the goal* of the commandment is love from a pure heart

1 Timothy 1:5, “Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned.”

1 Timothy 1:5-7, " But the goal* of the commandment is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions."

(goal)is word #G5056 –télos; Greek Dictionary (Lexicon-Concordance) - #5056 telos {tel'-os} from a primary tello (to set out for a definite point or goal)

HELPS Word-studies – 5056 télos (a neuter noun) – properly, consummation (the end-goal, purpose), such as closure with all its results.

The describtion of love is in 1 chorinthian 13

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Wonderful post! Love in practice described!

Love is patient... Think about how patient He is with us, ever waiting for mankind to retun to Him, ready to pour out His love upon us...When I recall this it humbles me and makes me want to submit myself to Him, no rebellion, no going astry but rather to submit to Him that I make make Him joyful with me.

halleluYah!

Psalm 119:7, "I thank You with uprightness of heart, When I learn the right-rulings of Your righteousness."

Hizikyah's post #6 had a version of John 15:13 which is worded a little different than the NIV which reads: Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. - I wish I had thought of this when I was dating. Would I have laid down my life for this girl? Sad to say I don't think I would have done it for anyone back then. I shouldn't have married and I think a divorce proves that point. Too many, myself included, married for lust instead of love.

True love is sacrificial love that brings about a greater good for the recipient.
Love is the ability to get past oneself and to do something good for another.

Christian love is to deny oneself and to love Jesus as our God and
Saviour - his sacrificial love for us ...

5 And hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our
hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
8 But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.
Romans 5:

Thus the NT is very much a new and living way of abiding in love with
mercy and forgiveness - indeed the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

10 He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is none
occasion of stumbling in him.
11 But he that hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and knows not
whither he goes, because that darkness has blinded his eyes.
1John 2:

Song of Solomon 8:7: “Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned."

1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: [SUP]2 [/SUP]By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
[SUP]4 [/SUP]And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 1:5-8

[SUP]4 [/SUP]But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
[SUP]7 [/SUP]That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Not of works, lest any man should boast.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:4-10

[SUP]7 [/SUP]Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 1 John 4:7-12

True love is this: not what you can do for me but what can i do for you.
Recall what was written: you love because I loved you first.

ISA. 66:2.
For all those things has Mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith The LORD:
but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit,
and trembleth at My Word.

Iamwhoiam,

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

[SUP]2 [/SUP]And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity (Love), I am nothing.

[SUP]3 [/SUP]And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Charity (Love) suffereth long, and is kind; charity (Love) envieth not; charity (Love) vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

[SUP]5 [/SUP]Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Charity (Love) never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

[SUP]9 [/SUP]For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 1 Corinthians 13:1-10

And your feelings towards me has not gone un noticed either, you have followed me around posting verses to try and condemn me for sometime now that doesn't go un notice either, what you say isn't of truth for I posted one music song and have not posted another since he requested that, I have honored his request for not having any music in the thread.
