New Book, ‘Clinton Cash,’ Questions Foreign Donations to Foundation

The book does not hit shelves until May 5, but already the Republican Rand Paul has called its findings “big news” that will “shock people” and make voters “question” the candidacy of Hillary Rodham Clinton.

"Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich,” by Peter Schweizer — a 186-page investigation of donations made to the Clinton Foundation by foreign entities — is proving the most anticipated and feared book of a presidential cycle still in its infancy.

The book, a copy of which was obtained by The New York Times, asserts that foreign entities who made payments to the Clinton Foundation and to Mr. Clinton through high speaking fees received favors from Mrs. Clinton’s State Department in return.
This isn't Fox News, Weekly Standard, or National Review toutiing this book as a boat-rocker for Clinton, as some of our resident liberals will suspect. This is the New York Times, which along with Fox and the Washington Post, have exclusive agreements with the author to pursue story lines raised by the book.

With a 65% disapproval rating, Clinton can't afford another big hit like this one.

Lol wishful thinking. You won't erode Hillary's support base, they're a pretty loyal bunch. Then the average apolitical person, they don't really care about stuff like this. They vote for simpler reasons (ie: because she's a woman (see other recent Hillary thread.))

As was predictable the GOP has fallen into the trap of talking about nothing but Hillary. That won't win them an election. A wiser strategy for the GOP is to focus on promoting their own. That way they might at least hold on to the Congress.

Never thought I'd see a Democrat admit that "loyalty" means overlooking graft, corruption, extortion, and foreign patronage. You do realize that's what you admit by saying even this "won't erode Hillary's support base," right?

No one ever went broke or lost very many elections underestimating the gullibility of the clueless, gullible, and blinkered left.

This is the very problem with politics in the US and why this country will continue to erode at it's very foundations. People don't seem to care how corrupt a politician is or what that particular politicians ideologies really are as long as that politician speaks about how much they "care" about the "common" people. It doesn't take much digging around to realize that the only thing Hillary cares about is power so that she can increase her personal wealth.

This is an interesting article that exposes how much Hillary really "cares" about people.

The book will be a boat-rocker if.

1. The information in it is shocking.

2. Its thesis can be delivered in plausible soundbites people connect to.

3. Everyone and his mom spreads the information. Not just conservative.

If these things do happen, people it will be incorporated in Republican messaging. If they do not happen, it will just be another book like Edward Klein's The Amateur-A brilliant indictment of Obama that will be a book long forgotten.

Lol, I guess you'd be disappointed to know I am not a Democrat. For to be a slave to the Democrat or Republican Party seemeth to me unnecessary when one is all ready by default king.

Have some foresight. Is the GOP's only platform in this election Hillary Clinton?

My judgement therefore then to the GOP is take a leaf out of Hillary's campaigning efforts so far. Quite genius really. Hillary is out there speaking to the very kings she wishes to get hired by, not even just Democrats, whom will fall in line like good pawns for her anyways. Meanwhile the GOP talks about Hillary. Hillary is talking about several big issues, whether you agree or disagree with her. Meanwhile the GOP is talking about Hillary. Is their slogan even now "Hillary Clinton!"?

You claim to reject both parties, but don't know the content of the GOP platform? So, how do you have sufficient information to reject it?

My suggestion would be to review the last couple weeks of video clips and web articles from the various centrist news organizations rather than taking your clues from CNN, MSNBC, the broadcast networks, and The New York Times or The Washington Post.

I realize those media outlets are claiming that the Republicans are only talking about Hillary. I realize Hillary is claiming that the Republicans are only talking about Hillary. I know, however, that the Republican candidates are talking about issues -- something the liberal media is unwilling to focus on, something Hillary is unwilling to focus on. The fact that you claim that the Republicans are only talking about Hillary tells me where you get your news, and who you really support.

So forgive me if I discount your first-paragraph disclaimer.

Lol I know well enough about the GOP, both the good and the bad and how really there is not much of a difference between the GOP and the Democrats. For no wonder.

I watch a variety of media, even foreign media. Them GOPers sure do talk a lot about Hillary, but you sure don't see much news about the GOPers talking about the issues. Just look how many topics you yourself have made on this very website in this very section and compare how many pertain to Hillary as opposed to the GOP potentials. Behold, this is even one of them. Are you now the liberal media?

And you keep proving that you don't really watch "news" but left-wing liberal slanted Democratic Party/Hillary media releases under the guise of news.

If you actually watched a "variety of media" you wouldn't be able to say this, or you're guilty of left-wing bias yourself. The more you say stuff like this, the more you disprove your own words.

Lol, is any news media except for FOX news now liberal media? Again, are you even the liberal media?

Looks as the GOP will be going the way of Lord of the Flies by William Golding for the next 20 months. Talking smack about Hillary and Obama in New Hampshire, but not putting forth any solid plans of action. I read Lord of the Flies by William Golding, and even I know how that story goes. Won't be long before the GOPers start fighting eachother unless they change. It is ironic, but Jeb is actually looking like the high road player so far. Therefore is it soon to be time to pass him the conch shell in hopes that the GOP will straighten itself out.

Try reading The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, anything but the liberally slanted twaddle CNN, MSNBC, NYT, Washington Post, etc. peddle as "news." Geez, even The Atlantic Monthly is a balanced and fair news observer. The fact you don't realize there are centrist news outlets besides Fox News -- which is one you erroneously call conservative -- is just further evidence of your disingenuousness regarding your sociopolitical viewpoint.

I know it's wishful thinking, but I would like to see a candidate break out from the current pack of animals and show the nation's people that he/she are something other than power hungry politicians.

I won't hold my breath.

I wouldn't. Lack of oxygen causes brain damage ...

... which is what is wrong with most presidential candidates, I'm convinced.

Go easy on Grandma Clinton, she's the best bet for a conservative victory in Nov '16...we don't want to see her sunk in the primaries.

Honestly, does it matter? Yes she is incredibly corrput and wicked, but the entirety of the democrat party, if not as blatantly corrupt as her, is a cancerous political group that pushes socialism and has control of most of the media, the education establishment, the low info voter, the untold millions collecting various forms of welfare, milllions of illegal immigrants, unions, and those who hate Christians. If she falls there are legion of others to take her place. Perhaps a severely wounded Hillary would be the best option.
