You have no argument! All you have are insults!

Flip your own scenario: Just as blacks were lynched in the past, non-heterosexuals are victims of lynchings (and murder) even TODAY!

My, your tone is HARSH, Utah! Good thing I wore my thick skin today! Thank you Jesus for protecting me!
Big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big yawn.

No, I'm not saying 'that a Christian can be in a physical relationship that is either gay or bisexual and not sin' - I'm saying that a person can find the same sex to be attractive, and be a Christian.

But, now I'm questioning whether I am a Christian because I have not been changed.
Please see my earlier post on who is a Christian. I think there has been a misunderstanding here. Everybody struggles with sin. It is the Holy Spirit that will reveal in your heart how to walk in the Spirit not in the flesh. No one here is against you. And we do love you. Jesus saves us. Not us following Him or us trying to be a good Christian. If you haven't already, then ask Him into your heart as Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit will DO the rest. Then you will KNOW you are a Christian.

You've been nothing but mean and rude to me here. Why would I go read about your ideas on another thread?
Typical liberal hiding from reality.

The Truth awaits you.

1. For the third time, attraction does not equal desire and neither include action.
What is the deal with the need to keep the attraction? Why refuse to just deny the attraction? Why is this an impossibility?

And also, race is not equal to behavior. Whether or not you choose to be urged by something is not the same as acting out on it. Saying that being gay is equal to being black is on level with saying being a thief is on level with being black. Both are things you can say no to doing. So the gay = black thing is not an argument anyone should consider.

Quick to attack, slow to love. Is that the motto here?
Quick to defend the Word against agenda-driven newbies is more like it. You don't even want to see the love here that's afforded you.

With debates like these, theres always the chance that someone whos in need could be here reading these threads looking for answers. For example, there could be someone who struggles with homosexual thoughts whos seeking God but being guided wrongly by the world.

Thats why these conversations should be taken seriously, and answered by using the Word of God. If people become angry because they want to play the victim by saying youre being mean to them by telling them they should resist temptation instead of embracing it as a part of who they are, then let them. Im more worried about others who are reading this thread then I am about finding "middle grounds" with someone who has a confusing argument.

Temptation can be tough, you dont have to deal with homosexual urges to know this. But we also know that with Him, we can overcome them. And even if we fail, He gave His life for us. All we have to do is repent and continue our walk with Him. Lets not let ourselves be brought to chaos trying to look like good guys by struggling to give into a middle ground.

Hope I dont sound like a know it all, but this isnt just about one single person, anyone could be reading this, and we should try to do whats right and keep to God's word. God loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son for them, but we have to repent of our sins.

Just finished reading your testimony. Curious-did you write this 13 years ago?

Again, thank you for sharing.

After reading your testimony, I realize that I am not a changed person--I am not a Christian.
Well you sure can be. He offers all forgiveness, and thank you so much for taking the time to see where I was coming from. I am telling you that God wants you as much as anyone else who has ever walked on this earth, it's just hard to get to a point where we surrender everything to Him. LOL you read what it took to get me to that point, but I am extremely hard headed though, but the peace and contentment I have inside now that He gives I pray everyone would accept. I still look forward to hearing from you anyway, you can even message me if you don't want to make it a public conversation. I will be looking for it, but no hurry at all.

Well, however you guys make it work for you. I just found it interesting that two former "males" posting on a thread about homosexuality have adopted a teenage female's avatar. LOL
I don't know what you're talking about.

Actually, I changed it before entering this thread. I'm most definitely a male though. I checked.

So you're saying homosexuality is a mental disorder or moral failing?

You can discuss this for50 more pages, but if your not studying the Word, nothing's changing. Your heart will be condemning you too. 1 John 3

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Ro 12:1*-‬2 NKJV

Though prayer is important, it's the Word that changes us. He'll take away that attraction, unless you keep going back to it.

Understand, iniquity, sin, transgression:

It's iniquity. The indwelling man of sin. It's the perverse bent inside all of us. For one it's homosexuality, for me anger. Because of my iniquity of anger, I would have outbursts of wrath. Which resulted in sins and transgressions. The problem was my anger, that's what I had to deal with. Once I did that, the outbursts of wrath sins went away, along with all my excuse for my behavior.

Iniquity is the root, sin and transgression is the fruit.

Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! They also do no iniquity; They walk in His ways.
Ps 119:2*-‬3 NKJV
http://bible.com/114/psa.119.2-3.NKJV

Deal with the root and the fruit of unrighteousness will go away as well and you can be done with the excuses and shame of your failings.

Homosexuality is a sin. The bible is clear in that, and I don't doubt it. I do, however believe that people can be romantically attracted to the same sex, not that it makes it just, it's still a sin, like any other. I recently read Same-Sex Attraction and the Church: The Surprising Plausibility of the Celibate Life by Ed Shaw, a pastor who experiences same-sex attraction but still believes it's wrong. It was really interesting and a big eye-opener.

Quote " I have not been changed."

This is where it starts for all of us. As we get closer to God we change, the further we walk away the less we change. Walking in the flesh vs in the Spirit. And we keep coming back to this point. Someone said we're like the children of Israel going around the mountain again.God loved us before we ever took a step towards Him. The Bible says work out your own salvation in fear and trembling. And so here we are, asking God to help us change. Its a race to the finish line,if we endure we'll see Him face to face.

I dont believe a person can live the gay lifestyle and be a Christian. I believe a person can be struggling and be saved. Its an attitude of the heart. We know we have sin and we need to repent and change direction. And that was what I was saying all along. If I missed what you were saying I am sorry. But to me there are people who are in bondage and no one wants to tell them the truth. We have become PC in the church and I feel we are leaving people in darkness because we are afraid of preaching the truth. And the truth is God will deliver us, He has a better path than the bondage of homosexuality or any other sin. I hope you better understand where I am coming from.

Referring to Roger's post, ALOT of newbies leave because they say there is no love here. Y'all might wanna think about why that is and how we can improve it. After all, we must sound pathetic when we warn people to avoid the BDF like it has the plague. :/ Jesus must do a face palm when he looks down on this site and sees all the discord and strife. just sayin'
