there are...but not fully biblical..
And there are holy wood animations..
None of them close to what Holy Scripture says..

i think the one that came somewhat close was a real time movie 'Passion of the Christ' and mel gibson did suffer a lot because he tried to do something Good in his life by making that movie..
Many people had their eyes got opened for the first time to what cruelty Jesus endured for their Redemption..
the devil did destroy his(mel's) peace for that...

Hope and Pray he(mel) will someday become a devout Christian:)

Evangelion is NOT a Christian based anime. The message of the gospels are not there. At most there are slight parallels between events in the story with some symbols from old Christian mythology which doesn't reflect the beliefs of modern Christianity. When I say old Christianity, I mean dark ages stuff back when much of the population wasn't able to read the bible for themselves and believed in a lot of stories that were not on biblical teachings. I could go on and on about what Evangelion's message is and how it is not related to Christianity, but I think I'll just stop here.

Kino's Story is something that I would say has Christian themes involved in it. It isn't throwing around Christian symbols like Evangelion does but its message is one that syncs well with the Christian worldview. The series has some violence, but it isn't very graphic.

Samurai Champloo (WARNING: Most of the series is full of worldly indulgences so if you don't want a series that has the character going through those scenarios than avoid this.): This series focuses around a girl, and two allies, as struggles to understand the meaning of family in a world that seems cold and corrupt world. Only through forgiveness and loving others like yourself does she begin to understand what is important in life. All of this leads up to events that can be viewed as showing how the persecution of Christianity can have disastrous effects on a society and its most vulnerable members.

There are also two fun children's series, "Superbook" and "The Flying House", that go into the stories of the bible in a very broad overview. Both of them really just introduce children to the story and give a nice little Christian message in every episode.

But to be honest, it is hard to find Christian animes. Christianity is not very common in Japan. The Christian symbolism in Evangelion was just used because those in production thought that it would make the series seem more exotic to the Japanese viewers.

Sad but true... There really aren't any "Christian Anime" because Christianity isn't nearly as prevalent in Japan, but I still LOVE Anime nonetheless... :)

The only two that I know of offhand are At Jesus' Side and Jesus: He Lived Among Us. To my knowledge they are available with English subtitles and Japanese audio only.

Sad to say but there's more Biblically accurate Christian films than even Passion. For example The Gospel of John is based word for word from the NLT. At any rate, this is really here nor there as neither of these are animes.

same the closest I can find is Blue Exorcist but of course its about the son of satan so its not for every christian and I just remembered one 666 Satan its about a boy possesed by satan with the mark of the beast predicted in Revelations Its by Misashi Kishimotos twin brother so it looks just like Naruto In english its known as O Parts Hunter because 666 Satan may be to edgy of a title for americans lol. I also learned an interesting fact about Christians in japan from a yaoi anime of all things (I didnt know it was a yaoi before watching it) In Japan they use to hid baby Jesus in Buddha statues to escape persecution

Blue Exorcist is the closest to Christian I've seen, but it's still not quite there unfortunately... :/ It's essentially no different than Ghost Rider or Spawn for example. Why every series that involves the battling of demons and Satan must have the hero don the powers of demons and Satan, I will never know. I guess the world just can't accept the powers of God now can they?

Certainly not true. There's animes with amazing storylines that do not involve violence. That's all opinion.
I know, I know, it was just a joke. No need to get technical. XD

I actually happen to like a few non-fighting Anime myself.

If it could, secularity would cease to exist.
So true. They can't accept a Godly hero due to the moral obligations that come with it. (Plus I think the subconscious guilt of not accepting him)

In the Animeish Novel Im writing called The Hand of Faith the main character gets Godly powers in his right hand. It really can't be considered an anime but the characters are drawn in anime style cuz im american lol and true you get to be more edgy if you got satanic powers kind of like a anti-hero thats a hero

I used to write Anime-themed fiction. :) The difficulty in creating an action themed Christian series is the struggle between dependence on our own power versus dependence on God's power... :/
