I believe Paul -Rom 6.6...or isn't he in your Scriptures?
If you believe Romans 6:6 you should also believe Romans 2:6-16. I believe both. So no need to make a snide remark. You should believe both also, since you are setting up one passage against another, and God does not contradict Himself.
So let's see what Romans 6:6 has to say:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
So this verse tells us that the "flesh" or the "old man" was metaphorically a servant of "sin" meaning that sinners are controlled by the sin nature. Which means that while we were unsaved we preferred sin to righteousness.
This is quite true, but at the same time it does NOT mean that unregenerate human beings are continuously evil. Nor does it mean that sinners cannot respond to the Gospel under the influence of the Holy Spirit.
So we need to reconcile Scripture with Scripture, and Romans 2:6-16 proves that the unsaved can (and do) do the things contained in the Law (the Ten Commandments). So why don't you tell us what is your understanding of this passage (or would you rather ignore it like Calvin did?)
