She is going to have an abortion if she cant find someone to take the baby. She wont go through an adoption agency because she wants to know her child is gonna be well taken care of and not mistreated.
The first thing I would do is point out how irrational this is. If she cares so much for the baby, wanting to know it will be well taken care of and not abused, then why would she kill it in the first place? How is that a better or a more loving option? I'm reminded of Proverbs 12:10, which says the "mercy of the wicked is cruel."

Consider this same logic applied to my elderly grandmother: "If I send her to a nursing home, she might not be treated kindly by the nurses... But I sure don't want to take care of her myself. Besides, I wouldn't be much good at it. So I'll smother her with a pillow as she sleeps."

After all, it's not like an adoption agency is a Russian roulette where they hand out babies to anyone who walks off the street.

But if it came down to it I would take the child myself. My mom and I took in my sister's baby when she refused to take care of him and, to be honest, I wouldn't have it any other way now.

Abortion is an awful thing and I am against it. My prayers are with you and that baby. Good luck to you and GOD bless you.

The high-school-aged daughter of a friend of mine placed a child for adoption some years ago. They found a church-sponsored agency, that allowed the girl to look over the profiles of several different couples (names removed, of course) and choose the couple who would raise the baby.

There are still agencies like this out there.

There is a young girl i know, i used to tutor her and She used to live with me. Her name is Portia, and i love this girl to death. She is 16 and just found out she's pregnant. Her life is a mess. She lives with her boyfriend in some random persons house. Her mom wants nothing to do with her, neither does her dad.

Portia can no more take care of herself than she can a little baby. She is going to have an abortion if she cant find someone to take the baby. She wont go through an adoption agency because she wants to know her child is gonna be well taken care of and not mistreated. Which is understandable. However the people she knows that could take the baby are just trashy, the worst kinda people really. So she is really leaning toward an abortion.

Here is the predicament. I cant stand around and just let her kill this baby because no one will take it, but then again there is a lot that goes into getting a baby and raising it. I'm not sure what to do here. I mean wouldnt God rather me take the baby and just trust him for everything else rather than her kill it.

what would you do???
I have had a few friends who have done open adoptions and they get to be part of the childs life and are sent pics from the parents. If you really can't find anything else and you really can let her kill the child then maybe God is telling you should take the child.
May your walk with God be sweet my sister!

I agree. Bethany in Memphis is one of them I know. They even manage snowbaby cases. When a couple does invitro, the clinic freezes multiple fertilized eggs until the procedure is performed. If the couple decides to not go through with it, Bethany even takes on the eggs and finds them homes. If they're this precise on babies that are still only a few cells large, they take even greater care for a child with a beating heart.

I recently confessed to the Lord in the presence of other Christians the abortion my girlfriend had years ago. I have not known such deep despair, thinking of my little son who is now with the Lord, in a long time. I don't know why it took so long for the Holy Spirit to reveal to me how wrong this was; perhaps because I have only recently returned to the Lord. I would implore anyone to think very long and hard about having an abortion or counselling a partner to have one. Someday you will realize what you took part in and believe me the pain is horrible. More than that, it is obviously not God's will that his creations be destroyed, and that is the most powerful reason to never do this. My prayers are with those trying to decide what to do.

First of all my own heart goes out to you. I know the pros and cons of adopting and abortion. By and far, it's better to adopt out than to abort. I'm very much pro life and if I were to have any type of say in this and I've even offered this to a friend at one point, I'd adopt the child and raise him/her myself. Or even help her find a decent family who can't have kids of their own and let them adopt the child. God bless you for your patience in handling this matter. Pray, God will give you an answer that is right. Both in the eyes of others as well as what is right according to His perfect will. Remember, we aren't skilled to understand His will or His plan. But we know at His right hand is the One who is our Saviour! Definitely pray about it for sure and He will make a way.

True that, but now I want to know what happened! Nod, can you fill us in, or is it a private matter?
