Jesus Clears the Temple Courts

13When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.

16To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” 17His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”

18The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”

19Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”

20They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” 21But the temple he had spoken of was his body. 22After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

John 2

and some people still don't get it.
Jesus prophesying...what were the disciples preaching?

There is only one Gospel of Jesus Christ......Paul was very clear on this point.
Are you saying that the disciples were going around preaching Jesus' death, burial and resurrection for sins before it happened? If not, what was the good news they were preaching to the Jews only?

That is a ludicrous question. What are you trying to accomplish with it? One principle the disciples created was first the Jews then the gentiles. Same gospel for all. Paul's emphasis was on the gentiles.

The disciples had no idea about Christ's death, burial and resurrection until after it happened. God hid it from them. So what did they go around preaching?

Jesus Cleanses a Leper

1 When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. 2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
3 Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4 And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

Was this teaching (in red) applicable only to the Jews (while Jesus was on earth) or does it apply to all Christians?
The Priest's would have most likely known of this sickness this man endured, they might have even attempted to perform the Levitical Priesthood "Works of the Law" for cleansing. When the Priests would see him again, he would be cleansed. And thy would find out it was Jesus who cleansed him as a witness to them.

It would be the same as someone who studied from home in obedience to God and was blessed with the Spirit of understanding without any membership to famous theology schools or Biblical seminars. It was the same as Jesus having His Biblical knowledge without the "Learned teaching from the religious scholars of His time".

John 7:14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

Jesus forgave and cleansed sinners and sick people without ever sprinkling a drop of goats blood, as prescribed by the Levitical Priesthood. The cleansing of this Leper was a testimony to them.

These are my thoughts. :)

I would suggest he is not served by, through or with human hands as if the Potter needed something for the clay he is forming Christ in. He has none but satisfies all.

For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;Neither is worshipped with men's hands, "as though" he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;Act 17:23

Until relatively recently lepers were kept in the leper colonies. The finding the cure for it changed that. Medical science has done away with that.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ, Believe Heis the Son of God, and you will be saved.

When you believe Him, you will hear Him and do as He taught and as He acted.........

If you believe He is the Son of God you willunderstand how salvation came about because of what He did for all who believe Him

Not gonna respond to your post.

Just wanted to say I love your name.
It does make me wince and eyes water.

But to me that is what God does with us.
Performs an endoscopy and the reason and purpose is to highlight internal issues that he will heal.

"That Moses commanded" makes it quite clear that until the crucifixion of Christ, the Law of Moses was in force, and Christ fulfilled that Law in every aspect. This is not a "teaching" of Christ but a commandment to a leper to do exactly what is stated in the Torah regarding lepers. The lesson here for all Christians is that just as the leper was required to obey God's commandments under the Old Covenant, God's commandments must be obeyed by Christians under the New Covenant. The Antinomians who have crept into the churches teach otherwise.

they were waiting for the KJV

sorry

I know where you are going
Keep in mind that the KJV was written in 1611 and the English then and now have changed. Some words drastically. Kill then meant first degree murder. Today kill means someone died from something. Vast difference. Thus more modern translations are better.

Keeping things in context would make it perfectly clear that in the KJV "kill" (Hebrew ratsach) also means "murder" (and the issues of first, second, and third degree are inconsequential). Also Strong's Exhaustive Concordance exists for all to obtain clarity from any word which appears to be unclear.

Strong's Concordance
ratsach: to murder, slay
Original Word: רָצַח
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: ratsach
Phonetic Spelling: (raw-tsakh')
Short Definition: manslayer

Thou shalt not kill
ratsach (raw-tsakh')
to dash in pieces, i.e. kill (a human being), especially to murder -- put to death, kill, (man-)slay(-er), murder(-er).

"Thus modern translations are better" indicates that you are not really familiar with the issues raised by modern translations. It is not simply a question of updated English. And if you want the KJV in updated English it is also there for you to read. Check Bible Hub.

I agree! -- the Law of Moses was still in force. This helps me prove my point: Some (not many) of Jesus' teachings were only for the Jews, before the crucifixion.

This is not a teaching of Christ, but He (while on earth) taught the Jews to obey the Law of Moses whereas Paul (as Jesus' spokesman, after the cross) taught otherwise.

Folks still struggling to understand how a testament works?
I live, I give my testament, I die, now its in effect.
Jesus lived, gave His testament, died and resurrected, now its in effect.

He didnt go around preaching and teaching wasting His time, only to die, resurrect and come back with a different testament He gave while alive. MAKES NO SENSE on a spiritual or even secular level. That'd be the shortest testament ever.

Can someone please give me a verse where Jesus says hey ima come back later with a different doctrine somehow, so when I said in the great commission to go into all the world and teach all that i HAVE commanded you, i only meant until Paul comes along.
