I'm thinking of starting a new thread in the BDF. I'll call it "The single most controversial question in the world." My question will involve which version of the Bible, celebrating holidays, legalism, works vs grace, the sabbath, musical instruments in church and anything else I can think of to stick in there.

I just have to find a way to phrase it so it includes all this stuff.
"Are you saved?" (people hate this one) or "Why aren't you saved?" (they don't even know what 'saved' means, even 'believers' don't know!)

page of answers> The Mind a Battlefield - Watchman Nee
"Consequently, we can see that in all the occurrences of a believer’s life, whether special or ordinary, everything which proceeds from evil spirits strips the proper functioning from his mind. The Holy Spirit, however, never does."

Wow, this sounds like a thread in and of itself... "What To Include In The BDF'S Single Most Controversial Question."

Don't forget: baptism, tithing, dietary customs, and whether or not it's ok to go topless. (Pulled directly from the BDF's most popular current thread right now.)

I am sure this thread will give you an opportunity to "Speak Your Mind"... which is the fastest growing thread in BDF right now.

I love Fridays. Bread is raising, I'm about to get ready to sell at the market. I am so very blessed!

So I've tried to troll the bible forum a few times now. But when I look at the threads, read a little bit... I just get sad. One thread made me very angry, and I jumped in because some guy was treating a psychological condition by casting out their "demons". I had to say something.

Anyway.

I can't troll. I just can't. So I'm just going to troll you guys. You're used to it anyway.

Yay, first summer thunderstorms have finally arrived. Cinder is a happy camper (but a large part of that is I'm not camping and have a nice covered balcony to watch storms from).

We had a doozy of a thunderstorm here. I like to sit out in the carport and watch the rain pound the ground. My dog... alas, he is a really scaredy cat of a cowardly dog. He hides in his house.

Hehe, that's exactly what I was thinking, Kim XD. :)

Oooh, and Aimee's back! *waves enthusiastically* No hugs; I've been sick, though mostly better now. Here's a flower for you; I think it matches your personality!

Ah. I remember the first of the thunderstorms... three months ago... and it never stopped. Drove through flash flooded streets today (again) to get set up at a festival I'm working this weekend.

(I do love storms... but STAHP already!)

So, I've asked for a Sunday off of praise and worship at the very end of June. Reason being is, I'm planning on going to a nerd convention and I'm going with someone else, who most likely is staying the whole three days. And, usually I'd say fine, forget it, but I'd really like to do this. I RARELY get a Sunday off. The pastor gets more Sundays off than I do (then again he works harder than me). But I'd REALLY like to go, and the last Sunday morning I had off was in....maybe February. I think we got snowed in. But I can't remember if that actually happened or not. And then before that was in October, I was feeling sick so I called off, but I even went in that Sunday evening for youth group, so that technically wasn't even a Sunday off.

So if they wanna fight me about taking ONE Sunday off, they can go ahead. The youth pastor has started to learn guitar, and he does it well. I'm willing to make sure that we have everything in place so that way no one is freaking out or scrambling over the fact I'll be gone.

I'm all for being respectful and stuff, but when it's a volunteer position, you don't ask; you tell them you simply aren't going to be there and they need to make other plans that day. If you give them enough notice and are willing to help them get stuff arranged before you are off to help them cover for you, that's all you should feel required to do.

It is a volunteer position for now. If the church grows and I have the potential to become worship pastor, then it might become a paid position. Until then, it's not. My sister and I both do a lot of things for the church for free. It's all the church can afford, and I understand that. And right now I'm not worried about it, because I love what I do. But I do think I should get this one Sunday off, just to chill and not worry. I've had a lot of stress on me, and I just need time to do something fun, get away for a bit.

If they give you any troubles, you have them call your big sis Ole, mmmmm'kay? It is ONE Sunday. They'll live.

I can't imagine they would make a big deal about it. You are probably worrying for nothing. *hugs*
