You are using the verb prooida (to know intellectually).

The verb used is proginosko (to know by personal relationship).

He entered into relations with them beforehand.
What is required for any relationship to happen.
’free will.

if free will is missing, there is no relationship. Only a puppet master and a puppet who does what his master wills only.

The objective of Romans 9 is to show that our lives aren't adrift:

  • "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." (Romans 8.28).

Everything was projected by Jesus for love to us and His name.

That's not in Ro 9.

our relationships are based on our prejudices, our background, our make up and so on, they at NOT based on free will. You do not make your choices freely, Yet you do not see yourself as a puppet.

Man in his free will rebelled against God. We regain limited free will when we are chosen by God. Before that we are slaves to sin.

Well if all human beings were simply "slaves to sin" then they would do only evil continuously. But Scripture says otherwise, so why don't you believe God instead of Augustine and Calvin?

ROMANS CHAPTER 2

6 Who [God] will render to every man according to his deeds:

7
To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

8
But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

9
Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

10
But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

11
For there is no respect of persons with God.

12
For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

13
(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

14
For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

15
Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another

16
In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Romans 9 is about what Paul spoke of in Chapters 1 through 8, and an introduction to what he speaks of in 10......

There, does that help?

I believe Paul -Rom 6.6

or isn't he in your Scriptures?

I believe Paul -Rom 6.6...or isn't he in your Scriptures?
If you believe Romans 6:6 you should also believe Romans 2:6-16. I believe both. So no need to make a snide remark. You should believe both also, since you are setting up one passage against another, and God does not contradict Himself.

So let's see what Romans 6:6 has to say: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

So this verse tells us that the "flesh" or the "old man" was metaphorically a servant of "sin" meaning that sinners are controlled by the sin nature. Which means that while we were unsaved we preferred sin to righteousness. This is quite true, but at the same time it does NOT mean that unregenerate human beings are continuously evil. Nor does it mean that sinners cannot respond to the Gospel under the influence of the Holy Spirit.

So we need to reconcile Scripture with Scripture, and Romans 2:6-16 proves that the unsaved can (and do) do the things contained in the Law (the Ten Commandments). So why don't you tell us what is your understanding of this passage (or would you rather ignore it like Calvin did?)
