What was your best trip ever (and why)? Tell me about it. And it would be nice if you could add some pics from your trip/s.

And this is what I want to say/wish to all of you->

When I was in high school, I got to skip 2 weeks of class to go on vacation with my mom, her sister, and my grandma. We drove from Colorado to South Carolina and Georgia. They were all doing "old lady" stuff (wanting to hang out in cemeteries with dead people, researching our ancestors, blah-dee-blah). My favorite two places we went were Savannah GA and then Magnolia Plantation in SC.

Aside from abnormally large spiders and puke-inducing humidity, it was gorgeous :D

My most memorable trip of late would have to be to Key West. I drove from Indiana to South Carolina, down the west coast of Florida, through the Everglades (Did you know they had panthers in the Everglades? I didn't :) ), down to Key West, back up the east side of Florida and home to Indiana again about a year and a half ago. I visited an Indian reservation, several amazing beaches, Savannah GA, St Simons Island..

Driving the highway over the water was amazing...the water colors were incredible. :) Loved every minute of it. :)

My favorite trip was last year to Prince Edward Island, Canada. It was a biking trip (all I did while I was there was bike around the Island, including on the famous 470 km Confederation Trail). I may be going back in June for some more biking.

Here are some pics I took while biking around different parts of the Island.

I was never a big fan of Pictures when Video will do.

But I sailed from Boston Massachusetts, down through the panama Canal, to San Diego California.

4 years ago I went to Banff, Alberta

First ones were shot from a mountain that a gondola took us up to. The third is of downtown Banff. The 4th and 5th were shot in a canyon.

Great thread, Jolanta.

I've had more memorable trips in recent times than I've had prior to returning to the faith.

I spent a week in Cozumel, Mexico for New Years.
Spent a weekend in San Diego that was lots of fun last fall.
Had about 10 days in Rio de Janiero last June.

All of these were a blast, with the Cozumel vacation probably being the most memorable of the three. Although, it is somewhat frustrating to admit that my most memorable journey was 8 years ago: two weeks in Thailand...with The Ex. The Ex isn't the reason the trip was memorable (she's the reason it's a little annoying to admit that Thailand was still my best outing), it was just travelling about the land with my mother, seeing where she grew up and meeting relatives I didn't even know I had.

I've been to PEI but I was a little too young to care. :( All I really remember was feeling sick on the ferry.

One time I got lost in the city and wound up at a Vietnamese supermarket.

It was very strange and exotic.
The people all spoke a strange language,
they offered me weird food I was scared to eat,
and then I just as I was about to give up all hope
and thought I would be marooned there forever...
I was finally rescued, and given directions, by a 10yr old girl
(the only one who spoke English).

Does that count as a trip?

I'm still a bit traumatized.

Advance warning -- this is going to be an obnoxious post, I couldn't be bothered to resize the pictures properly.

I love the Keys so so so so much. Did you get a chance to see a green flash sunset while you were down there?
I'm headed back downstate to Key West in July for Hemingway Days, I'm so excited. :)

My most memorable trip was studying abroad in France during college and backpacking on weekends and breaks...I managed to explore Geneva, Rome, and south France all on my own.
After the semester was over, instead of coming back to the US right away, my parents and siblings joined me because one of my cousins was getting married out there, and we visited with a lot of extended family (my family's kind of scattered between France, South America, and the Caribbean..there are only a few of us in the states)

My most recent trip was the Bahamas (Nassau) last month with 3 of my sisters. It was unforgettable for me, not so much because of the location (although I can't complain, it's gorgeous,) but because it's really hit me how grown up and beautiful my baby sisters all are. I remember the day they each came home from the hospital. They are so freaking funny to be around, even if they drive me up the wall at times. I don't have a lot of people with whom I can truly connect in my personal life, so I cherish whatever chance I get to spend time and share experiences with them.

I admit I have a case of wanderlust...been itching to get some more stamps on my passport, but I've got a lot on my plate at the moment, unfortunately. One sister is on board for a backpacking trip in the next year so hopefully we can work out the details and make it happen.

I grew up traveling. UK 2x's before 3rd grade. Canada, Mexico, all 3 coasts, more states than I can recall. Car trips, 1st class airfare, Greyhound, trains. Concierge service & camping in the Sierra Madres far from electricity & running water. Swam in both sides of the North Sea. I've also managed to be exciting places at exciting times... such as tropical storms and hurricanes. My head is full of perfect postcard pictures, but I'm not much for using a camera.
I think my favorite trip was simply the last time my Bible class floated the Illinois river. Simple nothing fancy. The kids & I got to camp together and it was a great opportunity to begin building the kind of memories that I want the three of us to have.
