you post this like it's even worthy of a response at this point...given that the information below has been widely reported already i am forced to conclude that you are not being ignorant but actually dishonest...

but just in case anyone might actually be misled by your dishonesty...here is exhibit #802,701 in the case of 'trump v. common decency'...

"But now I am writing you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer..."

"...who is sexually immoral..."

"...or greedy..."

trump had to be publicly shamed by the media before he actually handed over the money he had collected on behalf of veterans...
trump has used eminent domain to seize property from other people in order to expand his money making ventures...
while claiming to be 'self funding' trump has actually only -loaned- money to his campaign as far as the books are concerned...his campaign now owes him money which he can direct his campaign to pay back from funds collected as campaign donations...

"...an idolater or verbally abusive..."

the material for this one is virtually unlimited...but here are some 'best ofs'...

"a drunkard or a swindler."

two words...'trump university'...
trump is also known to be using somewhere between 10% and 20% of his campaign funding to buy things from himself...

"Do not even eat with such a person."

this would seem to rule out things like presenting him to the christian community as a 'person of character' etc.
Holy cow. That is a well written response. Its still all your opinion tho. Lol. Let me see if I can think of some words to describe it:

1)Lot of assumptions being made based on someone knowing details one can't possibly know

2) High horsiness....wait a minute...that is sort of the same as assuming......never mind on number 2

3) Presumptuousness...dangit...that's basically the same as assuming too.

4) Authoritative snootiness.....crap... I can't think of anything unrelated to being an assumer of all things....I give up. Lol

Thank God we have some Christian leaders with some common sense from God...The never Trump folks seem to be members of the westboro Baptist church .

yet again you make the same baseless false accusation of 'hatred' without providing any examples of said 'hatred' as proof...

you confuse -having basic moral standards- with 'hatred'...
If you were merely offering basic moral standards you would be my hero, but you hate Trump to the point that the darkness in your heart not only borders on evil, it downright resides with it.

Again I offer to you Exhibit A, Jesus' teachings found in Matthew 12:36-37.

"I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

inigo-montoya_that-word.jpg

um...no it -isn't- 'all my opinion'...those were direct quotations from trump himself plus other verifiable facts that anyone can check and confirm...

in other words...pretty much the exact opposite of mere opinion...

this is why it is so hard for us to have rational discussions...you 'opinionize' everything...no matter how factual an argument is...you seem to have no appreciation for the weight of evidence...and just write it all off as someone's opinion...

God had nothing to do with this meeting where the name of jesus wasn't even mentioned...and everyone knows it...

trying to get the christian church to buy into a whitewashing of stark moral depravity is not 'common sense'...it is deception and a total dereliction of their duty as 'christian' leaders...

true shepherds protect the sheep from wolves...but these so called 'shepherds' are now stealing and destroying any sense of moral clarity in the church...

apparently now you must be a 'member of the westboro baptist church' if you object to even textbook cases of immorality...

as of now you have lost all credibility in criticizing any candidate or political movement on moral grounds...because here for everyone to see you have shown that you adhere to only -selective- morality...

what is worse...you have made donald trump your single overriding standard for morality...this is idolatry...

repeating a false accusation over and over is not going to make it true...

Caught this piece the other day. Thought it may be relevant to the discussion/argument/war.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/26/u...-believe-it-evangelical-leader-says.html?_r=0

Dr. Dobson is a pretty level-headed guy. Unlike many of the "evangelical leaders" who have come forward, extolling the virtues of Trump, Dobson appears to have no immediate skin in the game.
Interesting article. I think some here think Trump has been a Christian all his life. Lets say he was saved just before his running for office. Do we know what kind of mentors he has or if any? He needs guidance for sure, but don't we all? He is most likely a baby Christian and he has a ton of flesh from his past to deal with. This will come with time if he is honest about the bible being his favorite book, and if he reads that book daily.

I think we need to look at ourselves when we were new Christians. I know I didn't change over night and I still need a lot of change in my life.

Agreed, that is why this article has given me pause in my mad dash to assume Donald Trump is nothing less than a total reprobate. Though not as big a reprobate as Hillary I might add. :p

And I suppose you think Hillary isn't corrupt? At least Trump hasn't been involved with murdering americans overseas.
Hillary's inadequacies as Secretary of State are irrelevant of Trump's inadequacies. Satan is worse than Hitler, but I don't think anyone would want Hitler to lead us simply because "... at least Hitler wasn't an angel who fell from Heaven."

I hope so. For his sake and ours.

Supposing he has accepted Christ and is maturing in his faith (a big question, I know), it may be good for the faith by and large. He would show you don't have to be the typical Southern, rural, Christianese-speaking yokel to be a true Christian. You can, yes, be a blunt-talking, deal-making, politicking, city-slicker. Or any other kind of American for that matter.

It would give us a second look to be sure. But, like I said, this would depend on a lot of variables in which I do not have supreme confidence. But God has done more bizarre and miraculous things before.

i wasn't sure how to respond to this at first so i left it alone...it turns out waiting and letting this pan out over the past few days was the right thing to do...

...because dobson has now issued a partial walkback in response to questions about his interview...revealing that his initial interview comments vastly overstated a case based entirely on hearsay and wishful thinking...

in his new statement dobson says..."I can only tell you what I've heard."...and adds "Do I know that for sure? No. Do I know the details of that alleged conversion? I can't say that I do.' (emphasis in italics is mine)

this is for all practical purposes an admission that dobson has no idea if the 'conversion' he spoke about in his original interview -ever actually happened at all-...

what little dobson has heard about trump's 'conversion' amounts to this..."I also hear that Paula White has known Trump for years and that she personally led him to Christ."

some here will recognize paula white as a prosperity preaching heretic in the mold of benny hinn who leads people not to christ but into a false gospel...and who coincidentally has a history in this campaign of making false statements about trump's relation to christianity...such as her claim that billy graham gave trump a 'prophetic word' in a letter...which the billy graham evangelistic association refuted by stating that graham merely signed a bible for trump with 'God bless you always'

as for the motivation for dobson's wishful thinking...that is revealed a bit later in his statement..."All I can tell you is that we have only two choices, Hillary or Donald. Hillary scares me to death. And, if Christians stay home because he isn't a better candidate, Hillary will run the world for perhaps eight years."

so being 'scared to death' of hillary clinton...dobson desperately wants to imagine a donald trump worth voting for...and that desperation combined with hearsay...despite its probable origin in a thoroughly untrustworthy source...produced the wishful fantasy of a 'baby christian' trump that dobson shared in his interview...

as one final note i will also point out that dobson's supposed 'recent' trump conversion contradicts trump's own so called 'testimony'...trump was telling people he was already a christian back in 2011 when he was considering running for president in 2012...

many testified falsely...but their statements did not agree...

So let's go and refute Dobsons hearsay with more hearsay? Sounds logical. In defense of Paula, she did marry the keyboard player from journey...so I bet they have a stellar worship team.

Yes,like do unto others as they do unto you?

Isn't waterboarding a war crime?

The bible says to not be overcome by evil but to overcome evil with good.

Do you agree with what the bible says?I don't agree with Hillary either, thats why I don't really know what to do this time around.:(
