First of all, every Christian who gives in church financially is feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, clothing the naked, making disciples of all nations, and training men to become new ministers in thier land, and/or whatever your congregation’s funds go to.

Second of all, we all have our jobs in Christ, but not one of us has all of them. Yet every Christian should help those who personally cross their path, and share the gospel at thier personal opportunities to do so. But not every Christian is going to preach to multitudes and feed the hungry in multitudes and teach bible school and mow the church lawn and provide marriage counseling and clean the church kitchen after potluck and (the list goes on and on). Not one person does all the jobs there are to do in Christ.
I agree with you completely. The works I mentioned are just examples that Jesus used in Mt 25.

Oh really, so then a person who is physically disabled perhaps like a quadriplegic who is totally dependent for most all care, has few resources, and house bound cannot call himself a Christian?
No, what he said was simply "does not work". The need for "works" is not negated because of the existence of some hypothetical or non-traditional situation. This reasoning is common on CC.

Yes not that these bodies of death do not require things necessary for sustaining this temporal life. But they are used in parables to bring out the hidden gospel in respect to the eternal called the hidden manna in Revelation. . Its the kind of answer Jesus answered John 's request with as a parable..

Again we use the temporal to reveal the eternal , all of the descriptors below speak of the unseen eternal.

Luke 7:22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

Its the kind of religion God accepts . Working with other believers who at one time had no father in heaven(fatherless) but were unwed ( widows)as pertaining to the bride of Christ. All things a new with new creatures.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

That can include those who do not know Christ but again it is not the focus. We are to feed them both. our necessary food as well as the food that comes from hearing the gospel .
I really like this post garee. You have seen some of the spirit of the words and shared them. :)

"whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?"-1 John 3:17
Doesn't have to be goods. I knew a lady once who spent a lot of time in prayer. I have no doubt in my mind she will be greatly rewarded for her work.

The person did not seem argumentative. It was a very civil discussion.
Okay good. Then his concern is to keep people building on the solid foundation, which is Jesus crucified and what that bought for you rather than anything a man does. Its so easy to get turned sideways to a focus of what we must do rather than a focus on what He accomplishes in us.

Without Christ we can do nothing. Being yoked with Christ makes the load easy.....that is as he works in us, with us, to both will and perform His good pleasure as a imputed righteousness . We are not to complain and murmur .

If he has begun the good work in us with us he will finish it to the end. He is or confidence. We put no confidence in the flesh, nothing , even of his own flesh he informs us it does not profit .

Many disciples walked away in unbelief (no faith) . Some offered wonderful works that Christ did not deny .Christ told them to depart calling them workers of inquity.

In a different thread a user told me the following. There are tow saved Christians A and B.Christian A works feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, and clothing the naked. Christian B does no work. Both Christians die and both go to heaven. The difference is that Christian A will receive greater rewards than Christian B. Do you agree?
What about Mt 25:31-46 where it seems those who do not work go to hell
according to matt 25, only one group go to heaven. I believe it is not because salvation by work, but salvation produce a good work, because when we have faith in Jesus, mean we invite Him into our heart, and Jesus in our heart produce good fruit, and that is love

and pure love is not only help the rich. In my country every body love the rich, most people in my country will be proud to have a rich or powerfull friend. I remember one of my friend put a police general in his house, to show that he is his friend. That is not pure love. Pure love is love the poor, like what Jesus say in matt 25

Salvation is by faith, not by work, but produce loving work

You don't do things for God, you do things with God.

A world of difference.

And I think it's time to let go of this going to heaven thing, when we realise heaven is within us you don't worry about that and allow God to bring it through us. When your bringing it, your going to it. . Still learning this by the way.
