If they were saved, someone must have shared with them the words of the Bible, the gospel of Jesus Christ. And they believed the words that were shared. Faith come by hearing and hearing by the words of God.
I agree, but there are conditions for everything... Jesus does not say that knowing the Bible (God's word) is necessary to being saved. But like I said before in another post... Once you are saved, the Holy Spirit that will come to you will make sure you get God's word one way or the other.

However, this does not address the fact that there are people out there that have heard about Jesus, Maybe has been preached to yet have not accepted Jesus up to this point. At that point just prior to Death, if they call HIS name, I believe they will be saved.

It is said that more lives (men) were saved in a fox hole (WWII) more that any other place history up to this point in time. This has changed over the years but these young fellows had a lot of opportunity to get saved prior, yet find themselves in a FOX HOLE waiting for the hammer to drop finally made them make a choice. There are a lot of people that are like these soldiers and some of them will never get that chance to call His NAME...WHY Wait?

So let me throw some stats into the mix. These come from the Barna group concerning Evangelical Christians:

19% are living with a partner outside marriage

37% do not believe the Bible is totally accurate

45% do believe Jesus was sinless

52% do not believe satan is real

57% do not believe Jesus is the only way to eternal life

Does that change or confirm how you feel about reading the Bible?

Does the state America is in reflect these beliefs?

Yes, it is sad but with the Apostasy in American Churches growing, I am surprised it is not lower. It has predicted that roughly a little less than 1/3 of Americans will be 'Caught-UP' in the Rapture. If this is the case,,only about 100,000,000 will disappear without explanation at one time. If we apply this to the UK's population only about 20,000,000 will also disappear. It will vary throughout the rest of the world but it is estimated much less than the combined total of UK or the USA will get Raptured.

Correct unless a person without knowledge of the mark of the beast recieves it. in which case that is a permanent wreak that cannot be fixed.

PrynceNY..... just what do you consider a scenario where this would happen and What do you consider the "Mark of the Beast" is?

first, with the probability that you will die without the "MOB", I would think you will know about it. At this point you either believe in the Beast or you believe in Jesus Christ and become a Martyr.

My opinion of the 'MOB' is not a code, not a card, not an RFD implant BUT rather something ties you to the Beast's religion. Maybe a drug changing your DNA (maybe ) to stop the aging process, etc. or implants increasing your physical and mental abilities. Rem, these people worldwide have already been sucked into a world Religion RCC by the Whore that rides the Beast in the Gap following the Rapture and the first 3 1/2 years of the Tribulations.

Some people say they have faith in Jesus but don't believe in His Resurrection. Makes me wonder what attributes of faith we must have in Jesus before we receive grace.

It is pretty clear that Jesus Knows your heart and you know that for certain if you have the Holy Spirit within you. IF you have to ask, You need to go back to GO and start over.

Johnny_B.... If what yo say is true then all those whom were dying (had not a bible to read or could read a bible if they had one), called Jesus' Name, would not get saved.

In this is true, this makes Jesus a LIAR and the Bible useless because he tells us; that whosoever shall call upon HIS name shall live forever.

Well Johnny _B, what say you!

Romans 2:12-16 "
For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel."

If it is biblically based, God oriented, and spiritually applicable, the world takes it as sound doctrine and calls it christian.
Many are misled not knowing the truth. Many Christians are misled thinking that it's common sense.
I often wondered what lobbying it would take to get a censorship on half of the garbage out there brought on by television and radio to have a valid endorsement from the christian community. Saying that we endorse this movie, documentaries, etc. Or to have the sponsors of such programs have to say if it was endorsed or not.
The way some of these so called churches present itself has the word Christianity right along with the words foolishness, and fanaticism.

The world doesn't like our God because he endorses accountability. No one likes that. But if they only knew that God took it upon himself that burden and has set us free and that half the garbage they call Christianity is just that...garbage. Wonder if it would make a difference.

On a lighter note I saved on my auto insurance by switching to geico.

So I found this link from my brother in law who responded to these people online. They are saying that you dont need a Bible to be a Christian. If I press them they say the Bible is useful but not necessary to the life of a Christian. Heres a link to what the believe...

How Can You Call Yourselves Christian When You Don't Believe in the Bible?

What would you say in answer to this?
"Study to show thyself approved onto God." How can we have the mind of Christ if we don't read scripture- which changes our minds to be like His? We will be judged according to the Bible, shouldnt we therefore know what it says? And if we are judged by it, that means it is a determining factor in our eternal fate. What could possibly be more important?

ACCOUNTABILITY!!!! YES!!! Thats whats missing in the common Christian teachings.

It may be morbid but that is what I am looking forward to.

I would posit that the great falling away has a lot to do with Christians that do not read and know their Bible. They lose faith and how can you lead someone else when you yourself don't know which way you are going?! Hand in glove. We need the Bible like we need air to breathe.

I believe that is a reference to my post 268. That God endorses accountability.

In genesis we find that Adam blamed eve, eve blamed the serpent. This world blames there actions on circumstances or being misunderstood, racial profiling, etc etc etc the blame game.
God said all have sinned and come short. God hold us accountable for our actions.
Until we realize that we are a sinner and are guilty as charged we will never see the truth.
The solution to that problem is let's reinvent God. Let's make a God in our image.
One that I can relate to, one that blesses my way of thinking.

What the Lord has said is sin this world has renamed it to make it acceptable. And the action of these so called Christians are helping the cause.

Maybe yes maybe no. Personally I do believe you have to believe the word of God. I surely am not going to be the one who calls him a liar. On the other hand if you misinterpret what's written I don't believe he's gonna hold that against you.

It depends on what misinterpret means though. We have people saying there is nothing wrong with being homosexual or transgender. The Bible clearly says its wrong and yet churches are beginning to accept it.

I propose that it is impossible to be a Christian yet not believe the Bible.

First; if you do not believe the Bible then your "armor" of God is incomplete as you now lack "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" (Eph 6:17). When Jesus was tempted by satan His defense, and attack, was "as it is written". If you do not believe the Bible you have no defense, or attack, of "as it is written". Notice how when Jesus said "as it is written" satan had no argument against those words.

Second; 2 Tim 3:16,17 says that all scripture is inspired by God so that "the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work". If you do not believe the Bible you are not equipped for any "good work" for the Lord.

Third; God speaks to us by spirit and word. God speaks to us through the Bible and if we do not believe the Bible then we cannot learn from it. We would be lacking teaching we so desperately need.

For these reasons i believe that it is impossible to be a Christian and not believe the Bible.

come-on,

how many of us were coerced/spelled, into 'walking-down-the-isle', and making a 'fake-confession'???
all we have to do is 'look-back' at our behavior, AFTER THIS MOMENTIOUS EVENT!!!???
