Best way to lose weight I've ever seen for people that don't exercise is when they change their diet from the cookies, ice cream, cakes, sweets, sugar drinks, fatty meals, etc... to vegetables, vegetable proteins, vitamins, and drinks that don't have fat or sugar calories. Never fails.

For starters I have prayed about this many times.
And what did God tell you? After all, part of praying is listening, but, since God rarely audibly answers, listening means search his word for answers.

What does the bible say about attractive and weight? (I have no idea. Neither were things that interested me enough to delve into.) Or... how did God answer you?

Easiest way to lose the weight is to understand the math. It takes 3500 calories to make 1 pound. Want to lose a pound? Okay, figure out how to use up 3500 calories. If you want to lose a pound a week, then cut back by 500 calories a day. Want to lose it a day? Cut back 3500 calories per day.

It's not as complicated as people make it out to be -- consume less. If you don't want to consume less, exercise a lot. (One hour of walking is about 200 calories used.)

I am happily married to my wife after 38 years! She was a natural beauty queen, fair queen, state farm queen and just a drop-dead georgeous lady. Today, she is still beautiful..but there's more of her. Genetically, she is now like her mom and the rest of her ancestors. She is happy, in general, but I have yet to find a woman fully satisfied with her weight and age. I fell in love with her personality and that has not suffered. Yes, there comes a time in everybody's life where Frumpy, Dumpy and Lumpy come to call...
I see your wife as being more of an attitude and/or mentality situation. A man can survive a marriage if his wife is a happy soul, full of life, laughter, fun and surprises..but once she has settled down into a slump, does not do anything nor care to 'dress herself up" or try something different and is always predictable...that makes for a long haul.

This makes me think of another good rule for anyone encouraging someone else to lose weight: Never advocate that someone else go on a diet that you are not following or willing to adopt alongside them. So tell me age of knowledge have you ever had a diet that consisted of only veggies, veggie protein, vitamin pills and no calorie drinks? That sounds like pretty miserable eating to me.

That assumes that the number of calories you burn at rest is constant, and it isn't. How many calories you eat (and what macronutrients they are made of) affects how many calories you burn. If you start eating fewer calories every single day, your body adapts by making you hungry (because it wants more to burn) and cutting energy expenditure in other places so that it only burns what is available. God was pretty smart when he designed our bodies; they adapt to changing conditions to survive.

"for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part."

To the OP,
i respect your candor, but love is more about the heart and soul than outward appearances. Many women love their husbands and would do anything for them because they love and care for us, don't have to be with us, and often put up with our grotesque inward flaws.

Should we not look past their outward flaws as well? The words we use towards them at times can be cruel and degrading and it shouldn't be that way. Please ask yourself how you would feel if the shoe was on the other foot.

Hello,Your love towards your wife should be like Gods towards u,without conditions. Also u should see her like God sees her a treasure, his child, valuable, important, useful, part of Gods great plan think about others, before yourself, love her on the inside first.Look at yourself, u may just not love God enough and thats why she is taking the brunt.

He doesn't seem to have gotten the answers he wanted. He is not responding to his thread. What a surprise.

your not wrong for talking to her about it. Especially if it is causing health issues. Ive gained weight since my 2 pregnancies and i want to lose weight because it makes me depressed but i felt like i was going to starve also. There are appeitite suppresants from a doctor that you can get that will help a lot. The most popular one is Contrave.this is the one my dr gave me but i can afford the $50/month payment for it. (wack insurance). I went on review forums and everyone loves it so on tax season im buying it. If she can start taking that and then changing her diet little by little like changing the kind of bread you eat from white to wheat changing the pasta you eat to wheat bread etc then making sure everything is grilled or baked instead of fried. You can change your diet without dieting small changes like drinking more water than sweets etc. But first tell her" I love you so much and i don't want to lose you. I ask you to lose weight not for me but for you and our son. He needs him mom to be around to see him have children and to get married but i love you and support you and understand that there are ways to lose weight without starving yourself. Please just think about going to the dr and asking about what can be done about losing weight without starving. Tell her i want to continue to grow old with you without health issues. I miss us the way things use to be. i just want u back"

Ah. So God can't give you what you want, only she can. You won't even bother God to find your answers, because it's squarely on her shoulders.

I am able to trust hubby because I know he trusts God. Your wife doesn't get that. That might well be the cause for this effect. I ache for her.

Give up "man-up!" It's destroying your marriage. Replace it with God-up.

Yes; however, I learned that I had to veer off it two meals a week randomly so my body didn't get used to it. This allowed me to keep losing weight steadily. But yes, I have done the vegetarian diet with some dairy before and it worked great. I know it sounds bland but it's not. You quickly learn how to make all kinds of teas, coffees, seasoned popcorns, rices, different kinds of vegetable proteins, fruits, how to prepare fifty types of vegetables a hundred different ways (though fresh veges microwaved in stoneware for about five minutes was always my favorite), cereals, good vitamins, etc...

As was wisely stated, calories is the number one issue. Other important issues follow that address the quality of your food choices (e.g. fat, sugar, sodium, taste, etc...). You need to get them right in order for it to work for you.

Yes, I've done it and enjoyed it too :). Have to stay fit and ready to take the bull by the horns if he gets froggy and charges ;).

What's it matter anymore? He laid this all on his wife, and she isn't here.

Some men imagine real problems if their wives gain as little as 10 -15 lbs
My wife was thin when I married her and she has gained around 25 lbs since then, but still looks great to me! The fire is still burning. :p
