when a person says offensive things to you maybe even insulting your integrity...
Lol...

I get a least one of those for just about every post I've made on this forum.

I probably hold the record here for most insults received per post count.

So yeah...

Christians gonna Christian.

Nothing new under the Sun there.

But we should all as Christians be seeking also to earn respect? Our points of view should seek to win men and women by arguments from Scripture based on sound spiritual reason, and that should earn respect if not agreement
When you say winning Men and Women are you talking about the unsaved or Christians with a different view of things from yourself? In the case of the unsaved unless God is leading them to make a commitment however sound and reasonable you may think you are it will be water off a ducks back to them. However they may still have respect for you for other reasons.l

I think this subject needs to be addressed. let me get straight to the point. when a person says offensive things to you maybe even insulting your integrity ... it is natural to get mad back and want defend yourself and say "that is not true" I am not an evil person...I am a kind person...yes and sometime we will have to defend our integrity

but what about that peaceful person who is learning about God and has his doctrine slightly wrong....maybe he's slight conceded...or slightly pridefu...or slightly high minded...do we teach love and respect with forcefulness?
do we lash out with harsh judgements or even slightly harsh judgements
no...we are Christians (Christ-like) okay and if we have to follow Jesus' example we should not attack we should be peaceful...
we should have compassion....

Galations 5:22-23
but the fruit of the Spirit is love joy peace lonsuffering gentleness goodness meekness temperance against such there is no law.

Mathew 7:1 judge not and you will not be judged...
romans 3:23 for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God

King James Bible
It is always important to be kind, but debate is not unkind- arguing is. Arguing is angrily going back and forth like a tennis ball- "Yes it is" No it isn't" Yes it is!" "No it isn't!" But debate calmly gives the other person a new point to consider each time. We must all be open-minded, make sure our beliefs match scripture, and above all be respectful to one another. But it is a Christian's job to teach scripture, and to expose false doctrines.

with a heavy heart, those in the BODY of Christ must always be at hand to 'judge'
their fellows, as this is their 'duty' to the BODY, in order to maintain a semblance
of Godly Order...
