I think I may name my hypothetical son Ignatius now...just to see how much people change it. =P

lol Kidding I'd probably pick something common for a boy. like Andy or Steve. Simple names seem to fit better on men than women for some reason. Maybe that's just my opinion.

Yeah, perhaps I should have made a thread about cat names instead of babies :p
Only cats? That racist... err... animalist... If i had a cat though, i'd name it 'go away you're not wanted'. =P

Hmmm... hypothetical children with hypothetical names.

Maternal instincts are clearly running amuck in the singles forum.

Single girls discussing baby names always makes me feel... frightened.

I must implore y'all! Please, PLEASE do not name your children something weird or difficult. I have a difficult first name and it's such a pain in the bum! To make things worse, I'm the only person in the USA to have my name. People don't even need my middle and last name. Nope, all they need is my first name. That's kinda scary. I'm easily found, exposed, and that's unnerving. So please be wise when you name your bundle of joy. Their name matters.

I have a very short real name. And my parents always told me, they chose it so no one could shorten it.
And I hated that.
Everyone had a cute "y" on the end. Everyone was in the in-group just by being called a different name
by differnt people. A way to gouge the seriosness of beeing called.

No, not for me, I was always the same name.

I was 100% shure I would change it to my second name. after i would leave home.

Only when I stayed in Britain for 1/2 Year and people pronounced it differnent,
I came to the conclusion yes that is me.

But my nick is long, and I just love it when people take the time and
creativity to shorten it. :)

If people shorten your name, they tell you something, of the way they see you,
that might be good or bad, but it tells you something, and I was really missing
out on that with a 4 character name.

Patooie @ kid names. LOL But I've had 2 dogs...
An Olde English Bulldog named Wembley (who for some odd reason always got called Wembley Jones when I was playing with him & he'd get all mental...maybe because he was adventurous like Indiana Jones?? no idea)
Then there was Goosey who was a regular pedigree English Bulldog. He was a retired show dog & we were given him when he was 3 yrs old...his real official name on his papers was something somthing's Manowar. lol the breeder/owner of him,her kid's called him Uncle Morty. lol,but the breeder/owner called him Goosey, she said because he acted like a silly goose. That name ended up sticking...but in usual fashion I had variations & odd names for him, such as...Mr. Gustav Clemmens,Gustavio, and Puppy.
If I ever get another dog I do have a list of names I'd choose from...
Auggie (so when he's naughty I can call him by his full name sternly..."Augustus")
Kevin (and of course he'd be called Kevin Bacon all the time)
Roscoe
Pico
Brad Pitbull & Angelina Jowelee (if I had a male & female Pitbulls)
Maxwell
Carl
Gertie (or Gertrude when she's naughty)
Javier
Orlando
Louise
Gandalf (he'd have to be a Greyhound, and more than likely get dumb nicnames like Ghandi & Mr. U Shall Not Pass-o-rama)

Praetorian Christopher

yeah...pffthahaha! no, no I have no idea. Although, I do have some friends who named their oldest son Praetorian (who goes by Tor) and he's a genius! He's been reading since he was three and is a chess wizard at the age of 6 now! But I'm not sure that had much to do with his name...

girl: Jullianna (it's not my real name) :)
boy: Caleb (powerful Bible dude) or Benjamin (sounds like a very strong guy's name to me) or Shelby (cos Mustangs rule :) )

I named my son after the first disciple to bring people to Christ. :)

Those are awesome names. We have cats, Oreo and Fluffy. Fluffy is not fluffy, but that's what my kids wanted.
I've promised my son a dog , as soon as we can get a new fence up. He wants a Golden Retriver and he wants to name it Golden. I want a great Dane and I want to name him tiny.

Well I feel the opposite when it comes to naming people. I feel that they will only spend a small Time being a baby, so why taint the rest of their lives by naming them Howie or Connor or Tristan or Brady or Spencer or whatever Baby name is Trending.

For boys I like:
Francis
Charles
Ian
Ethan
Sacheus
Sebastian

For girls:
Evangeline or Evie for short
