What does it mean in the Scriptures to be Saved?

What does it mean to you to be Saved?
I would describe salvation as being forgiven for our sins. Without forgiveness, we would suffer forever.

Skinski7,

The judgment seat in 2 Corinthians 5:10 is bema seat of Christ where we receive our rewards or our works are burned up (1 Corinthians 3:15) and yet we are saved. The bema seat of Christ is not the white throne judgment of Revelation 20:11-15 where unsaved people are told to go to hell so to speak and most likely why.
Your theologians teach you that but that is not what the Bible teaches.

The "works being burned up" in 1Cor 3 relate to unproductive church building, not the works of rebellion to God.

The false teachers snip single verses and represent them completely out of their intended context.

Read all chapter 3 in context. In fact read the entire letter to the Corinthians in one, its message is very clear.

So many wish to believe they can sin and not surely die and will snip verses from there to there in an attempt to prove that the Bible teaches that Christian's can sin and not surely die. It is a lie from the devil that you can sin and not surely die.

Paul very plainly taught...

2Co 5:9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
2Co 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
2Co 5:11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

Paul stated that due to all having to appear there "we labour that we may be accepted of Him."

Many people are not going to be accepted (see Mat 7:21-23) because they remained workers of iniquity.

All judgment has been given to the Son.

Joh 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
Joh 5:23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Joh 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Joh 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Joh 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

The Christian is judged in this life through repentance and faith, whereby we are made ready and confident for the final judgment.

The simple fact is that none of us can willfully do evil and expect to get away with it. We have to forsake all known evil in repentance and abide in the will of God. It is only in doing that that we can have real confidence, it is the simplicity of Christ, to walk by a faith that works by love in the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

Those who deny that they will be judged and yet engage in evil are very deceived.

Romans 8:1 ¶ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Yes those whom are IN Christ Jesus whom WALK according to the Spirit are not under condemnation. It is not a free pass to keep on sinning. The sinning has stopped which is why there is no condemnation, our past sins are forgiven and we have been redeemed from that in the present which would bring condemnation.

Romans 8:2 says this...

Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

It is the SPIRIT OF LIFE IN JESUS CHRIST which sets us free. That is why those whom walk according to the Spirit are not under condemnation, instead of sinning we have the righteousness of the law fulfilled in us by a faith that works by love (Rom 8:4, Gal 5:6).

Now that we got that out of the way, I'm going to say, "Ha ha" and what do you have left to threaten me with?
"Ha ha" ???

Do you think God will be mocked?

Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Don't be deceived, God will not be mocked. Whatever we sow we shall also reap. To the flesh corruption, the the Spirit everlasting life hence...

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

One cannot be walking after the Spirit and sinning against God at the same time.

Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

To use 1Cor 3 as a proof text to claim that one can engage in evil and enter into the kingdom is utter foolishness. Paul is not teaching that, not even close.

What does it mean to you to be Saved?
Saved from God's wrath and just punishment. The just punishment is exiled from God, death and hell.

So saved is eternity with God, life, and heaven.

And Jesus is the saver/savior. We don't save ourselves.

Is this another one of those threads which end up preaching something after asking everyone questions?
Judging from what has happened since, it is, but not Ken's intent, but the intent of the usual preachers. lol
