No worries.
We all have questions when we continue learning. Just this morning I was reminded of that when I had a different question. Instead of my pastor, I took it to the Author of the book. I asked Him the answer and immediately flipped back a few pages and He brought my eyes exactly to the answer. I thanked Him and wrote down the reference and answer for future reminders the next time I read it. It's not always so easy or quick to get the answers, but if I seek I'll find and ask it shall be given unto me.

When my pastors would teach/ preach, I'd often take notes like you. Then rather than taking their word for it, I would study on my own time and beg God for the answers and understanding. He always came through.
Sometimes my pastor was right and sometimes wrong. When he was found to be wrong on major doctrines and continued to mis- teach basics that he should have learned first time reading through the Bible, guess what?
I sought out a pastor who was correct on the basics and where I could be spiritually fed. I eventually found what I was looking for.

Paul even expected that of the Galatians in chapter 1. He had established churches in their region and he wanted them to check out his teaching with the books of the Bible they already had.
I was reading this and a passage came to mind. Where was it? I did not know.
I asked the Author and He brought me to the verse He gave us without using a search function on the computer. He took me to Acts 17:11

"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. "

Thessalonica was open to the gospel. However, those in Berea were even moreso. They didn't take the apostles word for the truth until they checked it out with their Bibles.

We should honor and respect our pastors.
You already know what your pastor teaches about these subjects. You know what I believe too, but don't take my word for it.
May I suggest rather than asking for his explanation, simply know that he too is imperfect and rather go directly to the Author and plead with Him for His answer.
I think He will provide the correct one and bless you for seeking, for asking.

📖🙂👍
Amen health. The author is the greatest source for answers. I am a slow learner and my biggest concern is miss leading. When I'm learning I want to know the truth, there is so much false information that can get passed around and it can be confusing. You are 100% correct, seeking knowledge is best to come from the author. Another concern I have is interpreting God's word wrongfully. That's why I go to my pastor, for help. I'm not the brightest bulb but I'm not that dim either. Like memorizing versus, flash card or writing it down and things like this are not working for me. It is a struggle I have. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I love the lord and want to always be making sure I am learning his word correctly.

Like the rapture. There are versus people use to support pre, mid, and post. I am believe in pre. From what I have read and understand. But in the end I also believe it will happen but in God's timing and if we are faithful then we are ready when he does come. And yes I do know there are forums discussing this topic but it gives me a headache with the back and fourth bickering on who's right. Yet it is topics like these that I want to make sure I have learned and understand God's truth.

Thank you though for your patience and understanding. It's has been hard to have a moment with pastor one on one.

I know what you mean. That forum is full of debate. I usually avoid it too. Good idea.
You're very humble. Don't sell yourself short. You are very well spoken and probably a good reader. If you start at Genesis and it won't take long to get to chapter 18. Or go to the gospel of John and think about how Jesus responded to the Pharisees as opposed to other sinners. Whenever I sit down with my Bible, I try to remember to ask God for help understanding. That makes it much better.
Have a good safe weekend.

Well thank you health. My readings fine it's just locking in the versus in my mind. The way Jesus spoke to the pharisees was with great authorities. I do wonder if Nicodemus was saved or if he choose to remain living as a Pharisee. I almost think he ran up to the line of salvation but stopped before committing. I know that's between him and the lord but I do wonder.

I pray you have a safe and wonderful weekend as well. I am thankful for our talks that we are able to have from time to time.

God bless you health

You may still have interest, but God has shut all the doors.
Not really sure about that....

That likely means that you are looking in all the WRONG places.

I stand firmly by what I said previously.

There are more choices and opportunities now than ever before. There are literally millions of available choices afforded to anyone truly interested in forming a marital relationship. Once upon a time your choices were limited to dozens....and people still fell in love and married. Today with literally a million choices available you still can't find one?

If you can't find one acceptable in a group of a million....then Ocams Razor applies.

I started to memorize verses that seem especially relevant for now. Like Phil 4:6-7 the 'Don't be anxious about anything but instead pray about it and we'll have God's peace one'. I may modernize it up a bit but I'm always passing this Scripture around, since discovering it😂. Also, Mk 11:23-24, about speaking to a mountain (problem, etc) telling it to move and it will IF we don't have doubt, is a great one to use. "By His stripes we are healed' 1 Pet 2:24 was an easy one for me and I use it a lot. Sometimes I memorize half at a time and that helps me too, I even surprise myself sometimes, lol.

I disagree. Just because you want something, doesn't mean God wants you to have it too. I knew of a couple who badly wanted their own children. They tried and tried and had to come to the conclusion that God simply said 'no'. He does that sometimes. Genies might grant your every wish, but our Father's no genie.

I think the woman at the well who had the five husbands probably didnt find it all that hard to find five husbands but it was more keeping them that was the issue.

I dont know why Jesus said to her 'the one you are with now is not your husband' while she was sort of flirting with him though

Of course Solomon had no problem, but then in those days there was apparently no limit.

I think in most countries and in churches you cant be polygamous unless you are FDLS. I find pastors are not too interested in the love loves of their congregations unless its a really small sect and they want more members in which case it might be a step away from becoming a hippie commune.

Then it's not God saying "No" but it is you putting words in God's mouth....
Something that is a very very scary proposition. I'd be very cautious about doing such things. It's an unhealthy lifestyle.

what struck me in the Bible was how Jesus warned what it was like in Noahs day they were marrying and being given in marriage and the flood came, then he also compared it to Sodom and Gomorrah where nobody was actually getting married but doing whatever and whoever they pleased and it was struck down by hellfire and brimstone.

I dont think anyone gets more points for being married or employed or having children or not at this point when your very soul is at stake.

All your wordly concerns are going to pale when you face your maker.

Yeah, umm... No.

Jesus wanted to avoid going to the cross, and passionately entreated God to spare Him -- but asked that His will ultimately would be done. God said 'no' to Jesus' earnest desire.

Yeah don't know what that means, and at this point, don't care. I'm done with this.
Yes Gojira, 🙂 sometimes you just have to say to each his own and leave people with their own opinions, especially if they're being stubborn about it. These days if someone tells me the sky is pink, but I'm seeing its blue I dont stress to debate, discuss or argue.... I simply say ok with a smile 🙂 and move on. Have a blessed and awesome day Dearie ☺☺☺

All I know is whatever answer God gives, it’s always good. Whether yes or no, it is good.

It wasn’t fun at the time, but I’m grateful for the times God said no when I liked a guy before I met my husband. lol.

Totally agree with ya, I no longer complain when GOD closes a door because I know it's for my good and the same applies when he opens it. ☺
