So on reading the missing rip/rib thread I am now desperate to eat ribs but I do have a question!
Why oh why do we spend sooo much time talking about food?
How come all derailing seems to end up with everyone chatting about food, or how come when left to our own devises we end up chatting about food?
Why are we all so very obsessed and why are we not all in the heavenly recipes forum telling each other how to make the things we want!?

Why?

lol...that's a darn good question leelee. I dunno. hmmm....I'm sure if one of our Canadian friends sees this & posts, they will say it's because all us fat Americans do is eat & war monger. LOL I don't have any recipes in the traditional sense of actual measurments,I do it all by sight & taste. Even though I spent 9 yrs of my life cooking in a few establishments,I have my own things I've made up but can't give you proper amounts...just what goes into making them.

When I figured out the poster meant rib and not rip, I thought of McDonald's McRib.

well lee lee .. From personal experience .. I went to food instead of god .. It's a deep deep well...
I even drank from it until inbound Gods well to be unending - and free..
Now I go days before I realize I've eaten ..I don't know anything or have never fasted a day in my life ..knew nothing about it .. Gods word is as it is written

Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."

I'm here to tell you, it is true

Well, "Heavenly Recipes" can be a dark place. Ugly and I found ourselves in a heated debate (not with each other) over crescent rolls. It was very traumatic.

Food is thought to be a universally safe topic. (It is, except for those with food issues of one sort or another.) It is something that we can all relate to: "Hey, you Eat? Whadayano! I Eat, TOO!" so it is a relatively safe common ground for us to talk to each other when we don't know each other well enough to delve into he deeper places in our hearts... or when those places are too sensitive to feel comfortable posting online about.
That being said, I'm eating leftovers for lunch today: a bean burrito, an egg roll, a chicken strip, a biscuit, and an apple. How about you?

I'ma have a smoothie. Which looks like a really stupid word, now that I'm staring at it. Then later, I'll probably eat again, because...

Food. It's what's for dinner.

Actually, in this house, you can't just assume such things.

I once walked into an office conversation between two women and it was something like,

"Oh, it was so unbelievable!"

"I just have to have more!"

"I'm definitely going back tonight!"

And they were talking about a taco.

I've found that food is a heck of a lot more reliable, not to mention predictable, than love or relationships.

This is why I like to stick with relatively safe topics such as bacon and chocolate.

Er... Nevermind!!

leelee, I've had Mizithra cheese, which I think is made of sheep's milk. It's very good over brussels sprouts. yum!

:O Yes! It's also on my bucket list to milk a cow, so that would be pretty fantastic.

I've never had sheep's milk either, so I can't say that I know! My name in Hebrew means "little lamb" so it'd also be cool to have a fluffy sheep. :)

DuchessAimee, I would give up milk for three days to be friends with you! I don't know if I could go longer than three days, though. ;) But that's saying something!
