One must realize when God set up his nation, He wanted to be their king, (unlike other nations who had men as kings) He did eventually allow Israel to heave her own king, they chose saul, but this was not yet.

In setting up this nation, he made rules and regulations (laws) which were to guide this nation. Some laws if broken, had lesser consequences. Other laws, if broken, brought the death penalty (such as witchcraft) This was a national law, and the national justice system was set up by God.

We are not Israel, nor does our federal laws state that witches are to be executed. Nor do we follow jewish law as given by Christ. Thus to kill your friends would be against our federal law, Against what God wants from the church and those in the church (who are told to obey civil authority and their laws) and could get you the death penalty for murder.
God used to want people to kill witches but now he doesn't?

Do you want to understand why God did things differently back then, or kill witches?

Just so people don't start thinking I plan to actually kill someone. I don't plan to kill anyone much less just for being a witch. Especially not one of my friends.. I just want better understanding of the bible.

Then understand that God set of rules for a nation, His rules for society. These rules were set up to protect the people he called his own. Witchcraft according to him was a danger to society and those exposed to it. thus why he demanded such a severe punishment for this crime. Yet they were given to HIS nation IIsrael) and not the whole world.

Also understand That God does not force rulers of nations to abide by his laws. or his examples. Some of Gods laws, nations follow. others they do not. This happens to be one of them. Also remember the roman empire under the guise of the church did have this law. and carried it out for thousands of years. Yet that does not mean we should.

So then is God for or against the killing of witches? Or God only wants Israel to kill witches? I don't quite understand yet could use some clarification.

Does the United States, Great Britain, Germany or any other nation have in its judicial system a law that says witches are to be killed?

I have been reading my bible and wondering about some things lately. There are some verses I don't really understand so I guess I will start with this one:

Though shalt not suffer a witch to live. (Exodus 22:18)

I do have friends who practice witchcraft so does this mean I should kill them?
No, I don’t think that commandment was directed at us.

Why do you have friends that practice witchcraft? I would find different friends.

We are not under law we are under grace. I don't understand what this means.

if we have to go by the law, we can never make it because no one can follow the law a100% we will always break the law. if we break one we are guilty of all,so we are all lost. thats the reason god send his son to die for us, so now the door to God is open
again, now we go by christ: if we follow christ we will be given mercy.
we come to God by mercy. he will blot out our sins if we follow him. hope you can see the picture.

God has established two covenants with mankind, which are called the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. The Old Covenant was established between God and Israel, and was replaced by Jesus with the New Covenant.

The laws in Leviticus and Deuteronomy are called the Law of Moses, or sometimes the Levitical Law, and are the law of the Old Covenant. They were the state laws of the nation of Israel during the time of the Old Covenant. When the New Covenant replaced the Old Covenant, the Old Covenant was, from that time forward, no longer in effect, including the Law of Moses. The Old Covenant, which was between God and Israel, was replaced by the New Covenant, which is between God and, not just Israel, but all mankind.

Matthew 5:17-18 Think not that I am come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfil. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished.

Hi John. seems like you getting a sweat going with all this running around :p
i wont venture into your discussion with grateful, but will try explain the 2 laws. what you say above is very true. Jesus did not come to destroy the laws of Moses, He came to fulfill. back in the day, men had to offer up sacrifices to God through the shedding of blood. so people used to sacrifice animals in atonement for their sins. this was all done as an example to point people to what will happen to the real Lamb of God. there were lotsa rules regarding the ceremony and such. but when Jesus came down, He then took the place of the lamb. thereby fulfilling what everybody was doing before.
when He died, we no longer have to continue with the example, because the real thing has taken place. so in fulfilling the law, He also made all those laws null and void.

hope that explanation helps you out a bit. you can continue with grateful now :)

Actually you did quite well.

One law is in a salvation point of view.

One law is in a "national point of view.

The one thing I can think of is the penalty of breaking any part of the law (eternal) is death.

However God gave his nation certain temporal punishment (apart from salvation) he wanted his people to carry out.

an example, a prostitute or adulterer was to be stoned.

Yet when the jews tried to Get Christ to stone the prostitute as per the law. Jesus said "let he who has no sin cast the first stone. This is the best example I can give.

I guess we could use this example here. Bring in the witches to be stoned as per the law. What would Christ's answer be? We better have no sin before we cast that stone.

John they are already dead in spirit. I will pray for you and your friends. I have friends that practice witchcraft too. they have so many familiar spirits and demons feeding off them that it is not pleasant.

One has seizures and can not function normally anymore. she gave up witchcraft and hanging out with the guy who thought he was merlin five years ago but she still suffers from the physical effects of her dabbling.

its like crack for the spirit and has just as harmful and long lasting effects.

Only when they accept Jesus and cleansed will the healing begin.

This is an anti-evil Prayer.from FREE DELIVERY (DELIVERANCE) END-TIME DELIVERANCE MINISTRY - DEMONBUSTER.COM DELIVERANCE MANUAL (I adapted it)

In the name of JESUS, I cover myself and the one reading this with the Blood of JESUS. we ask for giant warrior angels to protect us. As your war club and weapons of war, We ask that YOU break down, undam, and blow up all walls of protection around all witches, warlocks, wizards, satanists, sorcerers, and the like, and by the power of the Holy spirit we break the power of all curses, hexes, vexes, spells, charms, fetishes, psychic prayers, psychic thoughts, all witchcraft, sorcery, magic, voodoo, all mind control, jinxes, potions, bewitchments, death, destruction, sickness, pain, torment, psychic power, psychic warfare, prayer chains, incense and candle burning, incantations, chanting, blessings, hoodoo, crystals, root works, and everything else being sent our way, or our family member's way, or any Deliverance Ministries way, and we return it, and the demons back to the pits of Hell, and we bind them by the Blood of Jesus, and we cut and burn their ungodly silver cord and lay lines that touch and surround their lives, in JESUS' Name, we pray, Amen

17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. (Matthew 5:17-18)

As Jesus said, the law was not destroyed, and not one jot nor one tittle passed from the law. Rather, he fulfilled the law, by doing what no one else could do, which was keeping the law, that he might take the punishment we deserved upon himself as a sacrifice for the sins of the world (Isaiah 53:5; John 3:16).

The Law still serves a purpose, which is to bring knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20), but we now establish the law through faith (Romans 3:31), having been delivered from and died to the law that we might serve in the Spirit and not in the letter (Romans 7:6). For Christ is the end of the law for everyone who believes (Romans 10:4) and if we are led by the Spirit, we are not under the law (Galatians 5:18). We have become dead to the law through the body of Christ that we might bear fruit to God (Romans 7:4).

I want to know what the bible wants me to do.
So the rule to not let witches live was only for the hebrews or the rule just gpt changed since then or something? When did the rule change and why? What other bible rules are only for hebrews or got changed?
any person of any nation that wanted to serve the one true GOD CREATOR YAHWEH, would observe all of the instructions GOD CREATOR YAHWEH gave to Israel.
those 'outside' of Israel, were without GOD and without hope in the world.(as it is WRITTEN IN GOD'S WORD) ...

this is pertinent today. not the witches death, but being "friends". no one pointed out what SCRIPTURE(GOD'S WORD) says . how come?
