what was your name previously on the forum?
Of course they are trolling, but....... why? There is something they are drawn to here, or they would not be here... they would be with friends.

I am not sure what you expected? For us to make God answer your prayers?

As said, if you don't believe, it will not happen.
If you pray according to His will, in faith, it will.

God tells us.......in everything give thanks....when you ask God ....you are suppose to thank God and claimthings as if you have already received it.......not begging.....not with doubt......if you pray this way....you willfind more productive prayer......God knows our hearts.......its like when your child asks for dessert for dinner....Its yummy.....its a favorite part of the meal.......but its not good for our bodies and minds.....and if its all we eat....we become sick........so we tell our children.....no......God knows what we ask for before we ask.....He also knowswhat will happen down the road.....so sometimes His answer is no......God gives us free will.....if our will becomesHis will....things fall into place....but God doesn't want us to love Him because were are told to....He wants us toknow what love is.....to experience true love......His love.....we need to trust that God knows the best for us......There have been times when I pray for things that later I found that I'm glad God says no......He has kept mefrom some things that could have hurt me......have heart.....keep studying.........through peace brings understanding...find your peace......and know we all want to help you......reach out......peace .....jo

Not sure if I should ask anything of GOD.I tried before
Let's let Billy Graham answer this.

Q: Why doesn’t God seem to answer my prayers?

A:
So often we are inclined to think that the only answer God can give our prayers is “yes.” We need to remember that “no” is an answer also. “No” is certainly an answer of love on the part of our Heavenly Father when we ask Him for things which are not really for our good or for His glory. God does not always give us what we want; He gives us what we need. Just as a good parent does not grant all the requests of his child, God does not answer every request in the way we desire.

When we think of “unanswered” prayer, it may be that we do not understand the way in which God responds to our requests. He may not grant an immediate answer, and sometimes our prayers are answered in a way that we fail to recognize. We pray for prosperity, and sometimes financial stress is given. But our souls are made stronger for the test. We pray for health, and affliction is given, and we are better able to sympathize with those in affliction. God makes no mistakes, though at times we may question His wisdom.

Our motive for making a request to God must be pure. If your prayer is self-centered, concerned with the gratification of your own desires, God cannot, in faithfulness, grant your requests. James 4:3 says, “When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."

Perhaps you are praying for a person close to you, and you have not seen any changes. God can work through your prayers to soften a heart or to bring about circumstances to draw those for whom you are praying closer to Him. However, God has given man a free will. If your prayers are not always answered as you expect, it is not because God is not working in the situation. It may be that the person for whom you are praying has not yet responded to God’s call. You must not permit yourself to give in to despair. You should, however, continue in prayer, knowing that the Lord is more concerned for them than you are and that it is His will to help them; read 1 Timothy 2:4, 2 Peter 3:9, and 1 John 5:14-15.
Better than any of us -- or at least me -- could answer it. God bless.

To the forum,

This is not intended to be critical! How do we discern so quickly the difference between someone who is hurt , disappointed, and honestly seeking answers; and someone who is trolling? If someone comes challenging God and responding directly to questions; they should not be fed fluff; but I think they should be treated as sincere until they unequivocally prove otherwise. What are your thoughts?

I didn't come on this site to be judged, put down. I asked a question that I wanted an answer to. I should have known better than to ask CHRISTIANS. You group of people are the most fault finding; most critical judges of all.thanks for allowing me to see once again that being one of you includes putting women down and attacking anyone who doesn't agree with you.
I can see where you get that. seems as if the worst enemies revealed are within the church. One thing positive though, they are not subtle as is our adversary Satan is.:confused: LOL

Not so sure. All people are at different places, and have different defensive responses and investigative techniques. AND, they are not necessarily going to "catch" what we are saying, just because WE know what we meant.

I have to feel that ALL of them are here for a reason somehow connected with God's calling..... even if they won't recognize it.

Mr.Marc. let me first say. I do not even know what you mean when you say trolling. I am not into social media. I have no Facebook page. Twitter. Nothing at all. This is my very first time on anything like this. I came Asking a question. I didn't ask of anyone on this site to make GOD grant my prayer request. As I stated earlier I have read the bible for myself. And yes I tried him, take the statement however you want. I tried him and I didn't understand then nor do I now. The bible says a great deal about praying to God.and all I'm saying is when you desire with all your heart for death to pass on by you want the bible to be true.

And when you only have a few days to come up with money for rent or whatever and with all your heart you go to GOD with that desire. You want the bible to be true. There has been times when I have prayed for and with others and there are times when you can't wait for the answer. I was on the phone with a friend as they were putting her brotherto death in prison and GOD didn't answer our prayers. I could give lots of examples. My question was sincere and I thought simple. Ag didn't come here to be criticized.

What I am saying is that I think members of the forum should, in my opinion, treat questioners, like yourself, as sincere until you give unequivocal evidence that you are not.

