The origin of the word derives from Latin. The word fornix means "an archway" or "vault" and it became a common euphemism for a brothel as prostitutes could be solicited in the vaults beneath Rome. More directly, fornicatio means "done in the archway"; thus it originally referred to prostitution. The first recorded use of the noun in its modern meaning was in 1303 AD, with the verb fornicate first recorded around 250 years later.[2]
Fornication is dealt with differently in various religions, societies and cultures.

Yeah fornication is a sin "visiting brothels or with prostitutes" as the original meaning and no later translation mistakes.

But it doesn't say in the bible anything about premarital, just adultery or fornication.

Maybe denomitional interpretation?

You know, WENSPI, with such doctrine, you could lead people to the wrong descision. Sex was indeed saved for marriage. (yep, also, marriage is biblical, look at where the bible says in Revelations 'Blessed are those who come to the marriage supper of the Lamb) When Marriage occurs 2 ppl become one...ok. That being said.Sex is also 2 people becoming one. And in the bible it says for the men to be the husband of 1 (ONE) wife. Niow if we're going around sleepign with everyone under the sun before we're married. Are we truly then the husband of 1 wife? No.

The bible says in the last days there will be false teachers and preachers. And when they die they'll tell the Lord 'I did this and that in your name' And he's gonna say 'depart from me you workers of iniquity, I never knew you.'

Be very careful with what you're putting out there. Cuz....in the end... we WILL be held accountable

Is not a doctrine, is just the search of pureness in the bible because a word doesn't have the same meaning in the same language and in the same centuries.

hahah "workers of iniquity" what about judging others?

One thing we know, sex is reserved for marriage no doubt about it, but, if we have a doubt based on a concrete proof, we should try and answer with love and not with sarcasm...no one is trying to prove anyone wrong or offend or lead anyone anywhere, therefore if we are to be called christians we must obey all the commandments, including love everyone as we love ourselves, in this case that is to be prooved by trying to throw light with love and also bringing concrete proof (given the case of we wanting to reply with that attitude); if we do understand the word and how the way of teaching is supposed to be then is time to listen, study, ask ourselves and then with love, patience and tendernes in our hearts, wanting the best for our brothers and sisters, right there, come and teach. When is something wrong being stated, go ahead and serve him/her this way, for the person is trying to make something wrong a "fact", if not, let us think and meditate about our ways....are they noble? is many times i have seen us judging and excluding others and not correcting them with love...and I dont think is correct, if we want people to come to the Lord, I tell you now, is not correct.

The Bible undeniably condemns adultery and sexual immorality, but is sex before marriage considered sexually immoral? According to 1 Corinthians 7:2, “yes” is the clear answer: “But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.” In this verse, Paul states that marriage is the “cure” for sexual immorality. First Corinthians 7:2 is essentially saying that, because people cannot control themselves and so many are having immoral sex outside of marriage, people should get married. Then they can fulfill their passions in a moral way.

Since
1 Corinthians 7:2 clearly includes sex before marriage in the definition of sexual immorality, all of the Bible verses that condemn sexual immorality as being sinful also condemn sex before marriage as sinful. Sex before marriage is included in the biblical definition of sexual immorality. There are numerous Scriptures that declare sex before marriage to be a sin (Acts 15:20; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:13, 18; 10:8; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Jude 7). The Bible promotes complete abstinence before marriage. Sex between a husband and his wife is the only form of sexual relations of which God approves (Hebrews 13:4).

(Eph 5:4) Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
I believe this is referring to sexual jokes, not joking in general.

Sex before marriage is FORNICATION. Fornication is an abomination in the eyes of God.

What about David and Solomon, etc having multiple wives? (I'm not arguing with any point in particular - just want to know)

David and Solomon sinned, I don't have my bible with me but I know that David REPENTED. God loved David, the Bible says that David was a man after God's own heart.

As having multiple wives? hmmm, they did not have the New Covenant then and well perhaps they could afford it, hehehehe.

But one of the verses being thrown around in this discussion is from Levicticus - which they would have had then. And David repented for the whole Bathsheba thing, because he slept with another man's wife. It had nothing to do with the fact that he had multiple wives and concubines already.

Yes, you are right but you have to understand that David did not have the New Covenant in his time. He lived his life according to the Old Laws, how well is another storey. Not everyone during David's time had multiple wives and concubines. Well, David was King and wealthy.

One other thing to consider when Mary became preganant with our savior Jesus Christ; Joesph thought about putting her away quietly because he knew the child was not his because they were not having sex. Of course once he understood it was a miraculus thing he did not put her away.
