Now that my head is screwed on better than it has been the past couple of days, I can actually make a coherent response. If I had replied before it wouldn't have been pretty.

It's a common phrase. But is it true, in your opinion? Do you wish that you had never met the person that it most hurt to lose?
For the most part I hold the statement to be true. As I look back over my life, most of my relationships have, for a time, brought joy to my life and although some of them have not ended well, the pain was worth the joy that proceeded it. I can honestly say that there is only one relationship that I fully regret to the point of saying that I wish I had never met the person. Each relationship has had it's lessons to be learned (some years later) that have made me who I am today.

Do those who say "no" believe it may lead you to treasure love all the more should it happen again? Or will you fear it?
I can honestly say that the bad endings to a couple of relationships (one in particular) have made me a bit gun shy. Finding out that someone has used, and lied to you for an extended time can tend to have that affect on people.

I liked your answer, but... in the song, Garth Brooks says that if he had known how everything would go, he might have changed it... but now that he knows how everything went, he's glad he didn't change it... oh, my head. I guess love doesn't always make sense, does it?

That did not sound like the REAL Garth Brooks singing that song!

Okay, now that someone has posted country, I find it obligatory that I post one of my favorite songs pertinent to the subject.

Billy Joel - The Longest Time - YouTube

If you said goodbye to me tonight
There would still be music left write

I think it is one of the most genuine songs about falling in love and that first line more or less highlights the lasting firepower of true romance.

It still makes me think of her 11 months after being rejected.

I fear that I may treasure it all the more.

Love, the emotion, never does make sense. That's why we get hurt so badly. We know it's coming, we just don't want to "face the music".

We love to be "in love". It is the most wonderful feeling but, it is what makes us believe the lies are truth and the red flags are green.

It makes us give more of ourselves than promotes respect.

It makes us place honor where and when we should not.

In the end, we are left to pick up the pieces of our lives the best we can and rebuild the puzzle with a few pieces missing.

It is a test of faith in Christ when you are on the wrong end of the breakup.

It is better to have loved, I loved a girl in college but for fear of detailing pop!click's. thread will just list The story elsewhere. But, yes, in college I met a girl that sweeped me off my feet and I lost her and just know that things happen for a reason, His :) but was tough and i certainly learned a lot more about myself, including , although no serious rstionships rest of college, taught me to be conversational around girls, and, i danced with them friday , saturday nights the next 4 years, she a time or two, too, one Song I definitely still remember, this was my sophomore year, 'Is your love strong enough.' Jeff somethingorother sang it, but I was The only one in love when it came to us she was then engaged. But , yrah, I've shared a little, I will.share a lot in another thread. I guess that's how The Lord led that all to happen, maybe, idk. :)

I hate to say it, but it is derailing. If you wish to debate Lord Tenyson's sexual orientation and it's affect on his poetry, start your own thread on the topic.

I couldn't care less about Lord Tennyson, or his sexual orientation, so i'm not going to start a thread on it. It's my responsibility and my right to make comments here though. You lot want me out of this thread, i understand. That way you can keep discussing how WONDERFUL the poem is. You decided to be ignorant of the truth (for ignorance is bliss) so you can keep on comparing the feelings for your loved ones with the unnatural feelings of the poet. To me that's like complimenting your wife or girlfriend on her dress and hair, saying: 'Wow, you're as pretty as RuPaul.' *)

*) Yes, go ahead, look him/her up. :D

I noticed you've been getting a lot of flak lately from others in other threads too. I don't know why and I feel a lot of it has been unfair. Maybe you should change your picture? I mean maybe they're jealous or something. I don't know.

Whats wrong with my avatar?

But seriously, i doubt people are jealous of me,
and if they are that's their problem.
No worries about the flak, i can take it.

Thanks for the support btw, i appreciate it!

WOW I can't believe you got an infraction for that. People derail threads all the time around here. Even mods do it. If you want you can voice an appeal to an admin here (RoboOp or 1stillwaters).

A lesson in life. Walk into a place full of blatant arrogance and people in positions of authority will find a reason to make life difficult for you and those who would normally side with you in a debate sympathize more with your opponents.

Okay, back to the subject at hand. I'm starting to relapse remembering that girl from 11 months ago. I would like her with me now, but it is remarkably less painful.