A troll is a person who comes on the forum to waste our time not truly seeking answers. I was suggesting that some of us may tend to label people as trolls too quickly.

I have responded to you as a sincere questioner and until you give me real reason to doubt your sincerity, will continue to do so.

My wife and I have had a house burn down, loosing everything we had, and our son die 10 years ago. These are just 2 things of many that have happened to us, and with us through the years, but we never thought that God wasn't answering our prayers. In fact, in retrospect, our son dying was very merciful to him. We are content. Many times we are tested, and what we think is best may not be the perfection that God has waiting for us in the end. Faith through trials can be rewarding. Trials by themselves can be devastating. My wife and I know this. Through 43 years, since our new life began, God has increased our faith through these trials and temptations. My favorite scripture is Romans 5:1-5. Whenever I read it I think about my time in Vietnam, and then think about scores of other things including the 2 that I mentioned. It's a blessing, and I love to share.

What did you ge, when you asked?

When I was young and going to college, I asked my dad for a car thinking he understood I wanted a fairly new car that I didn't have to get fixed often. He might have understood that, but gave me an old car that needed to be fixed about as often as I used it. That doesn't mean Dad didn't answer me. It meant he didn't answer me the way I expected.

I asked Dad to let me know if he ever got to the point of being proud of me. He said he'd let me know. That was an answer. It's over 40 years later and I'm still wondering. No use reasking, since he has dementia now, so I'm not sure I'd trust his answer if he did answer me. (And, oddly enough, I'm fine with him never answering. I don't really live my life to please my dad.)

Then again, my dad isn't God. My dad can only give me basic human answers. God can go way off expectations on answers, and yet still answer affirmatively. He's equally capable of giving Nos and Not-yets.

I asked God for patience long ago. I was young and dumb, so assumed he'd just dump it on me and I'd be patient. Alas, didn't work out that way. He is developing my patience, but he's been doing it for 43 years now by dumping one you've-got-to-be-kidding-me problem after another on top of me, and then us (got married in between the asking and the now), to remind me my patience is through him. Got to say, not the answer I wanted, but a far better thing than the answer I wanted. I don't even necessarily like it, but it's working. I'm a bit more patient than I was when I first asked.

So, what did you get when you asked?

Ah, then you're not wincam. (Nor will you understand why I wrote that.) Sorry about that. The reason I asked is because this other person gave such short details I rarely understood the question. You gave such a short detail (at first) I wasn't really sure what the question was either. I'd still like to know what you've asked.

This is an honest question to you . . . If you don't trust Him in the first place and you don't believe that the Bible is God's word . . . WHY would you expect Him to answer you?

In order for you to receive anything from God . . . you must first believe in HIM, you must believe that He sent His only begotten Son . . . that Christ died for you, confess Jesus as Lord and believe God raised him from the dead, i.e. you must be saved.

we ask when we think its the rite time to ask. but God has a plan and answer our prayer only at the rite time he decides.

remember the saying " we know wats good for us, but God knows what's best for us..."

the more we pray and ask the more we are close to him. we are depended on him always ...if we get everything we want without asking there is a chance that we forget God.

Have faith in God and continue praying

1john 4:14- "and this is the confidence that we have in him, if we ask anything ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, he heareth us

v.15-" and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know, hat we have the petitions that we desired of him "

Why are we told to ask? We have a heavenly Father. Being the caring, loving Father that HE is, it gives Him joy for his child to come to HIM and communicate, ask and enjoy His company and fellowship. Never ASSUME that you need to keep a distance away from your DAD and that he should automatically know everything anyway, so why treat him as if he is a big Genie in the sky to keep dishing out our desires, requests and wishes? Relationship, relationship, relationship PLease! Yes, ASK, Pray, Seek, cry out to HIM, THANK and Praise HIM..HE deserves it and you should never hold back from wanting to get near HIM. HE loves you more than an earthly father, brother, sister, mom, etc. HE simply says to "ASK....it is HIS will and desire that YOU ask...when HE answers, be it yea, nay or WAIT.....that is His answer and you can bank on it.

even though God knows our heart an what we need he still wants us to ask, that shows our faith in him, if we ask and dont get it, then we have ask amiss, just asking for things that not his will for us, or things that can harm us spiritually he will not give it.

and i have read all other post in this thread, as far as the word of God is concerned is does not contradict itself, the word of God is spiritually discerned, it takes the spirit of God,the holyspirit that lives within his people to show us what it is saying so we can apply it to OUR life, to live Godly in this present evil world.

if the you have not been born again you will not have the spiritual understanding that is needed to live Godly, and no doubt you will find contradiction because of the lack of the spirit....for the carnal mind is enmity( the enemy) against God. but if you are looking for answers from God, then keep looking don't give up,because satan will do everything to keep you from finding that peace Jesus can give. keep reading the bible, read in matthew, mark, luke, and john... Jesus said in one place there that if you could not believe in him at least believe in him for the works sake... see the works he done in the word of God... i am believing the lord will show YOU what you need to know.
