All I ask is that we remember that there is a verse in the Bible that flat out says.... God is love. Not God is Judgement the statement is God is love. Yes, God will judge but His character is love and He will judge out of that love and we each will get our judgement that is due to us.... This is not our job this is God's job... We are instructed to love our neighbor do good to them who spitefully use you pray for our enemies.... theses are our instructions....

Pull the 2x4 out of your own eye before you work on the splinter of your brother.....
Peter in Acts,
But you have taken and by wicked hands have crucified and slain.

You do the same. If you need help, let me know. My vision is a lot clearer. Got some splinters, though.

JesusLives,
I appreciate your responses in this thread. I do. They remind me that I need to be careful with my anger. Okay. Still believe we should expose the error and sin of the RCC.
Thank you for your patience!

The reason I cause problems for some maybe is because I want to win our dear Catholic brothers and sisters and we will only do that by showing God's love not condemning their Pope and showing harsh judgement towards a leader they have been taught to respect... do I agree with the Catholic church? not so much, but chasing people away from Christianity because of harsh judgement will not win them. Being a friend and showing God's love will.

I used to work for a couple in their 90's that were Catholic and the sweet lady said to me you talk about God as if He were your friend and I took that to mean she feared as in was afraid of God... But the God I serve is one of love and we need to show that to the people we are around.... She and I were friends until she died at 98... I cleaned house for her and her husband for 4 years every other weekend... Sweet dear couple.

That was preaching the gospel of salvation not judgement of people.... That was preaching Christ and Christ alone as the way of salvation not judgement.
So you think the Gospel Paul preached is the same the pope preaches. If not, there's no condemnation involved?

There must be warning which involves judgments...

Acts 20:28-30 KJV
[28] Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. [29] For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. [30] Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

I don't know what the Pope preaches..... I just don't think it is our place to be so judgmental of others no matter who they are... It is God's job not ours.

I don't know what the Pope preaches..... I just don't think it is our place to be so judgmental of others no matter who they are ... It is not our job.[f/quote]It is indeed our job to challenge false teachers in truth and in love.

Titus 1, NASB
10 For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,
11 who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain.
12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons."
13 This testimony is true. For this reason reprove them severely so that they may be sound in the faith,
14 not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.
15 To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
16 They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.

I'm sure Jorge Mario Bergoglio is essentially a good man, well-intentioned, believing he is doing the work of the Lord. But as a purveyor of the doctrines of the Catholic Church as defined by the Holy See, he is pushing a false doctrine which it is our duty to challenge in truth and in love.

We are told plainly to expose false teachers ...this nonsense on this forum where evil cannot be called what it is getting rather old to me ....

2Jo 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 ¶ If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

1 Corinthians 5:12-13 (ISVN)
12 After all, is it my business to judge outsiders? You are to judge those who are inside, aren't you?
13 God will judge outsiders. “Put that wicked man away from you.”

The pope claims to be a believer, his doctrine is to be judged...

Acts 17:11 (ISVN) These people were more receptive than those in Thessalonica. They were very willing to receive the message, and every day they carefully examined the Scriptures to see if those things were so.

Transcript of Pope's speech to Congress...

Pope Francis speech to Congress transcript (text, video) - POLITICO

I guess Peter was a communist after all
Apparently.

And that's in addition to being "the first pope."

Also, Shepherd Smith on FNC just said the Archdiocese of New York spent $173 million on renovations to St. Patrick's Cathedral, the primary result of which is that it's stone structure is now white instead of the decades-old grey. How many poor would that money have fed?

I wouldn't complain about how that money was spent.

In the olden days, long ago, that money would have been spent to chase Protestants.

The pomp and ceremony on the old tube this morning is about to make me spew.....a mere man worshipped as god and playing the national anthem of the not-so-holy see.......over the U.S. national anthem with the KING O all smug as a bug in the rug......nothing but a bunch of idolaters!
That was yesterday.
Today Jorge B. spoke to congress. I listened to 20 minutes of it.

Angering.

Standing before congress, he calls on America to welcome all immigrants.
He'll be heading back to Rome in a day or two, separated from the challenges, the costs, and the life threatening dangers that come along with 'welcome all immigrants.'

Politicians and the RCC are immune to the negative effects that their laws, policies, and demands create. The commoner pays.

But it's not what Jorge B. said that is most troubling. It's what was not said.
Right before him, sitting to capture every word of Jorge's, were some of the most arrogant, most self-serving, most greedy, most hateful politicians ever assembled at one time in this country. And little Jorge B. failed. He failed miserably. He forfeited the truth for favorability.

Abortion? Not mentioned. Call it what it is. Murder. Sin.

Homosexuality? Not mentioned. Call it what it is. Perversion. Fornication. Sin.

Immigration crisis. Not mentioned. Explain the cause. Corrupt governments. Those south of our border. And others such as Russia, Syria, Iran. And one of the biggest causes: Islam.

Marriage? Not mentioned. Though it is from God, by God, and of God for man and woman.

The bible. Not mentioned. Though it is inspired. Moral compass.

Did he quote scripture? He came close: "Let us remember the Golden Rule. Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." Words of Jesus. Why hide it? Weakness? Afraid to acknowledge Jesus as the standard, the rule to follow?

Well, Jorge B. was wrong."Do unto others..." is not the golden rule, at least not in DC. There the golden rule is: "He who has the gold rules."

Basically, the whole event amounts to nothing more than a corrupt religious leader displaying the results of what happens when a person tries to serve two masters. His two masters: Political power and Public favor.

To sum up the 20 or so minutes: The little bead came. The little bead saw. And the little bead dropped the standard. He forfeited a prime opportunity to present the truth.

While I watch the excessive coverage of Francis' visit on Fox and other stations (it's impossible to escape, until 7:00 p.m. when Mariners-Royals come on FoxSportsKC), a couple thoughts ...

It is safe to say that we all have heroes, someone who we think is great, fearless, lovable and inspiring. Heroes may be athletes, movie stars, political leaders, religious leaders or parents. Such a hero has come to the U.S., the popular Pope Francis. His visit is touted as an epic event that will be remembered for a lifetime.

Then again the unprecedented preparations and all the pomp and pageantry are a bit of overkill. Francis is just a man. Anyone who has been around even a short time knows men never can meet all our needs or keep their promises. Even the best of men have some serious shortcomings, faults and flaws.

God's admonition from Scripture is applicable here:

Jeremiah 17, NASB
5 Thus says the Lord: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man
And makes flesh his strength,
Whose heart departs from the Lord.

In the Bible's last chapter, Revelation 22, the Apostle John bowed to an angel. The angel quickly corrected John:

Revelation 22
9
But he said to me, "Do not do that. I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brethren the prophets and of those who heed the words of this book. Worship God."

Jorge Mario Bergoglio is asking Catholics to violate the very tenets of God's word by accepting this adoration and faux worship. He should be ashamed.
