An apparent photo of a lightning bolt striking St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican Monday night (left) -- the same day that Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation, stunning the world -- has gone viral.
Filippo Monteforte, a photographer with Agence France Press, told England's Daily Mirror that "I took the picture from St. Peter's Square while sheltered by the columns. It was icy cold and raining sheets. When the storm started, I thought that lightning might strike the rod, so I decided it was worth seeing whether – if it DID strike – I could get the shot at exactly the right moment."
Monteforte waited for more than two hours and was rewarded for his patience with not one but two bolts, the Mirror reported.

What man was standing there declaring to be God and called for the lightening to come down at that precise moment? NOBODY. You have to take the whole passage, not just one piece of it.

What other signs (miracles) did the Pope do? None. The Pope didn't even take credit for this lightening strike.

St. Peter's is one of the highest structures in elevation in Rome therefore it is a target during a thunderstorm. Coincide only my friend.

Look at some other translations. They are all talking about the multiple (many) antiChrists of John's day who left them and they showed they were not of them. This idea of THE AntiChrist coming from the Church is just false. John doesn't say that THE Antichrist comes from the Church, he says that many "antiChrists" of his day went out from them and didn't stay with them.

Again, John doesn't say that 2,000 years+ later that the ANTICHRIST will be from the Church, any Church. The Catholic church didn't exist in John's day and didn't for another 200-300 years so why would he be talking about the Catholic Church? He didn't even know there would be a Catholic Church.

You really have to let this passage go as it is not the authority of where the Man of Sin will come from. Other passages tell us.

2. Second beast exercise authority like first beast, mean second beast have political power, Pope now have political power because he is the leader of the country, remember brother, vatican is a country.

3. the word first mean come/show before second. Mean first beast is the first 3.5 years of tribulation not the second.

My opinion of these verse is, Pope make people worship the first beast. Pope has great power to all nation even before the 7 year tribulation, I remember you believe this as well. But he does it secretly. In the middle of tribulation, he will do it openly.

Yes, Daniel saw world powers. The final BEAST will be a world power made up of Islamic extremists. If you look at the symbolism in Revelation you will see that it is ISLAM who is riding this world power BEAST.

This could be a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem but it could also be the Vatican in Rome. Either would fit.

You keep saying this but where are you getting that from? Sure there will be some saved Muslims, but generally speaking, most will NOT be saved. Paul was pretty darn clear about this.
