All opinions welcome . . . rude people, not so much.

I'm not one for turning to commentaries, but would rather turn to people whom I can ask questions and clarify. Therefore, in the Scripture below, why will Jesus hold the current body of Jewish rulers and authorities responsible for the deaths of previous Prophets and Holy men? (And women - throwing that in.) I cannot find a way to make this fit with the primary contexts of the Bible . . . help!

Matthew 23:34-36 NLT - "Therefore, I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers of religious law. But you will kill some by crucifixion, and you will flog others with whips in your synagogues, chasing them from city to city. As a result, you will be held responsible for the murder of all godly people of all time--from the murder of righteous Abel to the murder of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you killed in the Temple between the sanctuary and the altar. I tell you the truth, this judgment will fall on this very generation."
We are made righteous through Jesus Christ. We will be heirs with Him. His Father is our Father now. So we have a shared eternity.

The Jews Jesus was addressing are of THEIR father, the devil. All sin will be ascribed to him and his children. They will share in his guilt and his fate, in the LOF.

No worries buddy. We ALL get passionate about different interpretations on a whole host of issues. Wouldn't want it any other way.

It was the primary reason I started THIS thread a number of yrs ago. Because as long as we're one on the essentials, we are brothers in Christ. Check it out.

They perverted the Law and anyone who spoke against them they found a way to get rid of. They even did it to Jesus.

Don't they still do it?

Although several sects of Jews ended in 70 ad,two continued after 70 ad.
Christians and Pharisees.

But following the several clashes with the Roman authorities during the late first and early second centuries CE, the differences between the Pharisee version of Judaism and Judaism in general became blurred. Consequently, rabbis today are seen to be the descendants of the Pharisees by most scholars and Jews alike.

100%. What you described takes up a big portion of the Plan of God regarding the Blessed Jews.

Do you mean todays Rabbi teaches the Law and denies Christ as the Messiah like those from Jesus' day?
Some of today's Rabbi are Messianic.

I think todays messianic Jews in israel amounts to less than 1 percent of the population. One of the signs of Jesus coming is the Messianic Jews will be beaten in the synagogues.

Mark 13
9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

Of course those rabbis in the synagogues will probably enjoy watching the Messianic jews being beaten, imprisoned and murderd.
