Jurors sentence Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to death for Boston Marathon bombing

A federal jury sentenced Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to death Friday for his part in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing that left three people dead, and for the murder of an MIT police officer as he and his brother attempted their getaway.

Tsarnaev showed no emotion as he learned his fate and stood with his hands clasped in front of him, his head slightly bowed. He faces death by lethal injection.
Twenty-five months to the day later, justice is served.

I am really uneasy about capitol punishment, one one hand I'm for it in terrorist cases and also child abuse but I'm just uneasy about the whole thing. Maybe it is just because we don't have the death penalty here I'm not sure.

Good.

I'm all for capital punishment for those who mercilessly kill or put peoples lives at risk.

I have a nephew the same age of the young boy that was killed, I dont recall the boys name. I dont have one issue with the death penalty but I understand if you do. Its probably because you are such a sweet person. :)

Anyone who mercilessly takes another's life should already expect the death penalty while he is committing such a barbarous act.

Actually that will take another five years to a decade or more after a ridiculous number of appeals.

You know.....he deserves the death penalty for sure because of his barbarous act.......I hope, like the thief on the cross that he trusts the Lord over Islam before it is everlasting too late......

God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked......this does not mean that I think he should not be put to death for his crime because I do!

Honestly, I'm only for the death penalty for those who are a threat to society even if they are given life imprisonment, Charles Mason and the Teflon Don come to mind. Personally, I do not believe Tzarnaev met that qualification.

Being sentenced to death in liberal Massachusetts is like getting HIV for just thinking about sex.

I didn't think it was possible.

IMO in this guy's case the death penalty is probably the most humane thing that could be done for him. Being on Death Row his contact with other inmates will be minimal until the time of his execution.

If his sentence had been life without possibility he would be dropped into general population and with the baby face he has he would quickly become the cell block's sex toy and from what I hear prison bulls tend to be pretty violent. He would basically be condemned to an existence of being beaten within an inch of his life and raped routinely until he either committed suicide, a bull beat him a bit too much, or someone from the Aryan Brotherhood shanked him.

For the capitol punishment supporters, what about that throw the first stone thing?

Murder trumps everything. If you take innocent life you lose your own.Eye for an eye.

From inside a prison cell? No, he is not a threat to society. Instead, we've begun to make him a martyr, and the worst kind of martyr, a living one. So, no I do not consider him a threat to society right now. Instead of celebrating, I will pray for him and mourn him when he passes, which, if the federal governments track record is a sign, will be when he's in his late 50s.

I disagree with the decision today. Tzarnaev was not a bin Laden or a John Gotti, who could have still run things from behind bars, instead he's a young punk kid.

Murder trumps Christ's admonition that they with no sin throw the first stone. Interesting.

I totally agree...the BIBLE is not against the death penalty..heck..the result of sin is DEATH, in and of itself. The two who worked together and brought this plan forward wanted to go to hell while teaching America a lesson. One is already there and now they can be joined together soon. They will find all kinds of other like-minded friends down there to associate with.
