I been asking this question myself, there are so many teachers nowadays, we really need to have discernment from God to identify the true and false teachers,

Mathew 24:24
[SUP]24 [/SUP]For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

I listened to Joel Osteen when I first started seeking Christ and attending church but I stopped because he seems so focused on prosperity and success. There wasn't a lot of scripture. I don't like any of the "teachers" who focus on blessings from tithing when they want you to tithe to them and they tell you to wait and see how your giving (to them) becomes a double blessing.

I listen to Joyce Meyer the most, as I have stated many times, because I don't hear anything false in her teachings, it is all Bible based, solid, and she doesn't sugar coat anything. I also like Joseph Prince because he gives historical references (the original Greek meaning, spelling, etc.) I admit I haven't researched any of it, haven't checked it out, and maybe I need to do that. He does seem to place the most emphasis on no condemnation from the law, the law is done with, God's love and forgiveness is it.

Is false teaching defined as contradicting the Bible or using Scripture to one's own advantage rather than in context and God's actual meaning or intent? Just asking.

Any person who proclaims to be of christ but makes you buy and pay for his or her teachings is obviously a false teacher. These kind of people attract desperate lost people and capture their hearts like a mouse in a mouse trap. I have seen many kinds of people also claim to be Jesus christ himself, They are appearing everywhere and are easy to spot yet they fool so many.

2 Tim 3:1-9 Seems to describe them as focused on everything except Christ. Magicians done great wonders that are not from God. Big money boys with lots of glitz and glamor. The easy ones are the women who feign themselves to be preachers. God does not send women preachers.

anyone that that does teach What Christ or the word teaches . Weather that's by covering up truths, or lying and twisting others, or ignoring the word all together . Done ignorantly or otherwise. And any one that claims to be from Christ ( a Christian ), and professes to teach Christ; yet doesn't know anything about the Father the Son, or especially the Word. Where you can be in good standing with God, who is Judge of all. What they are going to end up being are a bunch of beggars. because God will not support them. That is why they must beg.

Matthew 7:15-29

King James Version (KJV)

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity....................................................

Mark 13: 5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Read Ezekiel 13 in the King James version .

2 Thessalonians 2:3

King James Version (KJV)

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Revelation 2:14-27 many places you can read about false teachers.

False teachers tell you stories. That's all they know, you give them an hour, they'll make something up. And then tell you its all biblical. But they never quite get around to teaching you anything from the word in reality . You can sit in their church pews all your life and not learn one iota of God's written word. If you like that sort of thing have at it.

God is against it.

Read on. Ezekiel Chapter 13 - King James Bible With Strong's Dictionary - Bible Software by johnhurt.com

Ezekiel 13 :

5 Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord.

6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The Lord saith: and the Lord hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.

7 Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The Lord saith it; albeit I have not spoken?

8 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord God.

9 And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord God.

10 Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter:

11 Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.

12 Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?

13 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.

14 So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

15 Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it;

16 To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord God.

17 Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them,

18 And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?

19 And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?

20 Wherefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.

21 Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

22 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:

23 Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

Very true, some preacher says something semantically incorrect and all of a sudden he is an "anti christ", "false teacher"

Not because of that. But these false teachers live in multi million pound mansions, a car for every week of the year. When I tithe, I want it to help the church or the poor, not so some false preacher can build his mansion in this world. he should be building it in the next.

this is practically verbatim from Arnold Murray, one of the worse false teachers out there.

That just tells me you never actually sat through a full bible study into one of the book of the bible of your choice Zone, that Murray has taught. .

And if you notice. I try to use a little more class, I don't attack Christians by name. I just ask people to be aware of what people teach, or the lack there of.

Murray does not fit any of what I mentioned in my post for a false teacher. In fact: he teaches all of the Bible. Very few can say they do that. Arnold Murray is one of a very select few, of Christian pastors out there, that actually will take the time, to teach all of the Bible, chapter by chapter and verse by verse.
But you left that little detail out Zone. Like a lot of your arguments, they have wholes in them. They will never be able to hold water.
