimpy revealing
clothes. It's all she had and all she had ever worn for years.

She turned up to Church in these skimpy clothes every week praising God!
The women in the church tut tutted and tried to evert the eyes of the men (notice the
men didn't try too hard to look away!).

So some of the women went to see the pastor and said he should speak to her and tell her
how the bible expected her to dress. The pastor told the women to leave her alone she was
a new born again Christian and it was not right to crush her, that God would deal with her and
instead to pray for her - and themselves!

Maybe 6 months or so later, this new Christian was in the women's bible study and she asked
the other women about clothing, she said she felt maybe she needed to change a little
but wasn't sure what to do for the best but she wanted some new clothes and didn't have
much money.

Guess what the next week all the women turned up with bundles of clothes for her. She was
thrilled to bits at the generosity of the church and everyone else breathed a sigh of relief. :D

A true story, it was played out in the church of some friends I have known for years, he was
the pastor.
I still wore the wrong jeans and shoes until I could afford the right clothing : p Luckily my friend I mentioned gave me some shirts, haha : p I couldnt fit into his pants : p

Maybe you could use your experiences to reach out and help others.
What a ministry that would be - you never know :)

I still have a hard time understanding, "Though it is miserable for me to follow Jesus......." thinking. In this context, or in any of the similar veins we read on here.

It never crosses anyone's mind that Jesus didn't call us to OBEY, though feeling like we are being somehow punished every day for doing so? That seems so strange to me.

I find myself wondering how this is our decision to be making......... any more than it is our place to decide which of our "straight" brothers or sisters is saved? Oh, to be certain, many of us WANT to make that decision for God, and often do. But that really doesn't amount to a hill of beans in His Kingdom. In fact, we are likely heaping judgement upon ourselves by doing so.
My brother mentioned someone famous being Christian and I stated that person was no Christian. He said this person grew up in such and such a church and I stated, we shall know them by their fruit, and this person is no Christian. I felt justified in my words and yet at the same time knew it wasn't my place to say, for only God should do so. I won't mention the particular person by name that we were discussing because I don't want to derail the thread, but let's just say she's the DNC's nominee.

I have no idea who you're talking about Utah. Does she happen to have a husband with pasty white skin and a strong opinion on the importance of White House internships?

I would want to say shes not a Christian not to judge her or make my own calls, but just to warn others who are seeking God that she is not the person to follow to find Him : p

I think there can be good in pointing such things out.

One thing I used to believe, that the sadness I felt was all genetic and biological. I used it to defend my stance, too. I felt terrible, and I wasnt lying, I felt bad things about it.

Now, after everything thats happened to me, Im 100% convinced that its not biological, and I believe feelings are another tool used by the enemy to deceive and mislead us.

The bad feelings are from the enemy, I 100% believe this without doubt. Its not an easy thing to get others to consider, how could feelings be used for evil? But I believe they use them. "Do not believe every spirit".

I have a question, don't really know whether this is transgender related, but sometimes I'm borrowing my husbands jacket, sweater etc, and every other girl I know also are borrowing their husbands clothes at times. Nobody cares, but I was just thinking...if he had been using my clothes...that would have been strange, to say the least. Why is that?

I often wonder about that too : p I have no idea : p I guess people are more worried about men keeping their masculine image than a woman wearing her husbands jacket? : p I think people are generally more uhhhh.... I guess worried and stubborn when it comes to men and what they do. Like, though there is prejudice among lesbian couples, there has been more violence and discrimination among homosexual couples. At least thats what I have heard. I know that two women were allowed to live together before two men were (by society).

That's them. I like how she has a much deeper southern drawl when talking to Black folk.

It's either total repentance or nothing. God expects us to go the whole way. For some it's a journey, for others who are fully committed to the Lord, they leave all sin behind as much as they possibly can through everything that they're now aware of as a believer.
So how would one repent from an abortion? Or a crime? Or sex before marriage? Or drunkenness? Can't really undo those once the acts are done.

Sin wrecks havoc on the human body in all sorts of ways whether intentional
or unintentional. People lose limbs, become paralysed, suffer all sorts of damage.

Thankfully we all get new bodies!

Whether or not a person decided to try reversal surgery is up to them, but it would
not alter the new creation inside of them.
I'm sorry to burst transgender people's bubble, but if you're a man, you're gonna die as a man. If you're a woman, you're gonna die as a woman. And no amount of opposite-gender corrective surgery will change that. You CANNOT physically change the gender you were born with. It is impossible for a man to become a woman, and vice versa. Bruce Jenner is still a man. He even looks the same as he did before he took on the persona of "Caitlin". Only now he wears wigs, women's makeup and clothes, high heels and dresses, and has (artificial) boobs. He even still has his original Willy Winkie. lol .. He literally just looks like a drag queen.

Though I have many problems with, and objections to, the whole gamut of sexual variations, I cannot be quite so dogmatic in my assessment. I have spent far too many hours in Therapy Groups with a host of sexually screwed-up people (and even seen too much of my own weirdness) to just bring the gavel down in flat, only black-or-white, judgement of a lot of things.

You can't possibly honestly believe that a person CAN switch their gender from what God created? And I'm not judging, just telling it like it is. A man CANNOT become a legit woman, nor a woman, a legit man.

By asking Him for forgiveness? What is the point you are making here? That they shouldnt seek His mercy because theyve already sinned?

I have come a looong way on my judgment of others sin.
I almost lost my relationship with my sister over her having a homosexual cousin of ours and his boyfriend for Thanksgiving yrs ago.

I still know and believe that homosexuality and transgenderism is sin, but my approach and heart has changed in how I relate to them or any other sin people engage in.
Love is truly the answer. I found if I love them and not even bother mentioning their specific sin, then give the Gospel and pray they will accept it, to be MUCH MORE effective than pointing out their sin.

After all, it's going to be the Holy Spirit who reveals what needs to change in their life AFTER they have accepted Jesus.

Amen, PennEd. I love this meme:

pointing to Jesus.png

If only more Christians grasped this fact . . .

Of course they aren't "ligit" anything when they do that. I am saying they are doing it (usually and probably) for reasons and through motives much more psychologically deep-seated and far-reaching in inner pain than many of us can possibly imagine or fathom. They don't do this to thumb their noses at God.
