I didn't read alll the last several posts cause I would be sitting here all day if I did but from the first page I notice that there is definitely a lot of misunderstanding of mormonism going around. My friend is mormon, she told me she believes in Jesus and is a christian.

But what she doesn't believe is that Jesus Christ is God and died on the cross for our sins and that through Him we will have eternal life.

No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.[a] 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

I'd certainly understand if God and Jesus were two separate people... But it's not something that I've ever really thought of, so I haven't questioned it.

Lol... he agreed that Mormonism is wrong, and he's being baptized this weekend into the christian church. :) :D
I certainly HOPE this is true, but there's something about this entire thread that has my spidey sense on tilt.

It could be because I've just seen Alien, but I hear the motion tracker going off in my head. Who is more nerdy?

Ok... so I finally got over myself, and prayed about it.
I was told no, so I called the guy, so he could come and talk to me. I told him how I felt, and he told me that he'd been doing some praying of his own.
So, we're both of the mind that Mormonism is terribly wrong, and he's being baptized this weekend...
I certainly HOPE this is true, but there's something about this entire thread that has my spidey sense on tilt.
^^^I agree

I would still be careful BlueAngel. I have relatives who are Christian and thier spouse "converted" so they could married or date. Needless to say it isn't very pretty now.

I don't know this guy, and I'm not saying he "converted" to be in a relationship or whatever, but keep in mind that this is a possibility.

Okay so I'm usually very hands-off when it comes to the Singles Forum, mainly because Christian Chat Rules say that you gotta be 18+ to post in here. And sometimes I'm hands-off about stuff like this too. mostly because I've never dated before. Though I can't say I'm ignorant on how relationships should work.

Okay, so first off, hate to burst your bubble, but most teenage relationships don't last. (Not like the 17/18+ relationships, but the 13-16 relationships.) To me, 8 or 9 times out of 10, they're practically a joke. They're not serious at all. It's just all stupid stuff they think is love but is really just infatuation.

Second thing is, if you have to change in order to be with him, he isn't it. If you have to compromise your morals, looks, or beliefs for him, he isn't it. Just as plain and simple as that. If he's the person that God wants for you, then you wouldn't need to change that.

Third and last, Mormonism, no matter how hard they try to make it look on the outside, it's bad on the inside. It doesn't line up with Scripture. At. All. I've read whole forums about it on CC before. and they claim that you can become a god yourself. Definitely not Scriptural. So I suggest you stay away from the doctrine/religion.

If this situation is truly causing THAT many issues, then I say stay away from it. He is NOT meant for you.

Well...there's my two cents. Hope that they're of worth...and I hope I don't get yelled at for posting in here. >.> And I also hope I don't sound harsh.
^ Just wanna say that excluding this post this is first and last time I post in this forum 'till I'm 18 (much as I've wanted to join some of the funnier forums. :p Oh well...good things come to those who wait. :D)

There was nothing inappropriate about your post, Lil Christian. Your posts are always insightful. :)

And thank you for not wanting to participate in the teen drama that seems to have escaped the teen forum and spilled over into the singles forum :)

One last thought, Miss Angel, if you don't mind.......:)

It seemed to me that you were trying to determine if mormonism was "the way" based on whether or not this guy was "The One". But that isn't how we should determine Truth.

Truth is Truth, no matter what. If mormonism really was the way (IT ISN'T), then you becoming a mormon wouldn't hinge on whether you were supposed to marry the guy or not, because truth should be followed regardless.

JESUS is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. Follow HIM, stick close to HIM, and HE will guide your path. Don't get drawn in by fancy words and twisted scripture ;).

And........It's great if this guy really did see the error of mormonism, but be extremely careful. Like Julianna said, it seems sort of odd :)

Julianna! I love how you busted through this thread! :)
I was reading through all of the dialog, and i'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see who would say what I was getting ready to write, then the thread starter says, "Hey everythings okay now, you all can go away, God told us what to do, and He's gonna get baptised this weekend" (I'm paraphrasing) My eyes are now popping out of my head. What? (Notice she said nothing about him giving his heart to the Lord?) Then people start praising God for his mighty works that transpired almost immediately in this situation.....I'm like, about to fall off my chair now! Come on people. This girl is speaking like a sixteen year old who wants something very badly, and probably won't be swayed from that "WANT" right now. How classic that everything just all of a sudden "worked" out in her favor? Please. I have kids at home, one her age, AND, I remember being 16!!!!
To The OP, You could learn a great deal from Lil christian. She is young and right. Your going to look back years from now and laugh at this thread you just posted. It's going to be a joke, like every other teenie bopper relationship.
Know your God! Know your God! Know your God! No one is worth selling out to God, whether in relationship, or just speaking lies.

Wow, sounds like me :p
But really, I just got out of a relationship in October, and didn't get over it until this month... But I realized that there are things I haven't done in years, that I actually, really like doing. I just grass stained my pants this month, which I haven't been rough enough to do in years... And I just realized, I like lots of rough games. When I was in a relationship, I cared too much what the guy thought of me, so I wouldn't do them.
Since I got over the dude, I've been going out with my other friends, and having a blast all by myself.
I've learned a lot too... Like how to love myself (I've gone 16, almost 17 years without loving myself, and finally got it). You can't love someone with a love you don't have. :)
You don't need a guy to complete you.
You're complete with just you and God...
Sorry, I'm gonna start rambling if I continue. lol... Anyway, hope this helped... :p
I copied this from another thread, the post was dated 5 days ago and you started this thread 1 day ago. Sooooooo in four days you met this guy, got to know him well enough to consider a relationship with him, convinced him that Mormonism is a false religion, and convinced him to convert and be baptized in a Christian church. I'm impressed.:rolleyes:
