Tithemi/Oh Praise Him/I Have Decided

1st song - Tithemi

All fear, all pain, all hurt, all grief, all lies must bow to Jesus’ name.
All kings, all thrones, everything that breathes life, must bow to Jesus name.
The earth, the sea, the sun, the stars, the sky, must bow to Jesus’ name.
Hallelujah. Kings, crowns, thrones – Bow down.
Fall face down – Bow down.
Kiss the ground – Bow down.
Jesus, you hold the crown – Bow down.

2nd song - Oh Praise Him

Oh Praise Him.
The resurrected Lord Jesus the Lamb who was Slain, The mighty Lion of Judah with Blood on his Mane.
We love You Lord Jesus, we Lift up our lives and sing, All Praise Honor and Glory to you Christ The King.
The faithful True Witness Your Song we will bring.
Our Lord Everlasting Bridegroom Judge and King.
You are worthy Oh Jesus you paid with your blood,
You redeemed us a people that live in the flood of your grace Lord.
Oh Praise Him. He is Holy. He Is Worthy.

I'm sick of all your rules
They're so man made
You treat them all like fools
You put My name to shame
I'm everything you're not
I give them love
My ways you have forgot
You put yourselves above

I'll testify
It's time to see religion die
The truth can't lie
It's time to see religion die
Who cares?
Who's right?
It's time to see religion die
I'll crush the fight
It's time to see religion die

My church is not inside
You're building walls
On Sundays you all hide
While the world just falls
Now go into the world
And destroy hell
You have authority
Use it for the kill

I'll testify
It's time to see religion die
The truth can't lie
It's time to see religion die
Who cares?
Who's right?
It's time to see religion die
I'll crush the fight
It's time to see religion die

Children come away with Me
I want you all to be Mine
I am
Taking back what's mine, and
You've killed too much time with
Pointing all your fingers at your kids that's why they're lost
Try to look deep in
Their eyes
You will see suicide
Blame it on yourself cuz no one else will pay your price
Your price

Die just
Die religion
Die just die
Die just
Die religion
Die just die
Die
Die
Die
Die
Die
Die
Die
Die religion die
Die
Die
Die

Do not be afraid
Religion is man made
Everything is OK
The rules have just been changed

Withered (John 15: 1-17)

I am the true vine
My Father is the gardener
He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit
He prunes the fruitful branch so it will be more fruitful

If anyone does not remain in Me, He's like a branch that's
thrown away and withers,
Thrown into the fire and burned

I am the vine, you are the branches
If a man remains in Me and I in him
He will bear much fruit
Apart from Christ you can do nothing

As the Father has loved me
So have I loved you
Now remain in My love

If you obey my commands
You will remain in My love
Just as I've obeyed my Father's commands
and remain in His love.

This ones a bit more ... graphic .. and uhh... strong lyrically. In case people wonder why they wrote this, in some parts of Europe some people still practice and believe in ancient religions. Many are transfixed by the ancient viking beliefs and religions, as well as celtic and other similar old pagan religions. Its not so common in the US, but the secular counterparts to this music (stemming from Europe), it is very common. So this song was sort of an attack on those ancient pagan Gods/Godesses.

And to end the night on a fun note, some Christian bands like to write some songs like this... just about rocking out to some metal and having fun...

BEcause its not evil? I wasnt asking any questions.. Let you have your conversation? Im not putting any sticks in your wheel im just saying why take risks..

Im not disrespecting you or the choices you make..

What do you think about this?? God's View of Secular Music (Part 1 of 2) - YouTube

Only trying to get some clarity in what you dont regard as an issue.. what I see in that video makes sense to me.. but not to you?
In case you haven't noticed, we are not discussing secular music. If you insist on trolling, at least stay on topic.

