i only dont understand this desire people have to be married...I enjoy being single and having a place all to myself. Its nice knowing if i want to come home and relax there is nothing stopping me, same as if i want to blast music and stay up til 6am on a friday night. I just cant see another person fitting into my life that seriously

Most definitely it should never be about looks. I found out myself very recently that some people really are that shallow. Good luck to you!!!

Believe me when I say... the hurt is so much less if guys aren't selfish and talk things to a level they shouldn't with a girl they don't intend to marry. I'm not even talking about full intimacy (which is an even much larger issue). If all you've done is hugged, held hand and talked alot but decide not to move forward, maintaining a friendship should be easily possible.

*Smiles*
If a guy takes things to a level they shouldn't.. and the girl goes along with it.. she is equally responsible. So please don't be calling guys selfish. Please don't call anyone selfish.

Here's my favorite quote: A girls heart should be so hidden in Christ that a guy should have to seek Him first to find it.

I'm sure most men read that and have no clue what it means. :-(

That's all.... for now ;-)
Oh, and you have scripture to back this up?

I never read that one in the Bible before.

It's the Christian Female powerplay on Christian Men.. where a Christian woman imposes her ideal walk with God and how Christian Men should be on Christian Men.. holding them to there own standard of what it means to be a Christian. It's evident in your post here that you have a whole laundry sheet of opinions on Christian men.. just sayin'. The quote itself sounds like a 'fairytale' .

First of all, the OP didn't say it was scripture, just that it was a favorite quote.

Second of all, to say that it is a 'fairytale' shows that you know little about the heart of God. A father protects his daughter, is the one that the man should go to in order to marry her, and should teach her her value. Would you expect anything less from our Heavenly Father?

To me, any person that dismisses this quote has no right to my heart. The Bible says that we are to love Christ above father and mother and spouse and friends and children...in other words, to love Him above ALL others. This is part of what it means to hide your heart within His.

..

“Set your mind on things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” Col. 3:2-3

This quest for a hidden heart in Christ results in a set apart lifestyle that is lived differently than those who are in the world. We don’t (shouldn’t) act, dress, talk, or behave like the world, because we don’t seek the things the world seeks. We seek that which is above – that is Jesus our Lord and the virtues He bestows.

Our hearts seek no one else for the happiness we find in Jesus. And if it be His will, He blesses us with an earthly man who can represent to us Christ Himself in many ways. For the woman whose heart is truly hidden in Christ is favored to receive a man seeking after God’s heart in all his ways – including finding her. (A Heart Hidden in Christ | In Love With Christ)

..

My heart belongs solely to Christ Jesus. It is in Him that I find all my value, worth, purpose, direction, and all else that I need. My heart is planted in His, joined to His, and that will never ever change. No man on earth is worth losing my beloved Jesus.

I see eye-to-eye with you on most things. This one I agree with what you're saying, and I also understand what Sunshine is saying too.

Let me explain: In a relationship, a man is the one to take the lead. Each party is equal, yes, but it is the man's job to set the pace. It's just the way God designed it. I'm not saying that the woman cannot say no, of course she can but at the same time, women respond to what the man does. Men lead and women follow. She is just as much at fault as he is, but I do see why women might see it this way. A guy that's got the right vibe and saying the right things can kinda bypass a woman's "scruples" (I think that's the word lol)

Call her that same night before you go to bed. And stop thinking so hard.

I was going to say in my response to the quote about a girl's heart that it's true for men too...but I didn't. :) Thanks for saying it for me.

The only thing you and I agree on is the existence of God. I don't see us ever agreeing on much else.

That's one of the good things about me. I don't need folks to agree with me for me to remain firm in my following of Christ and living a pure life for Him. :) And you don't need me to agree with you for you to live your life, either.

Yeah but one of you just seems to have the need to argue everything anyone says while one tries to hold a conversation...

er...sorry again, but here's the scripture you asked for:
For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:3

I believe it applies equally to all true followers of Christ, male and female.
cheers!
