Did He turn it into Non-Alcoholic Wine? Grape juice? O'Doul's perhaps? To call something "wine" doesn't it inherantly mean alcoholic wine? Or was it the "so very watered down wine that it would only make someone drunk if they drank 14 gallons of it"? The guy said that he was shocked that they saved the best wine for last. I doubt that means it was watered down grape juice. I mean not everyone is a Sommelier-level wine enthousiast, but I believe it's simple enough to tell the difference between watery grapeaid and good wine...

I guess this is all subjective...I don't drink anymore and prefer to be with a woman who doesn't imbibe either. That way there are no silly hidden issues that come out, no trouble-making "friends or co-workers"" to cause bad influences for their own amusement, all the while convincing one member to abandon the other just for kicks (Satan in the house). I've had too much of that in my life, that's why I'm personally against it.
But if others can pull it off and do well with it, then my hat's off to you. We all have different lives, and lessons to learn.

I love a good Bible discussion, but did we really need to revisit this poisonous and run-into-the-ground topic in the Singles forum? No, we don't! This thread needs a good kick in the backside, returning it from whence it came.

Maybe we should just be happy that we all have our own opinions, and discuss them with each other on a personal basis?

I have not had a drink in over 20 years. I take it one day at a time. I am in agreement with you.

I made my point..... & now I will quit.

The purpose was never to force anyone to believe anything..... that is an independent choice. You've been told, therefore I'm done. There's was no guarantee that anyone would change their mind.... there never is. The bottom line is to tell so that there is no ignorance when decisions are made. No ignorance means there can be no excuses.

One only needs to look in the OT to see the patterns of spiritual digression. We are not just witnesses to it....we are also the evidence of it.

Selah.

Yes I can. Keep in mind though as I said this is distinctly applicable to the Nazarites.

Numbers 6:1-4

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the Lord:
[SUP]3 [/SUP]He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk.

(You can support this also with events in the Bible such as when the angel tells Samson's mom to make him a Nazarite from birth (Judges 13).
I wonder when the last Nazarite existed. I don't think there are any in today's age but i could be wrong.

If I am not incorrect you become a Nazarite by taking the Nazarite vows and the Nazarite vow is set for a specific length of time whereupon the Nazarite cuts off his hair after the completion of the length of time of the vow and burns it for a sacrifice along with a ram and ewe.

Though I am not sure if Nazarites stilll exist either today, or if they are even necessary anymore now that we live under the New Covenant.

It amazes me also that nobody refuted this.....
;)
Its probably because most of us have gotten tired of you constantly being confrontational. Its like you aren't happy if people aren't arguing with you. Personally I just ignore your posts as the rantings of some zealot.

Why does virtually every thread on this site eventually turn into a name-calling festival?

Maybe because every thread on this site gets visited by a variety of people who tend to have holier than thou opinions and like to act as teachers over people who never cared to learn from them?

And it continues...carry on Nautilus. We could all use some arrogance to counter the holier-than-thou stuff.

I don't know if calling it like you see it is arrogance or an opinon? But have it your way.

Well, we are free to express our beliefs in this forum. And I think since it was singles the main purpose was just to be able to gauge what others thought, and be impressed or not with their opinions. (especially those of the opposite gender that were of like mind.) :D

Perhaps we should just talk about ourselves, and not berate the opinions of others? Agree to disagree? No one says we have to give up our opinion: I don't believe anyone should drink. People disagree with me. Just means I won't be able to marry one of them that's all lololol.

The part that does a disservice to the cause of Christ is when it devolves into name-calling, haughtiness, and all the other worldly attitudes.
We can agree or disagree, but we can do so without casting aspersions simply because we disagree. I'm all for argument, if necessary. Even vigorous argument. We can do it with a degree of humility though.

NEVER! How could you even think of letting mere logic get in the way of a good argument?

That's the nicest name you've ever called me! I can only hope to be a zealot for the Lord.:D