I listen to a group of christian metal bands. Theocracy (Love this bands and the lyrics are awesome), Becoming the Archytype (except new album with the genre change), Divinefire (don't care for the vocalist), August Burns Red (One of the FEW metal-core bands I can actually like), Renascent (Very good Swedish Symphonic Death Metal), and Immortal Souls (Decent Melodic Death Metal although they feel repetitive to me). I've gone through tons of Christian metal bands trying to find stuff I like and I'm sad to say that the genres I like feel so lacking while the metal-core scene feels overly loved. =(

I like Symphonic, Power, Folk, Melodic Death, and Blackened Death. All these metal genres are amazing to me. But seriously not enough quality Christian stuff in them. So these genres get filled in by a smaller than alot of peoples but good quality library of secular music. I listen to Bands Like Dark Tranquility, Insomnium, Be'lakor, Eluvietie, Ensiferum, Kalmah, Wintersun, Battlelore, Anciant Bards, Rhapsody of Fire, Sabaton, some Dragonforce, and Blind Guardian. I don't Mind Fantasy lyrics Like Battlelore which have all Tolkien Inspired lyrics. What I do avoid is lyrics that praise pagan gods (like Odin example), anything that sounds antichrist or satanic (even if the band claims to not be satanists), has sexual content, hardcore violence, or anything that makes me feel uncomfortable in my spirit. All those points I think are covered in the bible. Its hard for me though, especially since I enjoy metal so much.

personally, when i gave up secular metal, i tried christian metal for a while and that didn't sit well with me either. some of my friends still listen to metal. i guess i'm kind of like the alchoholic who gave up beer to God and now can't even take a sip without feeling bothered. all moderation goes out the window.

i can share your feelings of it being hard. some of those bands you listed were my favorites blind guardian particularlly. i could tell you their entire discography in chronological order.
one things for sure. the Bible says to not even mention the name of another God so we know that singing about false pagan Gods does not fly, even if we don't believe in them and are singing pure mythology. God has blessed you with wisdom on the subject. much peace my brother.

Lamb Of God are NOT a Christian band, despite the name. Before they were named Lamb of God the name of the band was Burn The Priest.

I agree the Christian metalcore scene is flooded and bloated, but so is the secular music scene with metalcore. Usually every so many years a new style comes along and replaces an old popular style. For some reason, no new styles, or even resurgence of old styles have come in to shoot down metalcore, so it keeps on top and just drags out and is now almost a parody of itself its been so long on top. Quite sad that our music industry is at a creative standstill.

teamventure - We all have our own paths to walk. I'm actually the opposite as you. When i was younger my dad watched a lot of that 'rock music is of the devil' stuff, and i overheard it. By the time i was a teen i was afraid to even listen to Def Leppard, out of fear of somehow being possessed through the music. So much fear and paranoia was created by these people. Despite my fears i still felt this liking of the music. I started taking 'risks' of listening to the popular songs by the biggest bands, but would be afraid to play a whole album. It took me about a year to get accustomed to listening to a few albums. Even though i was listening only to hair metal bands, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, GnR, etc... i HATED the heavy stuff, thrash, death metal. I had never really sat and listened, but it just 'knew' it had to be evil.
Then i got saved. Within a few weeks i had been loaned a compilation CD of Christian metal, the first few were more rock/metal and i was digging it. Then i heard the two heaviest songs on the CD, and that i'd ever heard. Deliverance (speed) and Vengeance (thrash). OH man, i LOVED this stuff. I couldn't get enough heavy stuff to listen to. I got every new CD that came out that was heavy, and still doing a lot of the rock/metal stuff too. (All Christian). So for me, my true love of metal, especially heavier stuff, didn't come til after i was saved.
I only share this not to argue, but show God directs us all in different ways. If you felt God steered you away from metal, even Christian, thats fine. God's will is more important anyways. But the bible does show us there are somethings that are ok for some people, but not for others, and we are not to push those things on each other.

i agree. i can only speak for myself and how metal makes me feel. i can't speak for others unless there's something blatantly wrong with the lyrics. i had weapons of our warfare for a while. great record and i love the sound clips. they were epic. but it didn't sit right with me in the end. maybe it's just how it affects me.
i'm going to go show reinxeed and theocracy to a friend of mine who isn't a christian but already listens to secular metal. maybe it'll send him in the right direction.
much peace my brother.
