Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ: I thought I would start this thread as a means of self-encouragement. I've been having a rough morning, but was reminded of a sermon I heard in church about offering up the sacrifice of praise when it feels the world is coming down around you. When I look up for his provision and grace, my problems pale in comparison to his greatness.

Please feel free to join in on the praising! I praise the Lord today for His goodness, His kindness, and especially his mercy! I praise and thank Him for keeping my family safe during the evening hours and waking us up this morning! I praise Him because He is worthy to be praised!

Amen Tumnus! Yours is a message that we all need to hear, and heed, frequently. I know that I myself have to be reminded of my many blessings often. But when I do think of them, I realize all over again how praiseworthy He is.

I praise God today for the gift of unbridled joy! Bless my mother's heart, she was up most of night laughing and talking to hallucinations (she has vascular dementia) in her bed which woke me up to tend to her. But here is the goodness of God: I said "Mom, who were you talking to last night? You were giggling and laughing all night." She looked up at me with her cute, toothless grin and said, "They voted me to be the head of the choir! I was at the party with all the other little girls. It was such a surprise!" God is still good, y'all, even when I forget sometimes. LOL

Tumnus, I remember a moment much like this with my own mom before she passed. She was hallucinating from the strong drugs given during her struggle with cancer. Just home from the hospital, we were up at 3am reading the many cards she had received. When finished she sat back in her chair, smiled , and told me what a good time she had at "choZn's" house last night. I said, "Really? What did you do?" "Oh, we just looked at cards," she said, with the biggest smile on her face.

I praise God for the mother I was blessed to have for 38 yrs, for the christian home I grew up in with parents who nurtured my faith and took me to church. I praise God for His Son and the salvation I am so unworthy of, for His unconditional love that I wish I could mirror as well. I praise God for answered prayers and for carrying me through the valleys of my life.

Hang in there, Tumnus. I applaud you for seeking to praise instead of sink. Psalms 118:24 must already be implanted in your heart. God bless you.

I was actually going to skip posting in this thread today. I was in a foul mood and confronted God with it. I gave Him my pitiful two cents and I know He patiently listened to me. I was operating in the flesh and took my focus off of Him. I was demanding answers as if I had a right to expect to be given ALL the answers. I was reminded of Job 38:1-4 "Then the LORD answered Job out of the storm. He said: Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand." That shut me up real quick.

So I praise the Lord today for being a loving Father to a sometimes petulant child like me. I love you, Abba Father.

Simple praise today: Thank you LORD for the gift of sunshine and the beauty of your creation. Psalm 19:5-6 "In the heavens he has pitched a tent forthe sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes it circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat."

All praise and glory to God for seeing my mountains and turning them into molehills, for granting peace where chaos would reside, and for the wonder of His love that surrounds me in so many forms every day that I don't always see: the beauty of creation, the laughter of my children, the security of my job, a phone call from my husband.....too many to list.

I praise Him for gift of sleep and rest. After stressful situations, God allows us to rest our bodies and minds.

Thank you, Tumnus. I praise God for you, your kind words, and the encouraging spirit He has gifted you with. I praise Him in advance for whatever is to come today, knowing that He is in control and I rest in His care. I praise Him for His constant watch over me and His devotion to all things that concern me, big and small. Lord, help me to return the favor in at least some small symbol of sacrifice to You, my Maker. Amen.

When things are not going well or you are facing trouble, that's the very time we need to praise & thank God - that is while the Word refers to it as a sacrifice of praise. In that moment when you are angry with God, if you take time to praise Him, your perspective shifts & you realize how truly blessed you are!
I want to praise Him for being my Lord & Saviour, my best friend, my abba father, my alpha & omega, my light & salvation, my rock, my refuge, my ever present help in times of trouble! I could not begin to imagine my life without Him!!!

I praise Him for His James 1:17 daily gifts "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."

I praise God today for His provision. Blessed is Jehoveh -Jireh! Had to take my loved one to emergency last night. He provided kind ambulance drivers, good doctors and excellent nurses to care for her. I praise Him for providing the people and places we need in moments of urgency. Blessings to you all.
