I like Ben Carson, but I don't think he's qualified to be president. As far as I can tell, he has no executive experience. He's never RUN anything from a nuts and bolts perspective. We've got that now in Obama and look how the man can't run the gov't.

I do not agree with the above sentiments that a republican controlled executive and legislative branch would be bad -- there is a third branch, you know, and the Supreme Court can throw anything out!

was that supposed to be a 300?
The USA was a world power before WWII along with other countries, but WWII changed the scenario. The USA & Soviet Union were the world's superpowers after WWII for many years until the Soviet Union was dissolved.

Well, I think Ben would be considerably better than what we have now - but I'm not sure he would be the best candidate. It's encouraging to see more moral people standing up and wanting to do something about our current situation. We need it.

I don't touch politics with a ten foot pole, I don't even vote.

Essentially, what I'm trying to say is... don't vote for people based off their religious views. That's just stupid.

The annals of past American leaders, events, and documents including our founding fathers would take exception to your views. Everyone has a religion if it's not having one at all, that's called a world view

Wow, kind of forgot about this thread for a bit. I like the differing views and opinions and some do prove a point.

No, they aren't an exception, because I never claimed political leaders shouldn't be religious. I simply said we shouldn't vote on people according to their religious views or how much they want to push their religion through law. Our founding fathers are evidence of this.

Well, ya'll all ready know my opinion on this matter. I was reading through the political news on CNN and found an interesting article about Ben Carson. I figured I'd share it for all the Carson supporters and just plain political junkies like myself.

Ben Carson: 'I feel fingers' from God to 2016 run - CNN.com

Seems to me Carson is at least considerring to run for President given that he is forming a PAC, has left FOX News, and has a decent sized base of supporters.

He has some interesting things to say:

"A lot of black people actually are conservatives and actually do identify with more conservative values, but what has happened that it has become so unpopular to be identified as such that people would prefer just to go along to get along with everybody else,” he said. “The Republican Party, in particular, has to come out with real programs that show that they are willing to invest in their fellow citizens with the return being moving people out of dependency.”
