I always get the creeps when I see Driscoll in any venue. But what acts in the dark shall be brought to light. And it appears this false perverse individual is finally being outed. Praise God.

He did have some truth to share at times, but yes, it's good that God is really restoring him. I pray that God works powerfully in him, his family and all who've been affected by his ministries.

He's been giving Clinton-esque watered down apologies/statements for a couple of years now in response to his various troubling "issues". Hopefully he comes right out and clearly admits his wrongs and repents. He once said the Mars Hill bus leaves a pile of bodies. If he doesn't come clean, he is going to end up being one of those bodies too.

This is a guy with great giftings who probably did what he did before he had the maturity. He should have been in the wilderness for another 10-15 years before he gained his massive influence.

Mark Driscoll is a man who let his ego get in the way of what would have been a great career and a great ministry.

He who lives by the bus shall die by the bus.

Couldn't resist.

It's a shame. I used to listen to his sermons online and really got a lot out of them. I suppose this is what happens when pastors are given too much power and it goes to their heads.

Driscoll has not published a comprehensive outline of his theological beliefs (such as a systematic theology), but his sermons, lectures, and books provide a good understanding of what he believes. He has described himself as "first Christian, second Evangelical, third Missional, and fourth Reformed."[2]

In a certain pastor's conference in August, 2005, Driscoll characterized himself as a "charismatic Calvinist".[3] This is sometimes described as a reformed charismatic. In childhood, Driscoll and his family were Catholic, and his family's spiritual progression led them through the Catholic Charismatic Renewal movement. This was his family's first introduction to the Charismatic movement, and though they eventually left Catholicism, they retained the Charismatic affiliation.[4] He believes that all of the spiritual gifts are active today (but only by God's divine intervention; he is not a cessationist) and calls himself a 5½-point Calvinist.[5] (Full Article Continues)

And let us not forget, thou shalt not steal. Mr.Driscoll appears to hold the faith that commandment is elective. He elects to ignore it for a profit.

And when called out on his theft he avoids responsibility, attempts to put the blame on the one who is calling him to account, as scripture commands we do publicly when a private approach fails. Which it did when Mr.Driscoll claims he knew the man he stole from and then excuses his behavior prior to this interview.
Interview Link - This is a real shame but it shows the lack of character Mr.Driscoll has live on the air.

He's a real shame. And thank God he's being found out.

And who can forget this? Mark Driscoll made an appearance, with his new book copies in tow, at the John MacArthur Strange Fire Conference. And then he lied about what happened at that conference and his encounter with security, on his Twitter account. Driscoll claimed on Twitter that his books were confiscated by security.
The lie is obvious when this video shows him offering the books as a gift to the members of security to whom he is speaking.
*Driscoll is in the beard on the right* Video Link (You'll have to up the audio to hear this clearly)

Six weeks. Thirteen letters in "Mark Driscoll"?

Has anyone taken aerial shots of his house? I want to know if there is anything built in the shape of a pentagram.

That's inaccurate. I saw his book on the bookshelves a while back. The book is like a sys theo book. It's very detailed.

That's also inaccurate. He attended Western Seminary and earned a masters degree in exegetical theology.

He later completed a master’s degree in exegetical theology from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon.

UPDATE (He's announcing he's taking time off. Who didn't see this coming?)
Announcement: Mark Driscoll Will Take Time Off

Twitter

FACEBOOK
(Note how on this social media account he's listed himself now as "teacher"? Not "Pastor"?)
More detail
It's six weeks.
In a pre-recorded video announcement, Mark Driscoll told his congregation this morning that he will take at least six weeks off as lead pastor of Mars Hill Church while charges against him are investigated.

Read more: Announcement: Mark Driscoll Will Take At Least Six Weeks Off
Announcement: Mark Driscoll Will Take At Least Six Weeks Off

Looks like more Clinton-esque pseudo-correction repentance.
He really needs a lot of time off.
Six weeks just gives the illusion of a "repentant" man who took time to finally discover his "faults" and change.

Can anyone provide a summary of what's wrong with this guy? I don't follow him, but have been unable to find a summary of why he's in trouble at the moment.

That link doesn't actually refute the claims against him.

Edit to add: The Nightline video link I posted doesn't seem to want to load. This is it reposted. >

Neither has anyone other than a few people that like to rip on someone so they can feel better about their own lousy lifes. They love it when a Christian falls. It makes them feel so much more secure while they're living in their sin to point out the sin in others lives.
